(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 29 cities or counties in 16 provinces. In this report, 26 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 24 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Fujin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Gao Liansheng Harassed by Police
Around 9 a.m. on December 15, 2009, Sun Hongquan, police officer from the Legal System Section of Fujin City Police Department, and a police officer from Nangang Police Station broke into Mr. Gao Liansheng's home to harass him. On July 22, 2009, the police officers found a letter of encouraging him to be good and arrested him for that. He was released one week later. This time, he was questioned closely for the source of that letter. The officers made a record of the interrogation and forced him to sign it.

2. [Liuyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Mao Zhiping Arrested
Since the exposure of the arrests of Ms. Zuo Taoxiang and Ms. Li Jianhong for promoting Falun Gong, domestic and overseas practitioners have called the local 610 Office to ask that Ms. Zuo and Ms. Li be released unconditionally. However, the police arrested Ms. Li's daughter, Ms. Mao Zhiping, and held her in Liuyang City Detention Center. Ms. Zuo has been detained in the Baxianqiao Detention Center in Liuyang City.

Recently, a female practitioner from Fengcheng City was reported to the police while she was promoting Falun Gong and exposing the persecution in Kuandian County. She was arrested and beaten by police officers from the Kuandian Police Station.
6. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Yu Kun Sentenced to Forced Labor for a Third Time
Ms. Yu Kun and Ms. Zhou Xikun are practitioners in Wuhan City. Ms. Yu was arrested by officers from the Huashan Town Police Station in the Hongshan District and sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor. Ms. Zhou was arrested by police officers from the Domestic Security Division of Hongshan District and sentenced to one year of forced labor. They were both taken to the Hewan Forced Labor Camp in Wuhan City on December 15, 2009. Ms. Zhou was not accepted by the forced labor camp due to the results of her physical. She has been released and returned home.
This is the third time that Ms. Yu was sentenced to forced labor. In June 2001, she was arrested for the first time when she was putting up posters to expose the persecution in Hanyang Ship School on Yuehu Street, Hanyang District. In July 2001, she was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor and taken to the Hewan Forced Labor Camp, where she was brainwashed by guard Liu Hong and Suo Hanhua, and suffered all kinds of insults. At the end of February 2004, she was arrested for the second time by officers from the 27 Road Police Station for distributing Falun Gong fliers. Later she was taken to the Hewan Forced Labor Camp for one year. This time she was extremely devastated both physically and mentally, and fainted several times, but the guards still tried to force her to give up her belief and overloaded her with hard labor.
On October 17, 2009, Ms. Yu went to Huashan Town to distribute Falun Gong fliers. She was reported to police. As a result, she was arrested by officers from the Huashan Town Police Station and detained for 15 days. On the 13th day, she was transferred to the First Detention Center. Later, she was sentenced to one and half years of forced labor and taken to Hewan Forced Labor Camp again.
7. [Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Zhou Yangnan Persecuted
Mr. Zhou Yangnan, 30, lives in the Xiashan District of Zhanjiang City. On April 20, 2009, while he was repairing electric equipments in his booth in a shopping center, he was arrested by officers from the Zhanjiang City 610 Office and the local police station. He was taken to the Zhanjiang City Brainwashing Center. The officials also ransacked his home and seized his Dafa books, printer, copy machine, motorcycle, and 14,700 yuan cash.
After Mr. Zhou was detained for more than four months, he was transferred to the Mazhang Detention Center on August 18, 2009. In November 2009, he was transferred to the Xiashan Detention Center. Within several months, he became extremely skinny due to the persecution by police officers from the Zhanjiang City 610 Office.

10. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Wang Shirong Missing for Six Months
Mr. Wang Shirong, around 70 years old, was a retired worker of the "420 Plant". He lived in a rented residency in Shiling Town, Longquan District. He went outside in June 2009 and has been missing ever since. His kind deeds moved his neighbors, so they were extremely worried and looked for him everywhere.

In April 2009, incited by the Chengdu City 610 Office, a group of fully armed officers from the Shuangshuinian Police Station in Chenghua District, Chengdu City, broke into Ms. Xue Xiaofang's home. They ransacked it and seized her Dafa books and informational materials. The officers made a record of their interrogation and ordered her to sign it. Ms. Xue refused. Afterward, she was taken to the Chengdu City Detention Center but was denied admission due to her high blood pressure. She was released and allowed to go home, but she was placed under surveillance. Later, the police called her home again and again to harass her. She was forced to leave home. Recently, the officers threatened to sentence her in absentia.

15. [Liaoning Province] Ms. Meng Yuhua Persecuted in Liaoning Province Women's Prison
Ms. Meng Yuhua has been detained in the sixth team of the ninth division of Liaoning Province Women's Prison. Before October 1, 2009, her parents went to visit her and found out that she was too feeble to walk or talk. She told her parents not to deposit money in the prison for her. Ms. Meng refused to do labor in the prison and later held a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Up to now, her family has not been allowed to see her for nearly three months, and they have become quite worried about her current situation.

18. [Tanghai County, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Boru Taken to the Shijiazhuang City Prison
On the morning of June 14, 2009, Ms. Tang Boru, 69, was arrested while she was promoting Falun Gong and exposing the persecution in Tanghai County. She was taken to the Tanghai County Detention Center, where she was detained for five days. The authorities of the Tanghai County Police Department extorted 10,000 yuan from her family and released her on bail. After that, Li Fu from the 610 Office of Tanghai County Police Department often called her home to harass her. Meanwhile, he exerted pressure on her family. As a result, her parents dared not stay at home during the day.
On November 17, 2009, Ms. Liu was arrested at home by three thugs from the Tanghai County Court and taken to the Tanghai County Detention Center. She was notified that she was sentenced to three years of imprisonment. On December 14, 2009, she was taken to the Shijiazhuang City Prison.

21.[Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province] The Persecution of Mr. Li Tiekun, Ms. Sun Liping, and Ms. Wang Qingwen
On the morning of November 4, 2009, Mr. Li Tiekun and his wife, Ms. Sun Liping, were arrested by police officers from the Domestic Security Division of Liaoyuan City.
Mr. Li Tiekun, 44, made a living by running a small business. On the morning of November 4, 2009, when he had just returned home after buying goods, a group of police officers from the Domestic Security Division swarmed in, arrested him, and brought him to the Dongji Police Department. His wife, Ms. Sun Liping, 43, was arrested the same day by Xu Hui and Wang, both from the Domestic Security Division. She was taken to the Dongji Police Department, where she was detained for one day and one night. Then she was transferred to the Dongliao County Police Department and detained there for a day. On the afternoon of November 6, 2009, she was transferred to the Liaoyuan City Detention Center. The authorities also searched her home,and seized all her cash, bank cards, and bankbooks, which added up to more than 40,000 yuan, and all IDs, her children's computer, six cell phones and four printers. After Mr. Li and his wife were arrested, their two children, one 15 and another 6 years old, were left at at home by themselves.
On November 7, 2009, Ms. Wang Qingwen, 67, was arrested on her way to go shopping by Gao Yusheng from the Domestic Security Division. She was beaten. Her face was injured from being kicked, her hands and arms were swollen, and she had difficulty standing. That same night, she was taken to the Liaoyuan City Detention Center.
Ms. Guo Enlan, 60, was arrested by Gao Yusheng on November 7, 2009. Her home was searched.
On November 24, 2009, Ms. Sun Liping was released on bail. Mr. Li Tiekun, Ms. Guo Enlan, Ms. Wang Qingwen, Ms. Yin Lanhua, and Mr. Wang Changyou are still in the Liaoyuan City Detention Center.

Around 7:30 p.m. on December 14, 2009, two police officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Weicheng District and two officers from the Nanguan Police Station arrested Ms. Sun Jianxia at home. They seized two copies of Zhuan Falun and many other Dafa books, two tape recorders, an MP3 player, and some incense.
Around 6:40 a.m. on December 15, 2009, four police officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Weicheng District and three officers from the Xiguan Police Station arrested Ms. Wang Yuhuan and her son, Mr. Ding Meng, at home, and seized all Dafa books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong.
24. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhao Yunfeng and Ms. Zhang Suyun Arrested
Sixty-eight-year-old Ms. Zhao Yunfeng and sixty-four-year-old Ms. Zhang Suyun lived in the mining area of Shijiazhuang City. On December 3, 2009, they were arrested. The police officers of the Mining Area Police Station extorted 500 yuan from their families. After Ms. Zhao was detained in the detention center for five days, her family was notified that she was sentenced to one year of forced labor. Ms. Zhang's situation is unknown.
In the summer of 2007, when Ms. Zhao was cooking at home, Yang Huiting, chief of local Domestic Security Division, and several police officers broke into her home. When Yang Huiting tried to force her to get into the police car, Ms. Zhao refused. Yang Huiting and Lu Shechang kicked her and boxed her ears. Lu Shechang kicked her knees. She was in too much pain to move, so the officers pulled her into the car. She was released after she was detained for 15 days. After being released, it took her three months to walk normally. Up to now, she still cannot hear out of her right ear.

On September 25, 2009, Ms. Liu Ping was arrested while she was promoting Falun Gong and exposing the persecution. She was denied admission due to her age, but the authorities of the Police Department still refused to release her and held her in a detention center. On December 6, 2009, Ms. Huang Jin and Ms. Zhang Xinlan went out to promote Falun Gong and expose the persecution. They never returned home. Their families have not received any news about them.
27. [Jiujjiang City, Jiangxi Province]Ms. Li Guihua Still Detained and Her Family Forced to Pay 5000 Yuan
Around noon on November 29, 2009, when Ms. Li Guihua went outside to go shopping, she promoted Falun Gong and exposed the persecution near the First High School of Jiujiang City. As a result, she was arrested by police officers from the South Lushan Road. Presently, she is detained in the Jiujiang City Detention Center.
When her family went to the Domestic Security Division of Xunyang District Police Department to request her release, the police officers extorted 5,000 yuan from them and claimed they would release her. But one week after that she was still detained.

28. [Zoucheng City, Shandong Province] Six Persecution Cases
Ms. Wang Baolan, around 55, is a retired worker of Zoucheng City Printing Factory. She was fined 12,000 yuan by the local 610 Office for promoting Falun Gong and exposing the persecution.
Ms. Yang Jinghua, around 45, retired early from the Zoucheng City Beer Factory. She was fined 14,000 yuan by the local 610 Office for promoting Falun Gong and exposing the persecution. Her family spent about 20,000 yuan to bail her out.
Mr. Ma Mingjun, in his 50s, works in Piping Division of Zoucheng City. In 2008, he was sentenced to one year of forced labor for promoting Falun Gong. He has returned to his job, but he is only paid living expenses instead of a regular salary.
Ms. Wang Ximei, 55, is a staff member of Yanzhou Mining Affairs Bureau. In August 2008, she was sentenced to forced labor by Weishan County 610 Office for promoting Falun Gong.
Lian Yan , around 50, is a staff member of Yanzhou Mining Affairs Bureau. She went to Weishan County to promote Falun Gong and was persecuted by the local 610 Office. Her family spent 30,000 yuan to get her released.
Ms. Ding Hong, around 45, is a staff member of Yanzhou Mining Affairs Bureau. In 2008, she was sentenced to one year of forced labor by local 610 Office for promoting Falun Gong.
29. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Feng Jianhui Arrested
Ms. Feng Jianhui, 50, began to cultivate Falun Gong in 2004. At 2 p.m. on December 15, 2009, while she was distributing Falun Gong fliers in the East Bus Station, she was arrested by officers from the Mapoling Police Station in the Furong District.

30. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Yu Fanglin Will Be Brought to Court
Mr. Yu Fanglin, 39, lives in Malanzi Community, Sha District, Dalian City. On July 24, 2009, he was arrested by police officers from the Fumin Police Station and Hongqi Town Police Station. It is reported that he will be brought to trial in the Sha District Court soon.
31. [Sichuan Province] Authorities of Xinhua Forced Labor Camp Forced Practitioners to Do Hard Labor
The Second Division of Xinhua Forced Labor Camp specifically detained and persecuted Falun Gong practitioners. Su Xin, chief of the Second Division; Long and Gao Yunyuan, deputy chiefs; and guard You Ning incited drug offenders to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. They forced the practitioners to do hard labor for more than ten hours each day.
Below are the means used in the Second Division to persecute Falun Gong practitioners.
1) The practitioners were prohibited from using the restroom, talking, buying food, or meeting with their families. The guards assigned three drug offenders to monitor one practitioner. The guards used
the reduction of their terms as bait to incite the drug offenders to beat and abuse the practitioners. Although there were camcorders installed in each cell for monitoring purposes, the guards pretended that they knew nothing.
2) The practitioners were deprived of sleep and rest. They were forced to stand in military posture each day and were not allowed to take a rest at noon. At night, the cell mates went to bed at 9:30 p.m., but the practitioners were only allowed to go to bed at 11:30 p.m., or even 2 a.m., and had to get out of bed at 5 a.m., one hour earlier than their cell mates.
3) The guards forced the practitioners to sit on a small bench and did not allow any of them to move. Otherwise, they would be beaten and abused by the controlling drug offenders. They were also forced to walk in military step and run.
4) The practitioners were forced to do hard labor for more than ten hours a day. In addition, they were often forced to work overtime. They made products for the Hongrun Electronics Co., Ltd.. The company had two technicians stationed in the labor camp. They were Wu Pingrong and Tian. They colluded with the guards to brutally enslave the practitioners. The practitioners who could not finish their quota were not allowed to sleep, were forced to stand a long time, or had their sentences extended. The practitioners often subjected to persecution included Mr. Yang Shuzhong, Mr. Luo Hongqin, Mr. Deng Qixing, Mr. Yang Linxing, Mr. Xu Yongliang, Mr. Zeng Yuxian, and Mr. Meng Hualong.
5) The guards hit the practitioners with electric batons and detained them separately.
