(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 9 provinces. In this report, 7 Falun Dafa practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 18 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Yanji City, Jilin Province] Ms. Piao Shunzi's Home Ransacked
On August 25, 2009, officials from Yanji City Domestic Security Division broke into Ms. Piao Shunzi's home and ransacked it. They confiscated her computer, printer, Dafa books, truth-clarifying materials, and other items.
2. [Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Guifen Arrested
Police arrested Ms. Zhang Guifen from Lala Village, Handian Town, Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province, while she was telling people in Grassland Slope, Wanlong Township, about Falun Gong and the persecution. The police took her to Shuangcheng City Police Station.

3. [Haicheng City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Meihua Arrested and Detained in Forced Labor Camp
On July 18, 2009, Ms. Zhang Meihua from West Pass, Haicheng City, was reported while she was distributing Falun Gong informational materials. Officers from East Pass Police Station arrested her and then held her in the detention center for a month. Later, officials from Haicheng City Domestic Security Division took her to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. They sentenced her to one and a half years of forced labor.
4. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhao Yonghua Arrested
Police arrested Mr. Zhao Yonghua from Huangqigou, Suzigou Town, Xiuyan County, Anshan City.
5. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Guan Shulan Arrested
At 10:00 p.m. on August 28, 2009, Ms. Guan Shulan from Xinmin Village, Xinmin Township, Taihe District, Jinzhou City, was reported while she was informational materials. Police arrested her, and she was detained at the West Suburb Police Station.
6. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Sumei Arrested and Ms. Liu Zonglan Detained in Labor Camp
At noon on August 13, police arrested Ms. Wang Sumei at Quanyuan Square, Shenyang City. She is 50 years old and from Shenyang City.
On June 26, plainclothes police from the Dadong District Domestic Security Division in Shenyang City arrested Ms. Liu Zonglan from Shenyang City. They took her to Taochang Police Station and detained her in a big metal cage. Ms. Liu is currently detained in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.
7. [Tianjin City] Ms. Xu Guomin Sentenced to Three Years of Forced Labor
Ms. Xu Guomin from the Tanggu District in Tianjin City, was sentenced to three years of forced labor. She is now in Banqiao Women' Forced Labor Camp, Tianjin City.

8. [Beijing] Mr. Liu Lei Arrested at Home
At 5:30 p.m. on August 26, 2009, officials from the Shunyi District 610 Office, local police, and management staff in the community all participated in the arrest of Ms. Liu Lei from Beijing while she was at home.
9. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Meng Xianyong Arrested
On August 25, 2009, plainclothes police pursued Mr. Meng Xianyong from Weifan City and later arrested him in Yingqiu Town.
10. [Jiaonan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Zhengmei and Ms. Xue Xiuling Arrested and Taken to Brainwashing Center
On August 14, 2009, police arrested and detained Ms. Wang Zhengmei and Ms. Xue Xiuling, both from Jiaonan City. On August 28, they took the two practitioners to Qingdao City Brainwashing Center.
11. [Dingzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Cao Junru Arrested
At noon, on August 27, 2009, Ms. Cao Junru from Bajiaolang Village, Xicheng District, Dingzhou City, was reported to the police while she was distributing truth-clarifying DVDs. Officers from Mingyuedian Police Station arrested her. She is now in Dingzhou City Detention Center.

12. [Dingzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Jingying Arrested
Around 11:00 p.m. on August 28, 2009, police arrested Ms. Liu Jingying, a chemistry teacher in Xinghua Xilu Middle School.
13. [Linfen City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Junqing Arrested
On August 20, 2009, about five policemen from Yuncheng City arrested Ms. Liu Junqing, who worked as an actor in Linfen City Mei Opera Troupe in Shandong Province.
14. [Hu County, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Wang Hua Arrested and Detained in Labor Camp
On August 17, 2009, Ms. Wang Hua from Huian Chemical Factory was reported to Huian Police Station after she explained the facts about Falun Gong to her colleagues Wang Jian and Yang Jian. Police from Huian arrested her and took her to Lajiatan Forced Labor Camp in Hu County. She is still detained there.

15. [Weiyuan County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Liang Mingshan Arrested and Taken to Brainwashing Center
Around 5:00 p.m. on August 27, 2009, government officials from Yanling Town, Weiyuan County and offciers from South Town Police Station, conspiring with the leaders of Weiyuan County Livestock Bureau, arrested Mr. Liang Mingshan. He is employed at Weiyuan Livestock Bureau and was arrested while working in the office there. Later they took him to Neijiang City Brainwashing Center in Sichuan Province.
16. [Zhijiang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Yao Guoying Arrested and Funds Extorted from Her
Ms. Yao Guoying, about 70 years old, had no income and had to scavenge on the streets to survive. In late 2000, police from Zhijiang City Domestic Security Division ransacked her home, arrested her, and took her to Zhijiang Police Station. They extorted 5,000 yuan from her under the pretense that she would be released from custody for a later trial.
In December, 2008, Ms. Yao was monitored and recorded while she was distributing materials about Falun Gong and the persecution. Police arrested her and interrogated her in Wuliushu Community Office. They often went to her home and harassed her.
17. [Shiyan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Luo Xiuzhen Arrested
Several days ago the police arrested Ms. Luo Xiuzhen, over 60 years old, from Shiyan City. They ransacked her home and took her to Dongfeng CCP School Brainwashing Center.
Several days ago they arrested Ms. Wang Yan and her husband. Now their whereabouts are unknown.
18. [Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Peng Yueheng and Ms. Jiang Weisheng and Her Husband Sentenced to Prison Terms
Mr. Peng Yuheng, an art teacher from Wangcang County, Guangyuan City, was imprisoned in Deyang Prison for four years. On August 8, 2008, police arrested him and held him in Guangyuan City Detention Center. He was sentenced to another four and a half year prison term. His wife divorced him and her daughter is suffering mental depression.
Ms. Jiang Weisheng, a practitioner from Cangxi County, Guangyuan City, was sentenced to a four year prison term in 2006 and detained in Guangyuan Detention Center. On June 4, 2009 she was released. Her husband, a retired soldier, was sentenced to a four-year suspended prison term. In 2006, he was sentenced to a ten-year prison term. He is now in Guangyuan No. 4 Prison.
Police arrested Mr. Tao Qihua, a retired military officer, government employee from Cangxi County, Guangyuan City. He was detained for one month and has now returned his home.
19. [Zunyi City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Xiao Jieping Tortured in Detention Center
Ms. Xiao Jieping from Zunyi City, Guizhou Province, was reported while she was telling people the facts about FalunGong in Jinsha County. Officers from Jinsha Police Station arrested her and detained her in Jinshan Detention Center. She is now being tortured in jail.

20. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Zhang Yaoli Detained in Shanghai City
On July 20, 2009, officials from the Jiading District in Shanghai City conspired with the local Police Bureau and the State Security Bureau to arrest Ms. Zhang Yaoli from Changsha City. She has been held in the Jiading District Detention Center in Shanghai for over 40 days.

21. [Xinghe County, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Su Gaitao Arrested
On the evening of August 12, 2009, officers from Xinghe County Police Station arrested Ms. Su Gaitao from Zhuanghongdian Village, Xinghe County, while she was distributing informational materials in Xinghe County.
