(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties across 13 provinces. In this report, 35 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 23 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Qiu Chunmei, Ms. Lin Meilin, and Ms. Zeng Xiaoli Sentenced
Ms. Qiu Chunmei and Ms. Lin Meilin were arrested for talking about Falun Dafa to government employees in Yuanbei Town, Jiaoling County, Meizhou City, on November 21, 2008. Ms. Zeng Xiaoli was arrested on November 22, 2008. They were detained first at the Fuda Detention Center, then at the Jiaoling Detention Center. Their trial was held on March 30, 2009. Ms. Qiu, Ms. Lin, and Ms. Zeng were sentenced respectively to six years, four years, and five years in prison. Only one of the three families was informed about the trial. The three practitioners are imprisoned at the Guangzhou City Women's Prison.
2. [Changle County, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhao Yancheng and Mr. Chu Daoan Still Imprisoned
On September 22, 2009, 70-year-old Mr. Zhao Yancheng was sentenced to 12 years in prison, and 30-year-old Mr. Chu Daoan was sentenced to eight years in prison. They were sent to the Jinan Prison on October 13, but were not admitted because of their health. By law, they should have been released. Guo Xingjun, the director of the Changle County 610 Office; Chang Quanbin, head of the Domestic Security Division; Liu Xiaowei, director of the Changle County Police Department; and Wang Shuhua, the CCP secretary of Changle County, were ordered to keep them imprisoned at the Changle County Detention Center. These officials are seeking support from the Shandong Province 610 Office and intend to force the prison to admit them.

3. [Huangmei County, Hubei Province] Ms. Yu Baihua Arrested
On the morning of December 21, 2009, officers from the Zhuogang Town Police Station and two village cadres went to Ms. Yu Baihua's home in Yuxian Village, Zhuogang Town, after an informer reported on her for talking about Falun Dafa to others. They searched her home, seized Falun Dafa related materials, and tried to coerce her to give up her belief. Ms. Yu refused. The officers told the cadres to guarantee that she would not practice Falun Dafa. The cadres refused. The officers then imprisoned Ms. Yu at the Shili Detention Center. They said she would be detained for 15 days.
4. [Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Xiurong Imprisoned at Cangzhou Detention Center
On the morning of December 18, 2009, officers from the Yunhe Police Department arrested Ms. Li Xiurong for talking to passersby about Falun Dafa. Her home was subsequently searched. She is imprisoned at the Cangzhou Detention Center.

5. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Haiying's Forced Labor Camp Term Extended
Ms. Zhang Haiying is a practitioner in Zhaijiatun Village, Changchun City. She was arrested on July 12, 2008 by officers from the Chengxi Police Station, and subsequently sentenced to 18 months of forced labor. She is imprisoned in the fourth section of the Heizhuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City. For a long time, the guards have denied her family any visits, citing that she refused to give up practicing Falun Dafa.
Her prison term will end on January 11, 2010. However, while answering her family's inquiries on the phone, a head of the guards said that she would be released in April instead of January because she was practicing Falun Dafa in prison.
6. [Laiyuan County, Hebei Province] Additional Information about Mr. Zuo Zewen
Mr. Zuo Zewen was released from a detention center on December 14, 2009. On December 21, he and his wife went to ask the domestic security section to return their car. Officer Zhang Fang said that commander Wei was out. The couple went again on December 22. Wei Jinkui, the section chief, not only refused to return their car, but also beat them. He slapped Mr. Zuo's face twice, Mrs. Zuo's three times, and left a nearly inch long scar in her face. He also hit her back with a stick.

7. [Mancheng County, Hebei Province] Ms. Yin Shuqi, Ms. Song Xiujing, Ms. Su Wenyu, and Ms. Yan Xinpu Detained
On December 20, 2009, Ms. Yin Shuqi, Ms. Song Xiujing, Ms. Su Wenyu, and Ms. Yan Xinpu were arrested for distributing Falun Dafa materials. They were taken to the Nanhan Town Police Station, then imprisoned at the Mancheng County Detention Center.

8. [Tianjin] Ms. Sun Shuzheng and More Than Ten Practitioners Arrested
Around 10:00 p.m. on September 28, 2009, over ten officers from the Tianjin Police Department, the Ji County Domestic Security Division, and the Yinliu Township Police Station surrounded Ms. Sun Shuzheng's home in Wulizhuang Village, Yinliu Township. They subsequently searched it, seizing her computer, laminator, and Falun Dafa books. Then they went to her second home and arrested practitioner Mr. Li Qiang, who lived there. These practitioners are imprisoned in the Ji County Detention Center in Qilifeng. They have been detained for more than two weeks. Their family visits have been denied. Before this incident, police had arrested nearly ten local practitioners.
9. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] Ms. He Ximei Being Harassed
In January 2008, officers from the Domestic Security Division, High-Tech Developing Zone Police Department arrested Ms. He Ximei for talking about Falun Dafa to passersby while shopping. She later escaped and stayed away from home for the last two years to avoid further persecution. Her family was frequently harassed by officers. On one occasion, the officers even took her one-year-old grandson and his nanny for interrogation to the office of the Domestic Security Division.
10. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Mr. Lei Jingxiong Imprisoned in Guizhou Province
In Duyun City, Huizhou Province, Xishui County's 610 Office and Police Department arrested Mr. Lei Jingxiong from Chenzhou City. He is being held at the county detention center. Mr. Lei's father in Hunan Province wrote an appeal letter to the Xishui County police who, instead of reconsidering their behavior, intended to conduct a cross-province arrest.

11. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Recent Arrests in Changsha
Mr. Liu Muyu, Mr. Feng Jianhui, Ms. Xiao Chunhua, and Mr. Peng Liang are imprisoned at the Changsha City Detention Center. Mr. Song Fanming is imprisoned in the Changsha City Prison.
The Pozijie Police Station, the Tianxing District Police Department, and the Tianxing District 610 Office were involved the arrests of Mr. Liu and Mr. Fan.
The Mapoling Police Station, the Furong District Police Department, the Furong District 610 Office, the Tianxin District Police Department, the Tianxin District 610 Office, were involved in Mr. Feng's arrest.
The Wangcheng County Pingtang Police Station and the Wangcheng County Police Department were involved in the arrests of Ms. Xiao and Mr. Peng.
12. [Hailar, Inner-Mongolia] Mr. Li Shuang and Mr. Wang Jing Arrested, Others Implicated
On December 14, 2009, Mr. Li Shuang and Mr. Wang Jing were taken from their office near the Carrefour Supermarket in the Daowai District of Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. A company van, three company computers, and company bill notes worth a million yuan disappeared at the same time. Mr. Wang Haitao, the company owner and non-practitioner, reported the case to police the next day. On December 17, officers from Hailar, Inner-Mongolia arrested Mr. Wang and his wife, Ms. Xi Chunling seized their two cars, all bank certificates and computers; and froze their company account. An insider said that they were imprisoned at Hailar, Inner-Mongolia. The Xinjian Police Station, Nangang District, Harbin City, participated the arrest.
13. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Current Situations of the Five Arrested Practitioners in Xiangfang District
Two of the five arrested practitioners in the Xiangfang District, Harbin City, were released. However, Mr. Zhang Chen, Ms. Guan Wenxiu, and Mr. Liu Bobin are still imprisoned.
14. [Nantong City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zheng Cuifang Sentenced Secretly
Ms. Zheng Cuifang was arrested in her hometown by the local police. The Nantong City 610 Officer transferred her back to Nantong City. She was secretly sentenced to two years in prison.
15. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Shen Jiman Arrested
On December 22, 2009, Mr. Shen Jiman was arrested for distributing Falun Dafa pamphlets in Qingyuan County, Fushun City.
16. [Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province] Practitioner Arrested in Lianhu District
On the morning of December 15, 2009, five officers from the Taoyuan Road Police Station, Lianhu District, Xi'an City, including Yang Anrang, broke into Ms. Nie Aiju's home. Ms. Nie, in her 60s, was not at home. The officers seized her Falun Dafa books.
It was said that police searched Ms. Zhao Yu'er's home the same day. Ms. Zhao, nearly 70 years old, is retired from the Xikai Factory in Xian City. She is reported to be imprisoned in another county.
17. [Jurong City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Hu Zhenru Subjected to Extended Forced Labor
Ms. Hu Zhenru from Jurong City was arrested and sentenced to a year of forced labor in December 2008. She is imprisoned at the Judong Women's Forced Labor Camp in Jiangsu Province. Her term was completed on December 8, 2009, but the labor camp informed her family that her term was extended by two months because she refused to {"{reform}}."
Ms. Hu's daughter in Hong Kong was outraged that no legal procedures were followed to make the extension, and no written notice produced.
Ms. Hu was first imprisoned in early 2007. She was sentenced to 18 months in prison and taken to Judong Women's Forced Labor Camp. While she was there, she was beaten, a rib was broken, her vision became seriously impaired, one of her ears was torn, and she suffered sequelae in her brain.
