(Clearwisdom.net) After reading Teacher's "Fa Teaching at the 2009 Greater New York International Fa Conference," I realized how broad Teacher's compassion is. There has never been such compassion in the universe before.
Teacher mentioned that Falun Dafa practitioners should "open their hearts wide" ("Fa Teaching at the 2009 Greater New York International Fa Conference") to save sentient beings. Teacher said:
"Even though it was the old forces that arranged this vile persecution, it is nonetheless on account of Dafa disciples that the Chinese people have endured such disgrace and suffering. So from that perspective, shouldn't you go and save them? Shouldn't Dafa disciples open their hearts wide? Aren't even those who carry out the persecution, with the exception of the head of the evil, themselves targeted by the persecution?" I was born into a very privileged family. My father is a retired officer. My mother was a teacher in a very prestigious school. Her social environment was very broad. People around her talked about personal gain and profit, and exhibited all sorts of material interests, causing my mother to develop a strong sense of vanity. My parents were heavily involved in our lives. They arranged everything for us: the school we attended, the company for which we worked, and the friends we made in society. We never made any decisions. I am forty years old now, with my own family, but still cannot free myself from my parent's control. I continue to act very weakly in the front of them.
Such a strong attachment to my parents has interfered with my cultivation. After the Chinese government banned Falun Dafa in 1999, my parents forced me to write a Guarantee Statement and make a choice. In 2001, I was sent to a forced labor camp. My home was searched. My parents were very scared and thought the police might search my home because I had Dafa books and DVDs. During my imprisonment, they ruined all my books and DVDs. My mother offered others in an attempt to please the police and release me early. Based on the evil Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) philosophy, in order to be free, people have to yield to the CCP and slander Dafa. I refused. My mom cried and scolded me when she visited me. No parents were allowed to see practitioners except my mother, because she used her social connections to see me every week and tried to force me to give up Dafa. She adopted the same attitude as the CCP: She said lots of bad words about Dafa and both my parents slandered Dafa. They did not listen to me when I told them that Dafa is great. I felt very disappointed for them. After reading Teacher's "Fa," my complaints about my parents vanished. I also felt very embarrassed of my narrow thinking. I realized that while my parents acted against Dafa, they were also being persecuted by the CCP. Because I did not let go of so many of my attachments, the old forces used them to test me. Consequently, my parents were controlled by the evil elements. Teacher said: "...it is nonetheless on account of Dafa disciples that the Chinese people have endured such disgrace and suffering." The old forces knew my weakness was in my relationship with my parents, so the evil increased my tribulations. "You didn't cherish Dafa," they might have reasoned, "so we will let your father burn your books." "You fear your parent's reactions, so let them go to the forced labor camp and brainwashing center to see you; they will cry and slander Dafa to test you." My parents believed the CCP's lies. Any close family member of a practitioner is used to test that practitioner, and this is what was happening with my parents. They acted against Dafa and as a result, they were persecuted. This is the disturbance arranged by the old forces.
Teacher said:
"My Dafa disciples... you are distributed over a large expanse (gesturing), and you are each now responsible for your respective area of this world. Changes in your thinking can lead to changes in your surrounding environment. How the people in your region are is a result of the extent to which you have clarified the truth to them. The environment is shaped by your human attachments. When the environment is bad, it is because you made it that way. Of course, if you now say, "Then I will act like a god," and you start to be irrational, then it will be another case of self-wrought interference. You must be rational, go about things with confidence and poise, and know well what you should do." ("Fa Teaching at the 2009 Greater New York International Fa Conference")
As a cultivator during the Fa-rectification period, I should know the environment is related to my "xinxing." People around me are waiting to be saved. I have the responsibility to save then no matter what their attitude or what they have done. I should open my heart to save them.
