(Clearwisdom.net) One time when I was passing out Falun Gong materials on the street, I saw a freight vehicle parked by the roadside. I walked up to it and dropped a copy of the truth clarification material into the driver's side of the vehicle. The driver saw me and shouted, "What did you throw into my vehicle?" Startled, while walking away, I said, "I did not throw anything in there".
After walking several steps, I suddenly thought, "Can I save him by lying to him? No! Lying can not save people, instead, it hurts people! I cannot lie!" Hurriedly, I turned around and said to the driver, "I am sorry. I should not have lied to you a moment ago. What I dropped in your vehicle is truth clarification material. I hope you can read it carefully, it is good for you."
He relaxed his tone of voice since he saw that I was sincere and said, "You are at such an old age, don't cause yourself any trouble." I replied, "Thank you. I will pay attention." Then I left calmly.
I knew that my actions a moment ago had changed his hostility towards Falun Gong practitioners and he would surely pick up that material and read it carefully.
From that experience, I also thought about some local practitioners. When they were interrogated by the police, they often dealt with it by lying. When they were asked where truth clarification materials come from, most of them would say, "I picked them up from the street" and some even say, "an airplane dropped them." This had caused some police to turn even more against Dafa, saying things like, "You keep saying that you cultivate Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance but you also keep lying. Where is your Truthfulness?"
In view of this situation, when facing this kind of question, I personally believe that in order to save everyone including the police, one can choose not to reply directly or simply tell the police, "I have nothing to say!"
Master teaches us in Zhuan Falun, "I am a person who will not say what he does not want to say, but what I say must be true." (from Third Translation Edition)
Only by following Master's Fa can we leave no loopholes for the old forces to take advantage of, truly validate Dafa and save people.
