China Expert: 'Magnificent! I loved it!' (Photo)

(Clearwisdom.net)--After watching the New York-based Shen Yun Performing Arts show at the Sacramento Community Center Theater on the evening of Jan. 11, Mr. Canfield's enthusiasm was evident. The China expert said: "I loved it--it's my fourth time. I think it's good to maintain the classical and traditional Chinese culture that Mao Zedong and the Cultural Revolution [tried] so much to destroy. It's also wonderful that Americans have a better understanding of Chinese culture.

"It is just a marvelous cultural experience for someone who's not Chinese. I'm sure it's also very informative even for Chinese Americans who may not be familiar with their own culture. One needs to know one's own traditions, one's own history--where you come from, the values.

"I got the pro-freedom message. I'm not a member of Falun Gong, but I find that all the people I've met are wonderful--they are indeed compassionate, tolerant people.

Mr. Canfield loved the music: "Oh, it's always magnificent. Of course, you've got this incredible mixture of Western and Chinese chords and music and instruments. It's just a glorious, powerful communication.

"I have come every year so far, and yes, I'll come next year."
