(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 5 provinces. In this report, at least 17 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Beijing] Ms. Lin Fuhua and Other Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested in Haidian District
At 1:00 p.m. on July 1, 2009, Ms. Lin Fuhua from Xiqing District, Tianjin, Ms. Zhang Yuming from Tongzhou District, Beijing and Mr. Li Wenju from Xianghe County, Langfang City, Hebei Province went shopping at the Zhongguancun Computer Center in Haidian District, Beijing. One of them installed some software for a vendor that circumvented China's Internet blockade. Later the vendor reported the three practitioners to police. The police took them away and confiscated the computers, printers and portable hard drives they had just bought. Currently they are being detained in the Haidian Detention Center.
2. [Sanmenxia City, Henan Province] Ms. Xu Jing Taken Away by the Personnel from the 610 Office on August 4, 2009--Her Whereabouts Unknown
3. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xue Qiuyun and Ms. Yin Xiangmin Arrested
At 2:00 p.m. on August 7, 2009, Ms. Xie Qiuyun and Ms. Yin Xiangmin from Jiezhuang Town, Rencheng District, Jining City, Shandong Province were reported while they were explaining the facts about Falun Gong. Police from the Taiping Police Station in Zoucheng City took them away and ransacked their homes. Now they are being detained in the Zoucheng Detention Center.
4. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chen Wenhua Detained in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp
On July 23, 2009, Ms. Chen Wenhua was arrested by officers from the Longfeng Police Station. On July 24, 2009, she was sent to the Nangou Detention Center. On August 5, 2009, she was sent to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for a one-year term.
5. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zong Lirong Arrested
Ms. Zong Lirong works in the Dalian Academy of Agricultural Science in Liaoning Province. On July 21, 2009, five policemen took her away from her workplace, and she has not been heard from since.

Mr. Luan Yicai is a teacher at the Laiwu 17th High School. On July 10, 2009, he was arrested for distributing Shen Yun DVD's.

8. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Additional Information about Ms. Tong Shuxian and Ms. Lan Suchun
At 2:00 p.m. on July 26, 2009, Ms. Tong Shuxian and Ms. Lan Suchun from Hushitai Town, Shenbeixin District, Shenyang City, both of whom are about 70 years old, were reported while they were explaining the facts about Falun Gong near a senior citizens center. They were taken away by police from the Hushitai Police Station. Their homes were also ransacked.
At 3:00 p.m. on July 28, 2009, the two practitioners were taken away by police from the Shenbeixin District Police Department and sent to the Shenyang Detention Center.

9. [Chongqing City] Ms. Zhou Bingzhi, Mr. Yin Ge and Other Practitioners Arrested
Police from the Wanzhou District Police Department, who were accompanied by local neighborhood committee members, arrested Ms. Zhou Bingzhi, Mr. Yin Ge, Mr. Guo Zhouqing, Ms. Zhang Chengying and other practitioners. Now they are being detained in the Zhoujiaba Detention Center in Wanzhou District.
10. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Additional Information about the Arrest of Ms. Shi Ningyao and Ms. Wu Yongmei.
Ms. Shi Ningyao from the Dalian Development District was taken from her office by five or six plainclothes policemen from the Wucaicheng Police Station at 4:30 p.m. on July 4, 2009. That night, Ms. Wu Yumei was taken from her home by police.
Ms. Wu Yumei is being detained in the Dalian Detention Center. The guards are not allowing her family to visit her.
