(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 8 provinces. In this report, 12 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 19 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Qianan County, Jilin Province] Ms. Jiang Guirong Sent to the Qianan Detention Center.
On the morning of August 9, 2009, Yang Xuefeng, Head of the Zanzi Township Police Station in Qianan County, and policeman Feng Linnan went to ransack the home of Ms. Jiang Guirong at Mozi Village, Zanzi Township. They took away Dafa books and flyers about Falun Dafa. Ms. Jiang was taken away and sent to the Qianan Detention Center.

2. [Shan County, Shandong Province] Details about the Arrest of Four Falun Dafa Practitioners.
On the morning of August 20, 2009, more then ten policemen rushed into the home of Ms. Meng Qingmei and arrested Ms. Meng, as well as Ms. Li Qing and Mr. Liu Xinzheng who were producing flyers about Falun Gong in the room. At the same time, they took away a laptop and printer. Ms. Meng's brother-in-law is not a practitioner. He was also taken to the detention center and was not released until the night.
At about 11 am, Ms. Li Qing's home was ransacked. At about 3 pm, Mr. Liu Xinzheng's home was also ransacked. The police took away Dafa books and several copies of Minghui Weekly, an electronic book and a MP3 player. The police also deceived Ms. Liu Yumei into opening the door. Although Ms. Liu's husband and son tried their best to protect her, Ms. Liu was forcibly taken away by seven or eight policemen. The police also took away a Dafa book, a brochure and a CD about Falun Gong. Now the four practitioners are being detained in the Shan County Detention Center.

5. [Yiyuan County, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Guide and Other Falun Dafa Practitioners Arrested.
Mr. Lao Song is a retired employee of the Yiyuan Agricultural Bank. On August 20, 2009, he was arrested while he was explaining facts about Falun Gong in the South Macheng District. His computer and flyers about Falun Gong were also taken away from his home. Now he is being detained in the Yiyuan First Criminal Police Team.
On the same day, Mr. Liu Guide, Ms. Liu Shunmei, Ms. Bao Xizhu, Mr. Zhang Qingfu and Ms. Xin Yuxiu from Gu Village, Longjiaquan Township, Yishui County were reported to police while they were talking to people about Falun Gong in Jiaojiashangzhuang Village, Zhongzhuang Town, Yiyuan County. They are being detained in the Yiyuan Detention Center.

6. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Xun Harassed and Persecuted.
At 7:30 am on August 21, 2009, four plain clothed policemen knocked open the door to Mr. Wang Xun's home. After being at a deadlock for almost two hours, the police called a vehicle of young hatchet men to come and help. Mr. Wang Xun's wife blocked the door and did not allow the police to take her husband away. The hatchet men beat her, causing her mouth to bleed. At 9:30 am, Mr. Wang Xun was forcibly taken away. The police sent him to the people's hospital for a medical examination. Since his physical condition was not good, Mr. Wang was released home after being extorted 7000 yuan.
7. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhao Xuemei Taken Away from Her Home.
At 10:30 am on August 24, 2009, police broke the anti-thief door and windows of Ms. Zhao Xuemei's home at Fangzixin District, Weifang City and forcibly took her away.
8. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Several Members of Ms. Zhao Huihui's Family Arrested.
On the night of August 22, 2009, Ms. Zhao Huihui and Mr. Yang Bin from Xiaofan Township, Taiyuan City were arrested. Mr. Yang is an employee of the Taiyuan Steel Company.
On the morning of August 23, 2009, police from the Taiyuan Police Department and National Security Team, the Taiyuan 610 Office and the Xiaofan Township Police Station rushed into the home of Ms. Zhao Huihui and took away a computer, a printer, etc. They also arrested her father Mr. Zhao Cunhu who was tortured to disabled in 2001. 10. [Dangshan County, Anhui Province] Several Falun Dafa Practitioners Arrested.
Under the instigation and participation of Huai Yunlang, Secretary of the Dangshan Politics and Law Committee and Duan Liwei from the 610 Office, police arrested Ms. Liu Yufeng, Mr. Li Chaodong and Ms. Jiang Jing on July 9 and 16, 2009. They also ransacked their homes. The three practitioners were interrogated and tortured and not allowed to sleep for a long time. As a result of the persecution, Ms. Liu Yufeng became dehydrated and fell into a coma. She was hospitalized in the county hospital for several days. Later, she was still sent back to the local detention center.
On July 9, 2009, Ms. Bai Yun from Xinanmen was arrested. On July 14, 2009, police took away Mr. Li Zhengyi from Dalilou Village, Guandimiao Town, Dangshan County.
In August 2009, Ms. Liu Meiling was taken away from her home and her home was ransacked by police; Ms. Li Ali was arrested while she was working at the food store. On the August 22, 2009, Ms. Wang Suxia was arrested while she was working at the repair store her family runs. The police also took away the money she earned and would have used for her business.

11. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zheng Yanli and Other Practitioners Arrested.
At 4 pm on August 13, 2009, Ms. Zheng Yanli, 42, from the Shijiazhuang Second Cotton Mill and Ms. Geng from the printing and dyeing mill were arrested by the Yucaijie Police Station while they were distributing flyers about Falun Gong. The police also searched their homes and took away Dafa books and computers.
12. [Hebei Province] Ms. Kang Hongxia Detained in the Tangu Police Station.
At 10:30 am on August 24, 2009, Jia Yuhe from the Tangu Police Station led four policemen from the Changan Police Department to go to the resident building at Tanguxincun, arrest Ms. Kang Hongxia and ransack her home. They took away two computers and two printers. Now Ms. Kang is being detained in the Tangu Police Station.

13. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Chen Shuqin Arrested.
Ms. Chen Shuqin, 59 years old, lives in Qianfengyuan, Changyi District. Last month, she was taken to the Jilin City Police Department by police from the special police team because she posted flyers about Falun Gong. Later on, she was transferred to the Mingzhu Police Station in Changyi District. Her home was ransacked. Now she is facing a sentence.
14. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Xiuwen and Ms. Wang Xiuqin Taken Away.
On the morning of August 24, 2009, Ms. Wang Xiuwen and Ms. Wang Xiuqin from Fengnan District were followed and taken away by several police in plain clothes (who claimed they were from the Xugezhuang Police Station) while they were talking to people about Falun Gong at a market in Xige Town, Fengnan District. Their whereabouts are unknown.

16. [Laiyang City, Hunan Province] Additional Information about the Persecution of Ms. Li Huijuan.
On May 13, 2009, Ms. Li Huijuan was reported to police while she was talking to people about Falun Gong. She was arrested by the Laiyang patrol police and sent to the national security team. That night, she was detained in the Laiyang Detention Center. After being detained in the detention center for three months, she was sent to the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp for a one-year term on August 14, 2009.

17. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xu Min and Ms. Wang Yanjie Arrested.
On the afternoon of August 18, 2009, Ms. Xu Min in her 30s, Ms. Wang Yanjie in her 40s and Ms. Wang's teenage daughter were reported to police while they were talking to people about Falun Gong near Dachangtun, Fengman District. Ms. Xu Min and Ms. Wang Yanjie were arrested by members of the Dachangtun Police Station. At that time, the police paid the person who had reported the practitioners 50 yuan. Currently. The two practitioners are being detained in the Jilin Detention Center. It was said that Ms. Wang Yanjie went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution.

Ms. Li Chunmei lives in Beidouyan Village, Huquan Town, Guangling County, Datong City. On August 20, 2009, she was arrested. Now her whereabouts are unknown.
19. [Chongqing City] Ms. Yang Chunyuan Persecuted.
On August 17, 2009, the Jiangbei District Police Department called Ms. Yang Chunyuan's son Yang Shun and asked him to go to the police department at 2 pm on August 18, 2009 and sign a document saying his mother had been sent to the Shabao Women's Forced Labor Camp for a two-year's term. Yang Shun refused to sign the document and asked for his mother's release. The police department refused his request and informed him that he may take back the things which were confiscated while the police searched Ms. Yang's home, including three cellphones and one computer. The police forced Yang Shun to sign the document by utilizing those things. Yang Shun signed the document.

20. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Additional Information about Injured Mr. Wang Yonghang.
Mr. Wang Yonghang was beaten by at least four people while he was arrested on July 4, 2009. As a result, his right leg swelled up and he could not walk. At 1 am on July 6, he was sent to the Dalian Central Hospital for a medical examination, and was showing a comminuted fracture of his right calcaneus and rupture of his achilles tendon. He was sent back to the detention center after just having a simple gypsum fixture. In the detention center, he was not given any timely or effective treatment. However, the guards kept interrogating him. Later the wounds deteriorated and had partially ulcerated and became infectious. But he was still not given any treatment. On August 11, 2009, the detention center had to send him to the central hospital for surgery. His family was not informed until August 4, 2009, when they found out his wounds were infected. On August 11, 2009, the detection center did not inform his family about the surgery. His family have not been allowed to visit him until now.
