(Clearwisdom.net) For the past ten years, Ms. Yu Mingfang, Ms. Zhang Jun, and others from Chongqing have been subjected to harassment, arrest, and forced labor, simply because they practice Falun Gong, which benefits them physically and spiritually. Ms. Yu Mingfang was severely harmed with psychiatric drugs. Ms. Zhang Jun was abused at a labor camp and bailed out for medical treatment on January 9, 2009.
The Abuse of Ms. Yu Mingfang
Ms. Yu, 59, is retired from the Chongqing Changan No. 1 Factory. Because she practiced the Falun Gong exercises in front of the factory in May 2000, she was taken to the psychiatric ward at the hospital affiliated with the Changan No.1 Factory. Community official Zhang Shijun and agents from the Dashiba Police Station placed her in the facility.
Dr. Zhou Guilan from the Neurology Department prescribed drugs that damage the central nervous system and attempted to administer them to her in her food. When Ms. Yu refused to eat, two men and a woman named Wang Yu tied her to a bench and force-fed her. The forced-feedings occurred daily. Ms. Yu's mother went to the hospital every day and tried to get her released. She was successful after her daughter had been tortured for 28 days.
Ms. Yu went to Beijing in June 2000 to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong. Yan Xiangming, an officer from the Changan No. 1 Factory Police Department, and others arrested and took her to a detention facility. She was held for 40 days and then transferred to the Chongqing Women's Forced Labor Camp for a 17-month stay. In the labor came she was hung by her wrists handcuffed behind her back with her toes barely touching the ground. No bathing was permitted in the summer. Ms. Yu became physically and mentally traumatized. Guards handcuffed her backwards to a bed board because she refused to wear the camp uniform. The team leader who incited criminals to handcuff her was surnamed Wang. The officials extended Ms. Yu's term by five months.
In March 2007, Wu Kuanyu from the Dashiba local police and community Chinese Communist Party harassed Ms. Yu, and she decided to leave home to avoid further persecution. Officials are still trying to locate her.
Ms. Zhang Jun Ill-Treated
Ms. Zhang Jun, 63, is retired from the Changan No. 1 Factory. She began cultivating in 1993. After the onset of the persecution on July 20, 1999, Dashiba Police Station agents and the village committee members went house to house, searching for Falun Gong books. She didn't hand in anything but was listed as a "key" person to be persecuted.
Factory police officer Yan Xiangming and some of his co-workers tried to arrest Ms. Zhang in June 2000 and transport her to the Huayingshan Brainwashing Center. She was compelled to go to her older brother's home. The police followed her to arrest her there, but she resisted. Bystanders accused the police of arresting her for no reason. She was able to escape.
Eight officers from Dashiba Police Station attempted to arrest Ms. Zhang in June 2001. She shouted, "Neighbors, come and look! The police have no legal warrant to arrest me. Come and figure this out!" The police failed to arrest her.
From then on, plainclothes officers monitored Ms. Zhang, and her phone was tapped and traced. Local police station agents often harassed her at home between 2000 and 2006 and occasionally seized her. They usually detained her at the police station for several hours without reason and frequently ransacked her home. Chongqing agents began a general arrest sweep of practitioners in September 2005. Jiangbei District Police Department 610 Office member Li Xianyong, along with four other officers, barged into Ms. Zhang's home on September 24, 2005, at around 4:00 p.m. She resisted strongly and shouted through the window, "Come and look! The police are here to illegally search my home again."
Liang Shibin, Liu Ling, and other officers from the Jiangbei Police Department arrested Ms. Zhang on October 19, 2007. They ransacked her home and detained her at the Wangxiangtai brainwashing facility. She remained steadfast in her belief in Truthfulness-Compassion- Forbearance. Officials sent her covertly to the Chongqing Women's Forced Labor Camp for two years of forced labor at 10:00 p.m. on January 25, 2008. She was bailed out for medical treatment on January 9, 2009. Chinese Communist Party personnel then attempted to send her to the Changan No. 1 Factory Mental Hospital, but failed due to strong resistance from her and her family. She returned home. Police hit her youngest son, Zhang Hong, who is now mentally traumatized.
The Abuse of Luo Jieping, Li Guoying and Others
Ms. Luo Jieping, 48, was employed at the Changan No. 1 Factory. She went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong in June 2000. Officers from the Chongqing Police Department's Beijing Liaison Office arrested her and transferred her to the Changan No.1 Factory Police Department. Police officer Yan Xiangming and others took her to the Jiangbei District Detention Center and held her for a month. She was eventually held at the Huayingshan Brainwashing Facility for another month, followed by detention in the factory office for yet another month. Personnel from the Security Department at her work unit, Jiangchuan Factory, were in charge. Longxi Township Police Station agents arrested her in July 2001 for distributing Falun Gong information at the Dajiang Factory. She was held at the Banan District Detention Center. Banan District Court officials sentenced her to ten years in prison. She was sent to the Yongchuan Women's Prison and released in April 2009.
Ms. Li Guoying, 47, was retired from the Chongqing 16th Plastics Factory. She was imprisoned numerous times for her belief and because she appealed for justice. The first time she went to Beijing to appeal was in September 1999. She was arrested at Chongqing Train Station. Following 15 days of detention, she was sent to a brainwashing session held at the Tianyuan Chemical Plant Boarding House. The second time was in May 2000. She was arrested again at the Chongqing Train Station and held for 15 days. Officials sent her to the Geleshan brainwashing facility in August 2000, but eventually transferred her to the brainwashing facility at Chongqing Special Steel Mill Boarding House in September 2000. The third time, November 3, 2000, her home was ransacked, and she was detained for one month, followed by a year of forced labor. In May 2002, officials kept her under surveillance for ten days at her place of employment because a Party conference was being held in Chongqing.
Ms. Dong Jun, 62, is retired from the Changan No.1 Factory, and her younger sister, Dong Shizhen, 54, is retired from the Chengdu Jianghua Factory. Ms. Dong Jun and her younger sister were reported on April 1, 2009, as they posted Falun Gong information at the Changan No. 1 Factory. They were sent to the Dashiba Police Station and held at the Fuxing Detention Center for ten days.
