(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 10 provinces. In this report, 18 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 17 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Pingquan County, Hebei Province] Ms. Fan Guijie and Her Family Harassed
Ms. Fan Guijie lives in Qijiadai Village, Qijiadai Township, Pingquan County. On August 23, 2009, Meng Qingquan, Chief of the Qijiadai Township Police Station, led police to go to her home and harass her. At that time, Ms. Fan was not at home. The police told her husband, Liu Shaoqiang, that Ms. Fan should register at the police station every day. Ms. Fan did not cooperate. On August 29, 2009, Meng Qingquan and other police went to Ms. Fan's home again and threatened her and her family.
2. [Xiaong County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhai Ruie Detained
On March 20, 2009, Ms. Zhai Ruie from Zhouzhuang Village was arrested. On July 10, 2009, the Xiong County Court secretly opened a session against her. Her family went to the police department and the court to seek justice many times. The people in charge shifted the responsibility to each other. Her family asked to visit her many times, however all of their requests were refused. Now Ms. Zhai is still being detained in the Xiong County Detention Center.

3. [Hailar, Inner Mongolia] Mr. Zou Yugui Persecuted Again, Becoming Homeless and Destitute
Mr. Zou Yugui, 39 years old, was an employee of the building maintenance section of the Hailar Railroad Bureau. On July 13, 2009, he was released from the Tumuji Forced Labor Camp. Secretary Zhou of the Disciplinary Inspection Committee of the Railroad Bureau punched and kicked him. The local officers intended to send him to a brainwashing class. Mr. Zou was forced to become homeless and destitute since August 3, 2009. Now his whereabouts are unknown.
On December 13, 2002, Mr. Zou was sent to the Baotou Forced Labor Camp. On October 19, 2007, he was transferred to the Tumuji Forced Labor Camp from the Hailar Railroad Detention Center.
4. [Jilin Province] Liu Xi and His Wife Persecuted
On September 24, 2008, Mr. Liu Xi from Fudong Town was deceived and taken to a brainwashing center. Before then, his wife Ms. Liu Xiuxiang had been detained there. That night, Mr. Liu managed to escape. When he climbed over the iron door, he fell and broke his right hipbone. The expense for the hospital treatment was about 7500 yuan. In November 2009, Mr. Liu was harassed again. He and his wife were followed and monitored.
On the afternoon of July 21, 2009, Cui Riyuan and other policemen from the Fudong Police Station suddenly broke into Mr. Liu's home and ransacked it. They took away some Dafa books and Falun Gong materials. Then they took away the Liu couple and another practitioner, Mr. Gao Changsuo, to the Helong City Detention Center. On July 29, Mr. Liu and his wife were sentenced to one year in forced labor camp, and Mr. Gao Changsuo was sentenced to two years.

7. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Elderly Mr. Zhang Xi and Other Practitioners Arrested
At 9 am on August 31, 2009, Mr. Zhang Xi (70 years old), Mr. Zhang Lundong (56 years old) and Ms. Zhang Huqi (57 years old) from Yijiazhuang Village, Huangqibao Town, Fangzi District were arrested by police from the Fangzi National Security Team. Now their whereabouts are unknown.
8. [Baoqing County, Heilongjiang Province] Many Falun Dafa Practitioners at Farm 852 Arrested
On August 4, 2009, Mr. Lu Huafeng and Ms. Wan Min, who lived at Farm 852 in Baoqing County, were arrested.
From August 7 to 12, 2009, Mr. Hao Yaohua, Ms. Bao Shumian, Ms. Su Yan, Ms. Song Xiuyun and Ms. Zhao Ying were arrested. They were sent to the Hongxinglong Agriculture Administration Bureau.

9. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Yanqiu Arrested
On August 29, 2009, Ms. Wang Yanqiu was arrested while she was walking on the street. Now she is being detained in the Wumahe District Detention Center.
10. [Gaizhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Lu Chuanying Arrested
On the morning of August 27, 2009, Ms. Lu Chuanying from Wanfu Town, Gaizhou City was reported to the police while she was talking to a man about Falun Gong. Police from the Wanfu Police Station and the Gaizhou Police Department took her away. Now she is being detained in the Gaizhou Detention Center.

11. [Meishan, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xia Chunlei Sent to a Forced Labor Camp
Around June 20, 2009, Ms. Xia Chunlei, 34 years old, was arrested by the Meishan 610 Office and the National Security Team because she refused to renounce her belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Her home was ransacked and her computer, printer and other property were taken away. She has been sent to a forced labor camp for a one-year term.
12. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Information about Ms. Li Xiying and Ms. Liu Yulan
At about 9 am on August 15, 2009, Ms. Li Xiying and Ms. Liu Yulan were arrested because they talked to people about Falun Gong. At 12 pm on August 18, 2009, Ms. Liu was sent to the Wangcun Women's Forced Labor Camp in Zibo City, Shandong Province for a 21-month term. Ms. Li was released that afternoon.

13. [Changle County, Shandong Province] Mr. Meng Xianyong Arrested
At 10 am on August 25, 2009, Mr. Meng Xianyong from Nangutong Village, Honghe Town was selling apples in Atuoji. Suddenly, more than 20 people came and took him to the Honghe Police Station without any explanation. Around 11 am, Mr. Meng's home was ransacked while he and his wife were not at home. Mr. Meng is being detained in the Honghe Police Station. His family went to the police station twice and asked for his release. The police not only didn't release Mr. Meng but they also didn't allow the family to visit him.

14. [Yinan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Meng Xianglan Brutally Persecuted at the Jinan Women's Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Meng Xianglan lives in Matachi Township, Yinan County, Shandong Province. At the end of 2008, she was detained in the Yinan Detention Center. At the beginning of 2009, she was transferred to the Jinan Women's Forced Labor Camp. In the Yinan Detention Center, Ms. Meng was brutally tortured. Much of her hair had been pulled out, her face was swollen and she limped. Her family was not allowed to visit her. In the forced labor camp she was forced to sit for a long time in hot summer sun. A large area around her hip festered. At the same time, her younger sister, Ms. Meng Xiangling, was also being detained in the same forced labor camp.
15. [Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Gong Ping Repeatedly Persecuted Over the Years
In July 2000, Ms. Gong Ping went to Beijing and appealed for Falun Gong. She was taken to the Nangang Police Station in Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province, and the police extorted 500 yuan from her.
In 2002, police from the Nangang Police Station ransacked her home twice and took away Dafa books.
On November 6, 2007, Ms. Gong was taken to the Xigemu Detention Center by police from the Sifeng Township Police Station because someone reported her. Two weeks later, she was transferred to a forced labor camp. Two months later, she was released after her family was extorted out of about 13,000 yuan.
16. [Ningan City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wu Xiufang and Ms. Chen Guifang Persecuted
On June 15, 2009, Ms. Wu Xiufang and Ms. Chen Guifang were reported on while they were distributing fliers about Falun Gong on the street. Police from the Ningan National Security Team arrested them. On June 19, 2009, they were released. Ms. Wu Xiufang was extorted out of about 2000 yuan.
17. [Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province] The Court Plans to Open a Session against Mr. Yin Shuzhen, Ms. Xu Shujie and Ms. Yin Qi
On April 10, 2009, Mr. Yin Shuzhen and his wife, Ms. Xu Shujie, went to Zhuhai City to visit their daughter, Ms. Yin Qi. The couple and their daughter, as well as their son-in-law, Mr. Lin Fengbin, were taken away by the Doumen District National Security Team and detained until now. It is said that the Doumen Court planned to open a session against Mr. Yin Shuzhen, Ms. Xu Shujie and Ms. Yin Qi.
18. [Wuchang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Shi Yan Persecuted
Around April 24, 2009, Ms. Shi Yan, from Nanhu Park in Wuchang City, was arrested on the way to work by the Nanhu Police Station. Her home was also ransacked. Ms. Shi Yan was detained in the Erzhigou Detention Center in Dongxihu.
At 10 am on May 5, 2009, Ms. Shi Yan was sent to a forced labor camp for a one-year term.
When Ms. Shi was arrested, her son was preparing his exam and her husband worked out of town.
19. [Wuan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Zhonghai Sent to a Forced Labor Camp
On August 20, 2009, Mr. Li Zhonghai from Kangdong Village, Kangcheng Town, Wuan City, was taken to the Handan Forced Labor Camp for a one-year term. On August 28, 2009, her family received a letter from labor camp personnel, informing them to send a blanket.
20. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Hu Qiuxia Sentenced to Three Years in Prison
The Taihe District Court secretly opened a session against Ms. Hu Qiuxia. Recently, Ms. Hu's family just received a notice saying she had been sentenced to three years in prison.
On May 29, 2009, Ms. Hu Qiuxia was followed and arrested after she went to attend her mother's funeral. Later on, she was detained in the Jinzhou Detention Center.
21. [Wei County, Hebei Province] Ms. Guo Ruiyun Persecuted in a Small Cell.
Ms. Guo Ruiyun was sent to the Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labor Camp in 2008. This June, the camp put her in a small cell and did not allow her family to visit her.
22. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Fu Jianhua Sent to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp.
On the night of August 20, 2009, Ms. Fu Jianhua was arrested in the Weifang Developing District. At midnight, several plainclothes policemen forcibly broke into her home and took away Dafa books, etc. Because her physical condition was poor, the detention center refused to accept her and she was released the next day. On the night of August 24, 2009, the police went to her home again and took her to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp. On August 30, 2009, her family went to the camp and asked for her release. However, the camp did not allowed them to visit her.
