(Clearwisdom.net) More than a dozen Falun Gong practitioners were arrested almost at the same time on the morning of December 22, 2009. Participating in the arrests were officers from the Donggang City Police Department, along with officers from its subordinate branches in the development zone and the Dadong area, from the criminal police division, the 110 patrol police, the street police stations, and from police stations in surrounding townships and towns. The round-up of practitioners was under the direction of the Dandong City Political and Judiciary Committee, the 610 Office, and the Dandong Police Department. The practitioners arrested were: Yu Shuxin, Wang Chunhua, Jiang Xiaoli, Ms. Liu Yanjun, Wang Fuhua, Ms. Jian Guiling, Ms. Wang Lichun, Mr. Sun Fuchang, Mr. Sun Yongqin, Shao Jun, Yu Chun'e, Ms. Teng Xiuling, Zhang Jingmei, Ms. Liu Shufang and her husband, and a practitioner whose name is unknown. The following is a portion of the persecution inflicted upon these practitioners.
More than ten police officers broke into Ms. Zhang Wei's home. Since she was absent, the police dragged her husband, Mr. Sun Fuchang, from his bed and violently beat him. Mr. Sun sustained injuries all over his body. The police then dragged Mr. Sun, who was in his underwear, to a police vehicle. The police proceeded to arrest Ms. Zhang's brother-in-law, Mr. Sun Yongqin, and sister-in-law, Ms. Jian Guiling.
A group of police officers took four hours to pry open the door to Ms. Liu Shufang's home. They broke in and took her and her husband with them. Extreme fright provoked the sudden relapse of the couple's old illnesses. They were subsequently sent to a hospital for emergency treatment.
Several police officers took Ms. Teng Xiuling into custody. Gross abuse caused Ms. Teng to be unable to eat for several days, nor could she speak.
Ms. Liu Yanjun was arrested for the third time. She suffered a heart attack when she was arrested, and was carried to a police vehicle.
The practitioner whose name is unknown was violently beaten while being arrested. Police officers at the Dadong Police Department interrogated him under torture. This gross abuse put him in critical condition. At this time, he is still being tortured.
Ms. Jiang Zhiqiu, who is 69 years old, was sentenced to four and a half years in prison. Her daughter, Ms. Wang Lichun, was arrested for speaking out against the injustice against her mother.
The police ransacked the homes of the above-mentioned practitioners, confiscated many items, such as cash, cars, computers, printers, household appliances, cell phones, supplies, and Falun Gong informational materials, valued in total at several hundred thousand yuan. Ms. Liu Yanjun, Ms. Teng Xiuling, Ms. Zhang Jingmei, Mr. Sun Fuchang, and Mr. Sun Yongqin have been released, yet plainclothes police officers are still following and monitoring them. Their phones are being monitored as well.
