(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 6 provinces. In this report, 3 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 18 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Huangshi City, Hubei Province] Investigation and Verification Concerning Mr. Song Wanxue Who Was Tortured to Death at the Huangshi Second Detention Center
Mr. Song Wanxue, 45 years old, was employed by the Fengshan Copper Mine in Huangshi City. In October 1999, he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. Afterwards he was escorted by Liu Jianguo, head of the security section of the Fengshan Copper Mine, to the Huangshi Second Detention Center and was detained there for 15 days.
In November 2000, Mr. Song went to Beijing to appeal again. After he got home, the mine did not allow him to work and forced him to report to the security section of the Daye Nonferrous Metal Company. On January 20, 2001, Liu Jianguo transferred him from the security section of the Daye Nonferrous Metal Company to the Huangshi Second Detention Center. On January 22, 2001, he died as a result of torture in the detention center.
When Mr. Song's younger brother saw his body, he found that his skull was broken; his arms, legs, and ribs were fractured; and there were stitched wounds on his chest and back where his heart, liver, and kidneys had been removed. The police also cremated the body against his family's wishes.
2. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zeng Lingwen Persecuted
In the middle of July 2009, officers from the Changjiulu Police Station ransacked the home of Ms. Zeng Lingwen and took away truth-clarification materials, a computer, a printer, Dafa books, etc. Ms. Zeng's pension (in cash) was also taken. She was taken to the police station and interrogated.
Ms. Zeng is over 70 years old. After being released, she is still being monitored.
3. [Jimo City, Shandong Province] Ms. He Xiuxiang Arrested
At 7 a.m. on August 13, 2009, Ms. He Xiuxiang from Lingshan Town was taken away by Dong Quanqi from the comprehensive administration office of the Lingshan Politics and Law Committee and the local police to the Lingshan Police Station. The police performed a body search on her and took about 30 yuan that she carried. Afterwards, Wang Deyi from the police station and others ransacked her home and took her Dafa books.

4. [Ji County, Tianjin City] Ms. Zhang Liqin from Tazhuangzi, Shangcang Town Arrested by the Shangcang Police Station and Detained in the Tianjin Forced Labor Camp
5. [Wanzhou, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wen Qihui and Ms. Mou Xiuyun Arrested
On the afternoon of August 13, 2009, Xie Li, Wang Xian, and eight others from the Wanzhou 610 Office and the Baiyan Police Station ransacked the homes of Ms. Wen Qihui and Ms. Mou Xiuyun. The two practitioners were taken to the Zhoujiaba Detention Center in the Wanzhou District.
6. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Xiying Arrested
On the morning of August 15, 2009, Ms. Li Xiying was reported and arrested while she was explaining the facts about Falun Gong in a market. She is being detained in the Lijin Detention Center. She had been detained in forced labor camp for several years.
7. [Lechang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Gong Xuejun and Ms. Yu Shanzhen Persecuted
On August 29 and 20, 2008, the Lechang 610 Office arrested Ms. Gong Xuejun and Ms. Yu Shanzhen. They were secretly sent to the Sanshui Women's Forced Labor Camp.
8. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Feng Gang Arrested Again on August 14, 2009, When He Was Shopping in a Supermarket
9. [Fujian Province] On the Morning of August 17, 2009, Ms. Liu Cailin Was Arrested by the Shaowu National Security Team and Her Home Was Searched
10. [Chongzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Hu Xia Persecuted
At 8 p.m. on August 7, 2009, Ms. Hu Xia was reported to the police by her husband, Shuai Ruqin. She was taken away by pfficers from the Yangma Town Police Station in Chongzhou City.
On August 10, 2009, she had the symptoms of a heart attack at the Chongzhou Detention Center. Officers from the Yangma Town Police Station and guards from the detention center took her to a hospital in Chongzhou City. They made her family watch her and pay 5000 yuan bail for releasing her. On the morning of August 15, 2009, Ms. Hu was forced to become homeless and destitute.
11. [Heyuan City, Guangdong Province] One Month after Ms. Huang Yuying Was Arrested, Her Son and Daughter-in-law Were Arrested
On the morning of August 17, 2009, Ms. Huang Yuying's son and daughter-in-law went to the local police department and asked to visit her. However, their request was refused. Later on, they were taken by the Boluo County Police Department to a detention center.
12. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Zhao Cuiping Arrested
Ms. Zhao Cuiping, 50 years old, is an employee of the Yunnan Second Construction Company in Kunming City. On August 5, 2009, she was arrested while she was distributing Falun Gong informational materials. On August 6, 2009, her home was ransacked.
13. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Mo Suxia Arrested
On the afternoon of August 16, 2009, Ms. Mo Suxia was reported while she was distributing Falun Gong leaflets. She was taken away by officers from the Houjiagou Police Station in Shahekou, Dalian City.
Later that night, the police searched the apartment Ms. Mo rents and took away a computer, a printer, some Dafa books, and informational materials. On August 17, 2009, she was sent to the Yaojia Detention Center.
