(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 9 provinces. In this report, 9 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 31 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Xinjin County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wang Chuanxiu Held at Qionglai City Detention Center
Ms. Wang Chuanxiu, 55, lives in Xinjin County, Sichuan Province. On June 19, 2009, officers from the Yang'an Police Station took her into custody. On June 20, she was taken to the Qionglai City Detention Center, where she has remained in custody.

2. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Wang Wuhui's Life in Imminent Danger as a Result of Severe Abuse in Hunan Province Women's Prison
Ms. Wang Wuhui, in her 50s, is from the Pingjiang area in Yueyang City, Hunan Province. She is being held at the Hunan Province Women's Prison. As a result of severe abuse, her life is in imminent danger.
3. [Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Police Search Ms. Zhang Shufen's Home
On September 2, 2009, nearly a dozen police officers broke into Ms. Zhang Shufen's home in the Dajitun area in the suburbs of Cangzhou City, Hebei Province. They confiscated Falun Dafa books, DVDs, and Falun Gong informational materials. Ms. Zhang's family stepped up and did not allow the police to take her away. Instead, her daughter-in-law was taken by the police. She was released a few hours later.
4. [Beijing] Ms. Huang Li Taken into Police Custody
Ms. Huang Li, 52, lives in Room 201, Unit 2, No. 9 Building, Dongliu Lane in the Shuangqiao area, Chaoyang District. At around 10:00 p.m. on August 30, 2009, she was taken into custody. The police searched her home.
5. [Sanhe City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Yonghong Taken to Brainwashing Center
On September 5, 2009, Ms. Liu Yonghong from Sanhe City checked into a hotel in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. She was found to be a Falun Gong practitioner and taken to a brainwashing center in Langfang City, Hebei Province.
6. [Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Li Yulin, His Wife Ms. Wei Hongsen, and Their Two Children Taken into Custody
Around September 2, 2009, a practitioner from out of town was videotaped while distributing brochures in a residential community in Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province. The police followed him to where he was living and took into custody Mr. Li Yulin, Ms. Wei Hongsen, their son Li Gan, and daughter Li Jingyi.
7. [Penglai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Renzhi Taken into Custody
On September 4, 2009, Ms. Li Renzhi in Penglai City was taken into police custody. Her home was searched. She is being held at the Penglai Detention Center.
On September 2, Qu Yitao and other police officers broke into Mr. Chen Guangwei's home. They searched it, citing reports from informants.
8. [Xinxiang City, Henan Province] Mr. Yang Mingzheng and Ms. Tian Yun Sentenced to Forced Labor
Mr. Yang Mingzhen from Xinxiang City was taken into custody in March 2009. He has been sentenced to four years of forced labor by the Weibin District Court in Xinxiang City. He remains at the Xinxiang City Detention Center.
Ms. Tian Yun from Huixian City was taken into police custody while she was telling others the facts of the persecution in Huixian City in March 2009. She has been sentenced to three years of forced labor by the Huixian City Court. She is being held at the Huixian City Detention Center.
Both practitioners have appealed their cases to the Xinxiang City Intermediate Court.
9. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Li Zhi Taken into Custody
Around 4:00 a.m. on September 7, 2009, Yang Chun, director of the Kaiyuan Town Police Station in Shulan City, Liang Ziyu, member of the 610 Office, and other officers broke into Mr. Li Zhi's home. Some came through the door after smashing the lock, others jumped in through the windows. They did not present any identification. Mr. Li was forcibly taken to a car. His elderly mother, who is blind, has a hard time taking care of herself.
10. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Cai Yuzhen Taken into Custody
At 10:00 a.m. on September 4, 2009, Xia Bo, director of the Renhe Police Station, led a group of officers to Dongxinzhuang Village. They carried Ms. Cai Yuzhen, in her 60s, into a police vehicle. Ms. Cai was taken directly to the Gaomi City Detention Center. The police said it was because a brainwashing center has been set up in Gaomi City to "transform" Falun Dafa practitioners.

11. [Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Yujie Taken into Custody
At around 7:00 p.m. on September 7, 2009, Wang Minghao, head of the Domestic Security Division, and a dozen police officers went to Mr. Wang Yujie's home in the Machang area in Haixing County, Cangzhou City. They took him into custody. The police also took his personal belongings worth over 8,000 yuan. Mr. Wang was taken to the Xing County Detention Center at around 7:00 p.m. the following evening.

12. [Huanghua City, Hebei Province] Several Practitioners Taken into Custody
At around 7:00 p.m. on September 7, 2009, Zhang Gang, chief of the Huanghua City Police Department, ordered subordinate police stations to send out officers in a coordinated campaign. The police took into custody Ms. Shi Chuanfeng, Ms. Zhang Lian'e, Ms. Wang Hui, Ms. Tian Xiufen, and Ms. Fan Yong. The police also searched several other practitioners' homes.

13. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Zhang Huili Taken into Custody
Mr. Zhang Huili lives in Huguo Town, Naxi District, Luzhou City. In mid-June he went missing. Two months later it was reported that he had been turned in to the police for telling others about the persecution in a farmers' market in the Naxi District. State security officers in the Naxi District took him into custody. He is being held at the Luzhou Detention Center.
14. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Dai Guomin Taken into Custody
Mr. Dai Guomin, 48, lives in Fuzihe Town, Macheng City, Hubei Province. He is working odd jobs in Wuhan City. On the evening of August 21, 2009, he was taken into custody by officers from the Xujiapeng Police Station while telling others the facts about Falun Gong in an Internet cafe. He was taken to the Qinglin Township Detention Center in the Sanjiaoqiao area. The police have rejected several requests from his family to visit him.
15. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Yafang and Ms. Zhu Fengying Held at Zhaozhou Detention Center
Ms. Zhang Yafang and Ms. Zhu Fengying live in Zhaozhou County, Daqing City. On September 7, 2009, they were taken to the Zhaozhou Detention Center by officers from the Zhaozhou Police Department. Two officers then broke into Ms. Zhang's home. They confiscated a portrait of the founder of Falun Gong and other personal belongings.
16. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Xu Xiangdong Taken into Custody
Mr. Xu Xiangdong works at the Fertilizer Factory of the Daqing Petro-Chemical General Factory. On September 8, 2009, he was taken into custody by the Domestic Security Unit of the Daqing City Police Department. He is being held at the Daqing No. 1 Detention Center. Zhong Ming, Feng Haibo, and a couple of other police officers searched Mr. Xu's home after taking him into custody. The officers ransacked the place and confiscated two Falun Dafa books and a weekly magazine.

17. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Chang'e in Jishu Town Taken to Food Department Brainwashing Center on the Morning of September 7
18. [Laishui County, Hebei Province] Mr. Chen Shuyi Taken into Custody
On September 2, 2009, Mr. Chen Shuyi from Dongwangjiazhuang Village in Wangcun Township, Laishui County, was turned in to the police in Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province, for telling others about the persecution of Falun Gong. He is being held at the Zhuozhou City Detention Center.
Ms. Xie Meiying lives in Zhuozhou City. She was just released from a labor camp. She was again taken into custody with another practitioner when she was visiting the practitioner's home.
19. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Chen Yawen Taken into Custody
Ms. Chen Yawen, in her 50s, lives in the Development District, Yantai City. On the afternoon of September 7, 2009, she was followed and taken into custody by plainclothes officers from the Tianqiao Police Station in the Development District while she was distributing brochures. She was later transferred to the Yantai No. 2 Detention Center in the Development District.
20. [Hebei Province] Additional Information on Practitioners Recently Taken in Custody in Cangzhou City
At around 5:30 p.m. on September 2, 2009, four officers from the Yunhe Police Department coerced Ms. Zuo Shuping's husband to go home and open the door. The officers took into custody Ms. Zuo, who teaches at the Cangzhou Teachers College. The police also confiscated a computer, a printer, and other personal belongings worth over 4,000 yuan.
At around 8:50 p.m. on September 2, a dozen officers from the Yunhe Police Department rushed to Ms. Zhao Lanjun' home. They confiscated all Falun Dafa books, a cassette player, and cassette tapes for the Falun Gong exercises. Ms. Zhao was taken into custody. Around 9:30 p.m. they headed to Mr. Tian Jingxian's home from Ms. Zhao's home. They waited till 10:30 p.m. outside the door to take Mr. Tian into custody when he returned home.
On the morning of September 4, officers from the Yunhe Police Department coerced Ms. Xu Shuangli's husband to open the door. They confiscated a computer. Ms. Xu has been forced to leave town with nowhere to live.
At noon on September 4, Ms. Liu Fang was taken into custody at work by officers from the Yunhe Police Department. The police then searched her home and confiscated personal belongings.
On the evening of September 7, about ten officers from the Yunhe Police Department broke into Mr. Song Junpeng's home. They confiscated a computer among other things.
At around 8:00 p.m. on September 7, the police took into custody Ms. Zhang Libo and her husband Mr. Wang Jijun and searched their home.

21. [Kaifeng County, Henan Province] Ms. Zhang Xiuqin Taken into Custody
At 10:00 a.m. on September 1, 2009, Huang Tingsheng from the Kaifeng County 610 Office and other officers broke into Ms. Zhang Xiuqin's home. They took Ms. Zhang, 61, to the Kaifeng County Detention Center.
A few months ago, the police took into custody Mr. Yang Shucai and Ms. Fan Xiuying, who live in Liudian Township. The two practitioners have remained in custody.

On the afternoon of September 8, 2009, Ms. Guo Fengrui, who lives in the Dagang District in Tianjin, was turned in to the police. Officers from the Shengli Police Station took her into custody at her home. They searched her home. Ms. Guo was taken to the Dagang Detention Center.
24. [Guan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhao Dongxia Taken into Custody
Ms. Zhao Dongxia, in her 40s, lives in Wangzhuang Village, Liangtang Township, Guan County. On the morning of September 8, 2009, officers from the Guan County Police Department and the Liangtang Township Police Station broke into her fertilizer distribution department. The officers searched the department and her home. They confiscated a computer used for gathering agriculture information. Ms. Zhao was taken into custody.
