(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Liu Jingmei, 50, was an employee of the Tractor Parts Plant of Zhuge Town, Yishui County, Linyi City, Shandong Province. Over the past ten years, she has been illegally arrested by local officials and police officers several times because she persisted in her belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She has had funds extorted from her several times and was detained in a forced labor camp on two occasions, for about six years in total. In the labor camps and brainwashing centers, she suffered indescribable torture.
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999. The first time Ms. Liu was arrested, the authorities tried to force her give up her belief in Falun Gong. Zhuge Town CCP Committee Secretary Tian, Mayor Wang Jianhua, with Song Yuwang and Ruan Bo made her stand in the sun with her nose touching a wall, and both arms held straight out. They put bricks on her hands and deprived her of sleep for three days and nights. She was also had 3,000 yuan extorted from her.
In late September 2000, she was detained at the Gaozhuang Town Brainwashing Center and brutally tortured. She was forced to run with stones in her sleeves, to stay in a half-squatting position for prolonged periods, and burned with cigarettes--among other forms of torture. On one occasion four or five people punched and kicked her and then beat her with batons. She was later cheated out of 4,000 yuan before being released. After she got home, she was frequently harassed.
Ms. Liu traveled to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in late 2000, and was arrested on Tiananmen Square. She started a hunger protest and refused to give her name and address. The police ordered prisoners in the detention center to beat her, and she was later sent to the brainwashing center in Fengjiazhuang, Yishui County, and was detained for two weeks. After March 10, 2001, she was again detained in a forced labor camp, this time for three years.
On December 6, 2004, she and five other practitioners were arrested when they were clarifying the truth to the people in Tianbao Township, Lu County. The director of Lu County Detention Center, along with several police officers, beat her with rubber batons. Ms. Liu's bottom turned black, and she had blood in her urine for four to five days. After she was detained in Yishui Detention Center for a month, she was sent to Jinan Women's First Labor Camp and detained again for three years.
In the labor camp, she was not allowed to go to sleep until 3:00 a.m. and was forced to get up at 5:00 a.m. After six months, in June 2005, she was transferred to the Fifth Team--the strictly administered team--that focuses on persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners. All sorts of criminal prisoners monitor the practitioners closely with all the doors and windows closed. They are not allowed to use the bathroom, take showers, or to see anyone. She didn't even get to change her clothes for over forty days.
After Ms. Liu held a hunger protest for three days, she was isolated from the group and ordered to work. She refused, and shouted, "Falun Dafa is great!" She was then hung up by her handcuffs in confinement for more than three hours.
Officer Wang Shuzhen grabbed her hair to forcibly feed her and pulled out a handful of her hair. After six days of confinement, she was sent to a brainwashing center and forced to sit on the floor with both hands tied to the chair, with the back of her neck against the chair in such a way that she could not lift up her head. She was tied like this for four days and nights. This resulted in injury to her neck. She could not lift her head up for more than two weeks. Her arms were still painful and numb more than two months later.
Officers Duan Xiaoting and Ma Wenyan hung her on a metal bed. The two officers laid in the bed to watch her. She was hung on the metal bed during the day and tied onto a chair at night.
At other times the officers drew a circle and forced her to stand in the circle to watch a video slandering Falun Gong. She was forced to stand up the entire day. At first she was allowed to sleep for two hours a day, but later she was not allowed to sleep at all. Her legs became quite swollen from ankle to thigh due to the prolonged standing.
After Ms. Liu was persecuted in the brainwashing center for a month, she was transferred to the First Team to do intensive physical work for twelve hours a day.
