(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Wang Yong, a Chinese teacher at Yuexiu High School in the Xishan District, Kuming City, Yunnan Province, is well-known, respected by her peers and known by all to be a good teacher. She has more than 20 years of teaching experience. She started practicing Falun Gong in 1998 because of her poor health, and has since experienced tremendous changes in many aspects of her life. Because she conducts herself according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, she no longer loses her temper. Her efforts to become a better person have also been most helpful in her teaching. She does not care about her own personal gains or interests, and every student in her classroom is respected.
However, because she practices Falun Gong, such a highly regarded and respected teacher as Ms. Wang has been subjected to persecution many times. She was arrested on October 13, 2002 by officers from the Guandu District Domestic Security Division, and was subjected to one year of forced labor. She returned home on September 10, 2003. She was demoted from being the first-grade teacher to being an ordinary staff, and her salary was correspondingly cut.
Ms. Wang was marking students' mid-term test papers in her office at school at 5:00 p.m. on April 22, 2009, when the school principal called her to his office. Five officers from the Xishan District Domestic Security Division including Qiu Xueyan were there. They illegally arrested Ms. Wang and took her to the Jinbi Police Station. She later escaped and had to live away from home to avoid the persecution.
At noon on June 24, 2009, Wang Yong was arrested by Feng Jun and others from the Guandu District Domestic Security Division. They took her to the Xishan District Domestic Security Division. Terrified, she jumped from a restroom window on the fifth floor, causing multiple rib fractures and pulmonary contusion, and injuries to her left hand joint and the soft tissue. Her chest bone protruded. Qiu Xueyan and others sent Ms. Wang to the Xishan District Hospital, and then transferred her to the No.43 Hospital. Ms. Wang's husband paid more than 8,000 yuan in medical expenses.
On September 16, 2010, officers surnamed Wang and Wen from the Xishan District Domestic Security Division and three people who claimed that they were from the Xishan District government arrived at Ms. Wang's home and asked her if she still practices Falun Gong. They also threatened her, saying that if she continues practicing, then she will be responsible for any persecution she is subjected to in the future; if she agrees to stop practicing, she must write a guarantee statement. One of the officers slandered Falun Gong and its founder, Master Li Hongzhi.
