(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in fourteen cities or counties in nine provinces. In this report, fifteen practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least seven practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Luotian, Hubei Province] Fan Shuilin Arrested, Whereabouts Unknown
Mr. Fan Shuilin, in his 50s, was a teacher at Luotian Experimental Middle School. Because of his firm belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, the "610 Office" in Luotian subjected him to severe persecution and his family was broken apart as a result. In early August this year, the 610 Office and local police secretly arrested him and his whereabouts have since remained unknown.
2. [Weifang, Shandong Province] Gao Meixiang Arrested and Sent to Detention Center
Ms. Gao went out to pay her gas bill at 3:00 p.m. on August 23 this year. However, her family didn't see her return home, and she was still missing the next morning. Her daughter and son-in-law went to the local police station in the afternoon to report her missing. The police told them that she had been sent to the local detention center. Her husband and daughter then went to the detention center to deliver her clothes. However, the detention center refused to take the clothes, but demanded money instead.
3. [Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province] Zhou Xufang Seized by Police
While Ms. Zhou was sending a text message to clarify the truth about Falun Gong on August 11, 2009, the police from Xinpu District tracked her down via her cell phone signal and arrested her. She is still in custody.

4. [Anshan, Liaoning Province] Zhao Yonghua Held in Xiuyan County Detention Center
Ms. Zhao is a resident of Suzigou, Xiuyan County, Anshan City. While distributing information in Hongqiyingzi Village, Xiuyan County on August 28, she was reported and subsequently illegally arrested by Hongqiyingzi Village Police Station. At present, she is being held in Xiuyan County Detention Center. She has a brother who is nearly 80 years old at home and, with her detained, has no one to take care of him.

5. [Beijing] Dong Guangwen Faces Illegal Charges
Mr. Dong, in his 50s, is a practitioner from Yingzezhou Residential Area in Nancaiyuan, Yanqing County, Beijing. While he was working in his company on April 21, 2009, agents from Yanqing 610 Office and Chengguan Police Station apprehended him and sent him to Beijing Detention Center. Recently he was taken back to Yanqing Detention Center to face illegal charges.
6. [Heilongjiang Province] Facts of Persecution of Xu Nuolan
Ms. Xu Nuolan and Ms. Xu Yaoxian went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong on July 18, 2000 and both were unlawfully arrested. After extorting 110 yuan from each of them, the Beijing Suburb Police Department asked Jiamusi City's Beijing Liaison Office to take the two practitioners back. Four days later, Jiamusi policeman Ai Xiaowei and a local T.B hospital sent them to Nangang Police Station where the police further extorted over 8,000 yuan from Xu Nuolan.
A few months later, Xu Nuolan decided to go to Beijing again to appeal. However, she was captured on December 11, 2000 in Shenyang on her way to Beijing. Shenyang police extorted 250 yuan from her and had Nangang Police Station take her back to Jiamusi. Xu was made to pay an additional 1,000 yuan while being held at the police station. During the first 10 days of the 2001 Chinese New Year holiday, the police officers went to her home to harass her every day. In June 2001 alone, Nangang Police Station ransacked her home 5-6 times. Xu was reported in May 2002; at that time, agents from Shoufeizhanluxi Police Station went to ransack her home and illegally detained her for 15 days. In October 2005, three agents from Nangang Police Station went to Xu's home to harass her.
Pretending to be potential tenants, agents from Nangang Police Station knocked on Xu's door one day in June 2007. As soon as they stepped in, they snapped pictures of Xu without her consent.
7. [Zhumadian, Henan Province] Ms. He Xiuzhen Forced to Leave Home
Ms. He, 54, is a villager of Shiyangwang Village, Quanzhai Town, Siping County, Zhumadian City, Henan Province. She was sent to a labor camp due to her practice of Falun Gong. She left home shortly after the Chinese New Year holiday last year. As of now, she still has not returned home.
8. [Qingan, Heilongjiang Province] Elderly Liang Guifen and Lan Xinxiang Unlawfully Arrested and Detained
Ms. Liang, 72, and Ms. Lan, 70 went to Xiaoyuyao Village, Minle Township to inform people about the persecution of Falun Gong on the morning of August 29, 2009. Wang Xingyun and other agents from Qingan County Domestic Security Division later illegally arrested the two elderly women. After keeping them in the local police department for a while, they sent them to a detention center.

9. [Linying County, Henan Province] Niu Wenxue Captured by Police
Linying County Domestic Security Division Head, Wu Huili led a group of people to break into the home of Mr. Niu on August 25, 2009. After ransacking his home, they took him to Linying County Detention Center.

10. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Police Extort 20,000 Yuan from Lin Guilan's Family
While Ms. Lin was putting up informational posters on the afternoon of June 17, 2009, she was illegally arrested and taken to Penpu Police Station. When her family went to ask for her release, the police station and Xunyang District Police Department Domestic Security Division together extorted 20,000 yuan from them.

11. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Shi Min Arrested, Whereabouts Unknown
Ms. Shi is in her 30s. After agents from Xinghualu Police Station unlawfully arrested her on April 24 this year, there has been no news of her whereabouts.
Ms. Shi's husband Jiang Bo is also a Dafa practitioner. Jinzhou District Court handed him an eight-year sentence on April 28, 2001 and ordered him to serve time in Ward One of Panjin Prison. His term was supposed to expire on April 28, 2009, but it remains unclear whether or not he has been released.

13. [Qingdao, Shandong Province] Three Women Sent to Wangcun Labor Camp
Three women practitioners from Jimo City were sent to Wangcun Labor Camp in Zibo on August 27, 2009. Ms. Zhang Xiuxin and Ms. He Xiuxiang were both given one-year terms and Ms. Sun Guohong was given a two-year term.
14. [Linghai City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Jin Bowen Faces Unlawful Trial
Mr. Jin was an official of Linghai City Bureau of Statistics. Six plainclothes policemen went to his workplace on the morning of July 20, 2009 and apprehended him. Currently he is being held in Linghai Detention Center. It was reported that Linghai Court plans to open a trial on him, between August 31 and September 2.

15. [Yanzhou, Shandong Province] Details of Arrest of Zhang Fengbao and His Wife
Two plainclothes policemen broke into the couple's home around five in the afternoon of August 26 this year. Mr. Zhang was not at home at the time and the policemen ransacked his home, stealing belongings worth over 10,000 yuan. While the police were turning the home upside down, Zhang's son and his family returned. The younger Zhang argued with the police, but he was rudely taken away along with his wife and child. Then the police went to the elder Mr. Zhang's workplace to get him. However, with the help of his colleagues, he managed to escape. Mr. Zhang's daughter-in-law was released the next morning, but his son Zhang Chao is still in custody. Mr. Zhang's wife Wei Maoxia was released on August 30.
16. [Bayan Naor League, Inner Mongolia] Xu Liying Detained
Ms. Xu, 59, is a resident of Linhe District of Bayan Naor League. Four policemen broke into her home at noon on August 25, 2009 while she was tending to her bedridden father who is over 80 years old. The gang took her to Linhe District Detention Center and have denied her family visits.
Ms. Xu was once illegally arrested in 2001 for distributing truth-clarification materials and subsequently held in Huhhot Women's Labor Camp for three years.

18. [Weifang, Shandong Province] Police Arrest and Extort Money from Zhang Guiqin
Ms. Zhang is a resident of Xiaoshaoyujia Village in Jiulongjieban. Agents from Fangzi District Domestic Security Division and Jiulongjieban Police Station broke into her home at around 11 a.m. on August 26, 2009. The gang stole several Dafa books and truth-clarification materials and then sent Zhang to Fangzi District Domestic Security Division. They kept her there for 24 hours and extorted 5,000 yuan from her before releasing her.
19. [Yunnan Province] Ai Han Still Missing
Mr. Ai, about 28 years old, is of Dai ethnicity from Yunnan. He had been playing folk music in Beijing to make a living. However, his family lost contact with him at the beginning of this August. At this time, his whereabouts still remain unknown to his family. It is learned that he was arrested along with a woman practitioner from Guangxi Autonomous Region at his residence in Shanghai, around August 6.
