(Clearwisdom.net) (Correspondent from Jilin Province) For many years now, Falun Gong practitioners held at the No. 5 Ward of Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City have been forced to perform strenuous hard labor from 5:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and oftentimes well into the night. They are not allowed to take noon-time breaks nor are they allowed more than 30 minutes to eat their lunch.

The practitioners in the No. 5 Ward are almost all women over 50 years old. Despite their age, the guards still require them to make 50 butterfly-like objects per day. Any practitioner that fails to meet her quota is forced to work extra hours until the work is completed.

Some of the practitioners were persecuted so badly that they started to develop health problems and some even became disabled. Several of the women started to lose their eyesight while others lost full or partial mobility in their hands. As a result, it is nearly impossible for them to finish their assigned tasks each day, and they almost always have to work extra hours to finish. The guards verbally abuse them, fine them, extend their terms, and often torture them.

The No. 5 Ward is now working on wrapping paper bags. Inmates under 55 years of age are forced to finish 500 bags per day while those between 55 and 65 are required to finish 300 to 400 bags per day. Practitioners with health problems are forced to load or unload delivery trucks, no matter their physical condition.

If a guard assigns a cleaning duty to a particular practitioner, she is still required to finish her other assigned tasks as well, otherwise she is fined five yuan and is not allowed to use the bathroom. If she performs a task that is not up to the guards' standards, she is automatically fined a half yuan.

The guards in the No. 3 Group of the No. 5 Ward do not allow practitioners to order items not sold at the labor camp. If they do manage to place an order, the guards freeze their accounts and the items that they ordered are confiscated.

Ms. Kong Demei, 30, is a practitioner from Nong'an County in Jilin Province. On July 3, 2009, she refused to work. As a result, ward supervisors Wang Limei and Liu Yinghui (both females), repeatedly struck Ms. Kong with two electric batons. Wang later inserted her electric baton into Ms. Kong's mouth and held it there for a long time, causing her mouth to become so swollen that she could not move her lips to speak. Ms. Kong was later tortured on a Death Bed.

Ms. Teng Lihua, 51, is a practitioner from Baicheng City in Jilin Province. When she refused to work, Wang and Liu used electric batons to beat her, then restrained her on a Death Bed. They shocked the soles of her feet, causing Ms. Teng to cry out in pain. Wang and Liu then took off their shoes and socks and told Ms. Teng that they would stuff their socks in her mouth and tape her mouth shut if she cried out again. As a result of being continually tortured, Ms. Teng developed a severe case of arthritis in her neck and her eyesight quickly deteriorated.

Ms. Wang Weixiu, 47, is a practitioner from Huichun City, Jilin Province. On the evening of July 1, 2009, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Su Guiying, the leader of the ward, noticed that Ms. Wang was reading several pages of notes while she was sitting in her cell. Su immediately reported this to Wang Limei and Liu Yinghui. It was discovered that Ms. Wang Weixiu was reading the teachings of Falun Gong that she had copied down while she was working. Wang then used an electric baton to shock Ms. Wang Weixiu and extended her term by 30 days. When Ms. Wang Weixiu refused to do any more hard labor, she was forced to sit on a small bench all day long and her term is currently being increased one day for every day that she refuses to perform hard labor.

Ms. Song Ruiling, 42, is from Huadian City, Jilin Province. She was locked inside a small isolation cell for ten days because she refused to write a report disclosing what she was thinking.

Ms. Li Xiuyan, 43, is from Jiaohe City, Jilin Province. When she was making wine bags, she put the poem "Climbing the Tai Mountains" from Hong Yin into one of the bags and forgot to take it out. After the note was discovered, the bag was returned to the labor camp and Ms. Li's term was extended.
