(Clearwisdom.net) There is a man named Erliang in my village who is 48 years old. He has suffered from diabetes for eight years. When he saw me, he said with admiration, "You are always so healthy even though you are in your seventies. You walk as fast as a younger man. Is Falun Gong really effective?"
I said, "I haven't been sick since I began practicing Falun Dafa in 1996, and I haven't needed to take any medications. You should start this practice as soon as possible."
He couldn't make up his mind whether to practice or not, due to the propaganda that defamed Falun Gong in the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) media. I gave up after a few times and thought, "Your life is yours, and you will later understand what I said." His disease later worsened, and he spent a lot of money on hospital treatments but wasn't cured.
Just as Teacher said in Zhuan Falun,
If he gets sick he'll go to the hospital. If doctors of Western medicine can't cure him, he'll go see a doctor of Chinese medicine. And if doctors of Chinese medicine can't cure him, and if folk prescriptions can't cure him either, then he'll remember qigong. He'll think to himself, "I'll go try my luck and see if qigong really can heal me."
Erliang decided he wanted to try his luck and he said he wanted to practice Falun Gong. I asked him to quit the CCP first and he agreed.
I asked him to read the book Zhuan Falun, but he was illiterate. So I bought an MP3 player for him and let him listen to Teacher's lectures whenever he had time. I gave him the exercise DVD and asked him to come to me if there was anything he didn't understand.
After two months, he looked much better. One day when he saw me, he said, "Why didn't you ask me to practice such a good exercise earlier?" I replied, "I told you about the practice a long time ago, but weren't you afraid of the CCP?" He said, "Can the CCP save my life? Had I known Falun Dafa was so good, I would have practiced it a long time ago. A person wouldn't know how good it is until he practiced it. You see, I have only practiced for two months, and I have now become so energetic. I can work in the fields and don't need to take any medicine. Before I had to spend at least ten or twenty thousand yuan every year in the hospital and they couldn't treat me. After seeing the changes in me, my whole family wants to practice Falun Gong.
He asked me to buy another copy of Zhuan Falun for him and said he would ask his children to teach him to read it, and said he would recite it.
I realized that we as practitioners should save more people, so as not to leave any regrets for ourselves and others.
