(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 6 provinces. In this report, 20 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 14 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Zhuolu County, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Xiping and Other Practitioners Arrested.
On May 9, 2009, Ms. Wang Xiping and Ms. Chen Yuhua from Kangzhuang Village, Zhuolu County, were reported on by villagers while they were explaining the facts about Falun Gong in Xiahongsi Village. They were arrested by officers from the Baodai Police Station and their homes were ransacked. The police took away Dafa books, Master Li's pictures, and MP3 players. They also extorted 2000 yuan from Ms. Wang's husband and several thousand yuan from Ms. Chen's family. The two practitioners were released until that night.
At 8 a.m. on August 1, 2009, Wang Gang, Chief of the Baodai Police Station, andfour or five officers rushed into Ms. Wang Xiping's home. Without following any legal procedurexs, the police arrested Ms. Wang again. Now her whereabouts are unknown.

2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] On August 3, 2009, Ms. Lin Huizhu Taken Away by Plainclothes Police at the Temporary Worker Market near Qiansan Road.

On August 2, 2009, Ms. Yaojing from Nancheng and another new practitioner, Ms. Luo Huilan, were reported on while they were distributing truth-clarification materials in Fenyi, Yichun. They were taken to the local detention center.

4. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wan Xiulan Arrested.
Ms. Wan Xiulan from the Dongling District is 66 years old. On the afternoon of July 27, 2009, she was arrested. Now she is being detained in the Shenyang Detention Center.
5. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Yurong Taken to the Fushun Brainwashing Center Again.
On August 6, 2007, Ms. Li Yurong was reported on and arrested while she was explaining the facts about Falun Gong in public. Later on she was detained in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for two years. Her term supposedly ended on August 5, 2009. However, her term was extended for five days because she had not been "transformed." Now she is being detained in the Fushun Brainwashing Center.
6. [Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Yingchun and Mr. Li Shimin's Home Ransacked.
On August 4, 2009, Chief He Liansheng and his men from the Lequn Township Administration Office,
along with officers from the local police station, rushed into the home of Ms. Liu Yingchun and Mr. Li Shimin. They ransacked the home and took away Dafa books and Master Li's pictures.

7. [Tianjin City] The Baodi Court Sentenced Mr. Wang Jun to Four Years in Prison.
8. [Anguo City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Xiaoying Arrested.
At noon on August 10, 2009, Ms. Li Xiaoying was eating her lunch. Xu Yawei from the Anguo National Security Team, Qi Xianghui from the First Criminal Police Team, and about a dozen others took her away. Now she is being detained in the Anguo Detention Center.

11. [Jiahe County, Hunan Province] Mr. Guo Huisheng, Ms. Li Jumei and Ms. Liao Hongcui Detained.
On the night of August 6, 2009, Ms. Li Jumei, Ms. Liao Hongcui, and Mr. Guo Huisheng were arrested by police from the 610 Office and the National Security Team. They are being held in the Jiahe Detention Center.

12. [Caohu City, Anhui Province] Mr. He Xingang Sentenced to Four Years in Prison.
Before the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Mr. He Xingang was arrested at South Gate Rotary in Wuwei County by national police, who were waiting there. His car was confiscated, and his family had about 100,000 yuan extorted from them. In August 2009, the Caohu Court secretly sentenced him to four years in prison.

14. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Recent Information about Ms. Wang Xiuyun and Mr. Liu Tianlai
On August 24, 2009, Ms. Wang Xiuyun was arrested by the National Security Team of the Chengde Police Department. Ten days ago, she was transferred to the Chengde Detention Center from the Longhua County Detention Center.
On July 17, 2009, Mr. Liu Tianlai was arrested by the National Security Team of the Chengde Police Department. He was sent to the Chengde Forced Labor Camp for an 18-month term.
