(Clearwisdom.net) After Mr. Jiang Xiqing from Jiangjin, Chongqing City, was persecuted to death in Xishanping Forced Labor Camp, his daughter, Jiang Hong, sought justice through legal means. Officials in the Politics and Law Committee and the 610 Office in Jiangjin did not want to be exposed further, so they orchestrated the arrest of Ms. Jiang.
Ms. Jiang's parents were Falun Gong practitioners in Jiangjin. In May 2008, they were both illegally sentenced. On January 28, 2009, her father, Jiang Xiqing, died as a result of persecution in Xishanping Forced Labor Camp. The circumstances surrounding his death are unclear. Seven hours after being notified of his death, his family found his body still warm in the freezer. Labor camp officials did not give any reasonable explanation for his death and had his body cremated without his family's consent. They even forged records of a postmortem examination, designated people to monitor and even threaten his family, ransacked their home, and beat the attorney, all to prevent his children from seeking justice for his death.
After Mr. Jiang Xiqing's death, Ms. Jiang Hong; her husband, Xia Buchu; and their uncle, Jiang Dehua, sued all levels of the judiciary and government in Chongqing City. The Politics and Law Committee and the 610 Office searched everywhere to try to find her. They said that if she didn't come back, they would punish her more severely. On June 4, Wan Fenghua, the secretary of the Politics and Law Committee in Jiangjin, said that if Ms. Jiang did not show up within seven days, they would arrest her.
At around noon on August 28, 2009, as Ms. Jiang was leaving the New Era Grocery Store on Buxing Street in Yangjiaping with her family, she was arrested by Mu Chaohen from the Jiangjin National Security Team and another five or six others. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Jiang Hong, 41 years old, started to practice Falun Gong in1998. She was incarcerated in Chongqing City Women's Prison for three years for telling people the truth about Falun Gong. Released in 2003, she no longer had a job when she got home. Since 2008, she has done accounting for a business in Jiangjin. Her income is just 500 yuan a month. In order to keep Mr. Jiang Xiqing's family from seeking justice through legal means, Wan Fenghua, the secretary of the Politics and Law Committee in Jiangjin, has regularly threatened and persecuted his family. They designated people to locate Ms. Jiang Hong and monitored the homes of Ms. Jiang, Jiang Ping, and Jiang Hongbin more closely.
