(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in eight cities or counties in five provinces. In this report, eleven Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least twelve practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Beijing] Ms. Gu Xinhua on Hunger Strike to Resist the Persecution at Masanjia Forced Labor Camp
In 2008, practitioner Ms. Gu Xinhua from Xicheng District in Beijing City was detained in the No. 1 Team at Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, Shenyang City. Her term was to have ended on December 24, 2009, however in November 2009, guards noticed her writing an experience sharing article. The guards, including Zhai Yanhui, beat her. Her eyes were swollen and her face injured from the beating, and her term was extended for another month. Ms. Gu consequently went on a hunger strike to resist the persecution.

2. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Additional Facts Regarding the Arrest of Ms. Du Yuhong
On January 3, 2010, when Ms. Du Yuhong, who is in her thirties and from Shenyang City, was handing out Falun Dafa materials, she was arrested by officers from the Xingshun Police Station, Tiexi District. Her home was ransacked the same day. She is being held at the Shenyang City Detention Center.

3. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Guozhi Arrested
On December 31, 2009, Ms. Sun Guozhi, 76, was handing out truth-clarification materials in the residential area close to the area's Education Institute. Someone reported her and the police arrested her. She is being held at the Zaohua Detention Center.
4. [Inner Mongolia] Ms. Yang Zhongzhi and Others Detained
On December 29, 2009, The Elunchuqi Police Bureau head and officers from the Dayangshu Police Sub-Bureau and Zhongyangjie Police Station arrested Ms. Yang Zhongzhi. They ransacked her home, and confiscated two computers, a printer and other personal property. They also arrested Ms. Yang's husband, a non-practitioner. Both are being held in the Elunchuqi Detention Center.
Officers from the Dayangshudong Farm Management Bureau arrested Ms. Wang Guiying, a resident of Nominhe Farm at 3:00 p.m. on December 21. They ransacked her home, and confiscated cash and other personal property. On December 23, they also arrested Ms. Ma, a resident at the farm, and ransacked her home. Both are detained at the Dayangshu Forest Bureau Detention Center.
5. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhang Qingxiang and Ms. Cai Yanfen Arrested
On January 4, 2010, officers from the Yushu City Domestic Security Brigade and the Chengjiao Police Station arrested Mr. Zhang Qingxiang at home and took him to a detention center. That day, staff from the Domestic Security Brigade, along with officers from the Peiyingjie Police Station, arrested Ms. Cai Yanfen. She was taken to the Yushu City Police Station.

6. [Tianjin City] Ms. Kou Yonglan Arrested
At 3:00 p.m. on January 8, 2009, Ms. Kou Yonglan from the Dagang District, Tianjin City was reported and officers from the Shenli Police Station, Dagang District, arrested her. She is being held at the Dagang Detention Center. Her home was ransacked and the officers confiscated Falun Dafa books and other personal property.
7. [Shanghai City] Mr. Guo Xiaojun Arrested
Mr. Guo Xiaojun was arrested by agents from the Baoshan District Police Sub-Bureau at 5:00 p.m. on January 7, 2010.
8. [Shanghai City] Mr. Jiang Yong Arrested and Detained at Xuhui Detention Center
Mr. Jiang Yong from Shanghai City was arrested and detained at the Xuhui Detention Center around January 1, 2010.
Mr. Jiang, 38, is a resident of No. 24 at 163 Row, Changshu Road, Xuhui District. He was sentenced to an eight-year prison term in 2001, and detained at the Shanghai City Tilanqiao Prison, where he was brutally tortured.

9. [Helong City, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Jun Arrested
On the morning of January 9, six police officers from the Bajiazi Township Police Station arrested Ms. Liu Jun at home.

10. [Huailai County, Hebei Province] Mr. Jia Zhijiang and His Wife Arrested
On June 10, 2008, officers arrested Mr. Jia Zhijiang and his wife. Officer Huang from the Huailai County Domestic Security Brigade confiscated Mr. Jiang's house key. He subsequently confiscated many valuable personal items, including 1,700 yuan in cash and a bank deposit book holding 5,000 yuan. In 2008, Ms. Li Rongmei was detained at the Hebei Province Women's Forced Labor Camp for one year, and Mr. Jia was forced into homelessness.

11. [Jiaozuo City, Henan Province] Ms. Wang Yulan Arrested and Detained
At 9:00 a.m. on January 1, 2010, when Ms. Wang Yulan from Jiaozuo City was handing out truth-clarification materials about Falun Gong in the residential area of the Engineering University, Duan Yujiang from the Security Division reported her to the 610 Office. She was arrested and detained in the area's detention center.
12. [Chongqing City] Ms. Xie Xiaju Arrested
At 10:00 a.m. on January 7, 2010, Ms. Xie Xiaju from Qianjiang City was arrested by five police officers, including Li Qinghuai from the Qianjiang Domestic Security Brigade Police Bureau. Her whereabouts are unknown.
13. [Chongqing City] Ms. Li Yuting Sentenced to Forced Labor
On December 26, 2009, Ms. Li Yuting was arrested and taken to the Chongqing City Shabao Women's Forced Labor Camp.
14. [Jianyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Jia Zhengfen Tortured
Ms. Jia Zhengfen, 37, is a resident of Nanjiang County, Sichuan Province. On December 8, 2009, she was sentenced by the Jianyang City Court to an eight and a half-year prison term. She was taken to the Jianyang Detention Center. Practitioners sentenced at the same time included Ms. Lei Jinxiang, Ms. Zhang Shixiang, Ms. Liu Dehui, Ms. Peng Xiuqiong and others.
Ms. Jia refused to wear the prison uniform. Therefore, she was handcuffed and her feet shackled. All practitioners were tortured. Ms. Jia was transferred to the Lezhi County Detention Center at 3:00 p.m. Fifteen days later, Ms. Jia was transferred to the Jianyang Detention Center.
Ms. Jia, Ms. Lei Jinxiang, Ms. Liu Dehui and Ms. Peng Xiuqiong were transferred to the Jianyang City Yangmahe Provincial Women's Prison from Jianyang Detention Center on December 28, 2009.
