(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 22 cities or counties in 11 provinces. In this report, 20 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 38 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Futian District Court Plans to Hold Illegal Trial Against Falun Gong Practitioners
Officers from the Futian District's 610 Office in Shenzhen City and the Shatou Police Station broke into the homes of Mr. Liang Yuhua, Ms. Wang and a practitioner in her 60s (with a Cantonese accent) on July 14, 2009. The Futian District Court in Shenzhen City is planning to open an illegal trial against these practitioners within the next week.

2. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Ms. Chen Chujun Dies in Mental Hospital--Many Practitioners Persecuted
Ms. Chen Chujun from Huaihua City was in her 30s. The police illegally arrested her right before the 2008 Olympics Games and sent her to Baimalong Women's Forced Labor Camp. It was recently learned that she was killed in a mental hospital, where she was being persecuted.
The police also arrested nine practitioners, including Ms. Zhang Hejun, Ms. Yu Zhenyu and Mr. Chen Guo, around April 2008 and sentenced all of them to heavy prison terms. Their families were denied the right to see them at the prison. The practitioners are not even allowed to purchase daily necessities and their families are forbidden to send anything to these practitioners.
The police have illegally arrested numerous practitioners including Ms. Chen Qinghua, Ms. Wu Ruirong and Ms. Luo Hong between April, May and June 2008. These practitioners have been unlawfully sentenced to prison and hard labor. More practitioners were arrested in July 2009. Ms. Liu Jianhong was taken to a labor camp while Mr. Long Yiping, Ms. Zou Qinghua, Mr. Zhou Zhangbao, and Ms. Dai Juan are still held at a detention center.
Practitioners detained at Hunan Women's Prison, Baimalong Women's Forced Labor Camp and Xinkaipu Forced Labor Camp are not allowed family visits.

3. [Jiangbei, Heilongjiang Province] Officials Harass Ms. Li Peisheng
Officials from Jiangbei Shipyard Co. Ltd. in Harbin City went to Ms. Li Peisheng's home on August 30-31 and tried to force her to sign documents to renounce her belief. They threatened, "If you don't sign it, the 610 Office will send you to a brainwashing center."
At a prior time, Li Peisheng was released on medical parole after she went into critical condition due to the severe abuse suffered while in police custody. Her family spent more than 60,000 yuan on medical treatment before she recovered.

4. [Shaodong County, Hunan Province] Zeng Zhiyuan Arrested in Anxinzhou
Police officers arrested Mr. Zeng Zhiyuan from Shaodong County in an Internet café in Anxinzhou. They arrested his wife later at 11:00 p.m.
5. [Dingxing County, Hebei Province] Ms. Lu Xiuying and Ms. Xu Ling Arrested
Officers from the Dingxing County Domestic Security Division ransacked Ms. Lu Xiuying's home early in the morning on August 27, 2009. They arrested Lu Xiuying who is in her 50s, and her daughter-in-law Xu Ling, who was working in the village. Lu Xiuying is now held at Dingxing Custody Center.
6. [Tianjin] Ms. Yi Lu Missing
Forty-seven-year-old Ms. Yi Lu went to Beijing two months ago to visit relatives and has not yet returned home.
7. [Guanshui City, Liaoning Province] Two Practitioners Illegally Arrested
Ms. Xu Deqin from Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province and Mr. Li Guorong from Guanshui City were reported to the police on the evening of August 31, 2009, when they were doing Falun Gong-related activities in Guanshui City. They were taken to Baifangzi Custody Center in Dandong City.
8. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Jiangang Persecuted at Detention Center
The police broke out the windows at Mr. Li Jiangang's home and forced their way inside to arrest him on July 9, 2008. He sustained numerous wounds due to police brutality. After he was taken to Weifang Detention Center because he refused to wear a prisoner's uniform, the officials destroyed his clothing by slashing it into strips with a pair of scissors.
9. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Additional Information on the Persecution of Mr. Ma Chuncheng
The police arrested Jixi City resident Mr. Ma Chuncheng in Daqing City in March 2009. He is held at Daowai No. 1 Detention Center in Harbin City and was transferred to Fangzheng County No. 1 Detention Center in Heilongjiang Province.
Harbin 610 Office, Harbin National Security Division, Fangzheng Domestic Security Division and Fangzheng County Court held a joint trial against Ma Chuncheng at the end of July 2009. It is learned that Ma Chuncheng has been sentenced to ten years in prison on August 13, 2009. He has appealed the sentence.
Ma Chuncheng's sister brought some money intended for him to the detention center on August 26, 2009, but the detention center officials told her he had been sent away for a while. They refused to disclose the new location.
10. [Yanshan County, Yunnan Province] Ms. Ye Yanfen and Ms. Yang Cuifen Arrested
The security guard at the Yanshan County government compound reported Ms. Ye Yanfen and Ms. Yang Cuifen to the police when they handed out Falun Gong informational materials at 9:00 p.m. on August 31, 2009. Officials from the Yanshan County Domestic Security Division and the 610 Office unlawfully arrested the two practitioners. The same group of officials later joined Qiubei County Domestic Security Division when they ransacked the practitioners' homes at 2:00 a.m.
11. [Chongqing] Information on the Illegal Arrest of Ms. Yao Suhui
The police arrested Ms. Yao Suhui, who lived in Xilingchang, Shapingba District, Chongqing, at 3:00 p.m. on August 27, 2009. They subsequently ransacked her home and took her computer(s), Falun Gong books and materials. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
12. [Changle County, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Meirong Sent to Wangcun Forced Labor Camp
Officials from the Changle Domestic Security Division and Yaogou Town Police Station went to Beihao Village and arrested Mr. Liu Anjie and Ms. Liu Meirong from their homes on the morning of July 23, 2009.
Liu Meirong was taken to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp on August 25 and Liu Anjie returned home after having 5,000 yuan extorted from her.

13. [Beijing] Ms. Liu Lei and Mr. Chai Xueqing Illegally Arrested
The police arrested 37-year-old Ms. Liu Lei from her home at Room 41-3-602 inside Xinyijiayuan in Shunyi District, Beijing at 3:00 p.m. on August 26, 2009. She is now being held at Nihe Detention Center in Shunyi District.

Officers from the Beipiao City Police Department National Security Division broke into retired teacher Ms. Bai Xiulan's home on the afternoon of August 31, 2009. They illegally arrested her and took her to a detention center.
16. [Tianjin] Ms. Cong Huifen Held at Hexi Police Department Detention Center
Someone reported 74-year-old Ms. Cong Huifen at 5:30 p.m. on August 26, 2009 when she was distributing Falun Gong materials inside the Xiaobailou Residential Complex in Tianjin. 610 Office agents subsequently arrested her, and officers from the Hexi Police Department in Tianjin ransacked her home. Ms. Cong is now held at Hexi Police Department Detention Center.
17. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Officers from the Fangzi District 610 Office and Domestic Security Division in Weifang City unlawfully arrested Mr. Zhang Xixi, Mr. Zhang Lundong and his wife Zhang Hu at six o'clock on August 31, 2009.
18. [Shandong Province] Mr. Ding Kuangsong Arrested
Domestic security officer Dong Ning arrested Mr. Ding Kuangsong at 9:30 a.m. on August 31, 2009 and ransacked his private business. Ding Kuangsong was laid off from his former job at Shengli Oilfield Telecommunication Station.
19. [Shiyan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Li Yongkai and Ms. Chen Lianqin Arrested
The police illegally arrested Mr. Li Yongkai and Ms. Chen Lianqin from Shiyan City on August 10, 2009, and held them at Shiyan City Labor Camp.

20. [Wenling City, Zhejiang Province] Seven Practitioners Arresting in Another Round of Persecution
Wenling City police officers arrested seven practitioners between 5:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. on September 1, 2009. More detailed information is listed below.
Officers from Taiping Police Station in Wenling City arrested Mr. Jun Hua, Ms. Lin Guilian and her husband Han Fugen. They also ransacked the practitioners' homes.
Officers from Chengbei Police Station arrested Ms. Hui Min and Ms. Zhen Li and ransacked their homes.
Officers from Wenqiao Police Station broke into Ms. Zhen Ya's home in Wugen Town. They arrested Zhen Ya and her daughter, and they ransacked their home.
It has been learned that Lin Guilian, her husband and Jun Hua are currently held at Taiping Police Station in Wenling City; Zhen Li and Hui Min are held at Chengbei Police Station in Wenling City, and Zhen Ya and her daughter are held at Wenqiao Police Station in Wenling City.
21. [Yanbian City, Jilin Province] Ms. Huang Jiazhen Illegally Arrested
Ms. Huang Jiazhen went to her father's home near the Tianqiaoling Forestry Bureau in Wangqing County from her home in Yanji City on August 30, 2009. Two days later, four officers broke into the home of Huang Jiazhen's father on September 1 and took her away. Her 90-year-old father tried to stop the police, and they shoved him aside. Her niece blocked the door and the police threatened to beat her. They pushed Ms. Huang into a car and did not even give her a chance to put on shoes.

22. [Beijing] Ruan Illegally Arrested
Practitioner Ruan did not return home from a truth clarification trip on August 20, 2009. His family received notice on August 22, 2009 that the police had arrested him.
23. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhou Shuping, Mr. Zhang Lundong and Mr. Zhang Xi Arrested
A group of Weifang City 610 Office agents ransacked practitioners' homes in Yijia Village, Huangqipu Town, Fangzi District on the morning of August 31, 2009. They stole many valuable personal items and sent Ms. Zhou Shuping, Mr. Zhang Lundong and 70-year-old Mr. Zhang Xi to the Fangzi District 610 Office to be persecuted.
24. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zou Shifang's Home Ransacked
Mianhuapo Town 610 Office agents Li Fuquan and Tian Taiyuan from Naxi District, Luzhou City joined Zhulin Village Head Wang Anbing as they ransacked Ms. Zou Shifang's home on the morning of August 24, 2009.

25. [Chongqing] Ms. Liu Taiping Arrested Four Times--Her Family Persecuted
The police arrested 68-year-old Ms. Liu Taiping from Anju Town, Tongliang County, Chongqing on August 8, 2009 and she is now held at the Tongliang County Custody Center. This is the fourth time she has been illegally arrested and detained for her belief.
Liu Taiping went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in 2000. Officers from the Tongliang County Police Department took her back to Chongqing and unlawfully held her at a detention center for one year. Later, they sentenced her to two years of hard labor. The labor camp refused to take her because she had high blood pressure, so officers from Anju Town Police Station held Ms. Liu at a so-called nursing home in rural Anju. She broke free with the power of her righteous thoughts.
The same group of police also arrested Liu Taiping's sister and brother-in-law. They interrogated and tortured the couple and only released them after numerous requests from the family. The police arrested Liu Taiping's cousin and her husband only because Liu Taiping had left some items at these relatives' home; they brutally beat the couple until they were left handicapped. Her cousin was disabled from the savage attack and her husband sustained serious internal injuries and passed away two years later.
The police unlawfully arrested Liu Taiping after she had spent six months in exile, and they nearly killed her through torture. Tongliang County Police Department illegally sentenced Ms. Liu to three years in a labor camp and she was taken to Yongchuan Prison in 2003. She returned home in 2006.
26. [Shanghai] Ms. Wang Yumei Disappeared in August 2009
Fifty-six-year-old Ms. Wang Yumei, from northeast China, lived in apartment 302 at Building 2 in Huanlong Apartment on West Gaoke Road in New Pudong District in Shanghai. It is learned that she was last seen leaving home at 2:00 p.m. on August 30, 2009, and she has not returned since.
27. [Qidong County, Hunan Province] Ms. Li Suhua Arrested
The police arrested Ms. Li Suhua from Niaotang Village, Buyunqiao Town at ten o'clock on September 1, 2009.
28. [Gongqingcheng, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Qin Guohua Illegally Arrested
Gongqingcheng police officers broke into Ms. Qin Guohua's home on the morning of August 31, 2009 and arrested her. Her husband has left home to avoid further persecution.

29. [Shanghai] Ms. Liu Dongyun Arrested
The police arrested 33-year-old Ms. Liu Dongyun at Shanghai Train Station Police Station on August 3, 2009. She is now held at Zhabei District Detention Center in Shanghai.
30. [Pingxiang City, Jiangxi Province] Persecution of Mr. Liu Wang and His Mother
Twenty-six-year-old Mr. Liu Wang is currently studying interior design at Pentium Computer School in Pingxiang City. Someone reported him and his mother to the police. Peng Yuhua, Deputy Head of the Pingxiang City Police Department 610 Office led a group of officers as they illegally arrested both mother and son on March 4, 2008. Liu Wang returned home in the afternoon of the next day, but his mother, who is also a Falun Gong practitioner, was held at Pingxiang City's No. 1 Detention Center until March 25, 2008.
The police ransacked Liu Wang's home on March 4, 2008, the same day of the arrest, and stole a computer, a Canon copy machine, a stereo speaker, one DVD writer, 40 blank DVDs, several toner cartridges, two copies of Zhuan Falun, between 10 and 20 Falun Gong articles and several hundred Falun Gong flyers. They also stole 1,300 yuan in cash.
Peng Yuhua and other officials returned to Mr. Liu's home and ransacked it again on July 15, 2009, but could not find any Falun Gong-related materials. Nevertheless, they have continued to harass Liu Wang.
