(Clearwisdom.net) "I think it's an excellent show. So I just love it. It's beautiful, it's well done and it's action from the first minute to the last," said Oyvind Dosslend, technical manager for the Los Angeles Metropolitan Opera.

Mr. Dosslend joined the enthusiastic audience to watch Shen Yun Performing Arts at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on February 11, 2010, the fifth night of a ten-day run. With a full orchestra composed of both Western and Eastern instruments, the New York-based performing arts company delighted the Los Angeles audience with traditional Chinese culture, including ethnic dances, classical music, and legends.
"I like when they dance... especially the Mong people, when they had that type of dance. That was really interesting to see. Yeah, the Mong people, the Miao people. It was really interesting. Because, I'm interested in these minorities in China and things like that. So that makes me very happy."
"I've been in the entertainment business for 14 years now. Well, I wish I did music and dance, but I'm doing computers."
Mr. Dosslend said he found Shen Yun to be inspiring and uplifting, "...and I think it's inspiring for most people here. I mean, this is really a fresh breath compared to the daily life outside. This is very good. Young people, they are dancing, they do moves I couldn't even move. You know, I'm like a dinosaur, but they bring in something fresh."
Reflecting on how the performances affected him, he said, "They remind me about life, how important it is. It makes me in a good mood, and good spirits, so when I leave here tonight, I'll be happy."
He was touched by contemporary issues presented in the performances, the on-going persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. "Well, I mean, one aspect is where they have the Chinese government going after the Falun Gong people. That's kind of tragic, but it's a reality. So it's good I think to get the message out. We need to take care of each other and try to be open minded, because many people are not open minded these days."
Pleased that he had seen Shen Yun Mr. Dosslend said, "When I leave here tonight, I'll be happy!"
