(Clearwisdom.net) On the morning of June 17, 2009, police from the Shunhe Township Police Station and the State Security Team of Minquan County, Henan Province went to Lilou Village to arrest Dafa practitioner Li Zhengju, because he had written letters about Falun Gong. Li Zhengju fled and the police pursued him, firing bullets. Mr. Li managed to escape but was forced to remain homeless in order to avoid being arrested from home.
Ever since the Chinese Communist Party started its persecution against Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, Li Zhengju has suffered in various ways. Below is a brief account of the persecution he has endured:
On January 7, 2002, the village party secretary, Li Shenghai, reported Li Zhengju for showing a DVD deconstructing the official propaganda footage of the 2001 Self-Immolation incident on Tiananmen Square. That night, the director of the Shunhe Township Police Station Che Yaodong, police officer Lu Yingnan and another six officers broke into and ransacked Li Zhengju's home. Li Zhengju escaped, but could not return and was forced to remain homeless.
On May 1, 2003 at 8:00 p.m., Li Zhengju was pulled out of his car by director Chu Lei, deputy director Li Changyu and another four police officers while he was passing the Township Municipal Office. They locked him up in an iron cage. Li Zhengju managed to remove his handcuffs and escaped from the police station.
In October 2003 at 7:00 p.m., director of the Shunhe Township Police Station Chu Lei and deputy director Li Changyu arrested Li Zhengju and took him to the Minquan County Detention Center. Mr. Li went on a hunger strike for eight days before being released.
On February 13, 2004, the deputy director of Shunhe Township Police Station, Li Changyu, deceived Li Zhengju into coming with him to the police station. Li Chanyu then ordered police officer Huang Zhongyi from the Minquan County State Security Team to take Li Zhengju to the Minquan County Detention Center. The next morning, Li Changyu and police officer Lu Yingnan sent Mr. Li to Xuchang Labor Camp for a one-year sentence .
On March 1, 2005, when Li Zhengju was giving out truth-clarifying material on his way home in Cao County, Shandong Province, a police officer reported him. He was taken to the Niji Township Police Station the same night, where he was beaten and interrogated by the head of the State Security Team Li Bing, Tian Yongqiang and many other police officers. Later, Li Zhengju was sentenced to four years' imprisonment and was sent to Taian Prison in Shandong Province on August 20, 2005.
Li Zhengju started to practice Falun Gong at the end of 1996. Since then, he has been living according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. His body and mind were purified in a short period of time. He had suffered from migraines for years, which ceased after he took up the practice.
