(Clearwisdom.net) In late July 2009, the Tancheng County Police in Linyi City, Shandong Province arrested sixteen-year-old Miss Sun Xinjuan because she distributed materials about Falun Gong. She is currently detained at Linyi City Brainwashing Center.
Miss Sun Xinjuan is a student at No. 6 Middle School of Tancheng County. Her parents, Sun Dejian and Zhang Binglan from Maoci Village, Tancheng County, also practice Falun Gong. During the summer exam, she took some truth-clarification materials from her mother to leave at school for her teachers and fellow students to take. She hoped that they could learn the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong and not be misled by the Chinese Communist Party's fabricated lies and propaganda.
At that time, a higher level education administrator went to inspect the school and found the materials. The school authorities recognized Miss Sun on the surveillance tape and reported her to the local 610 Office and the local police department. The school authorities also ordered her teacher to take her to the Tancheng County's Dongguan Police Station.
Miss Sun suffered detention, threats, and interrogation by the Tancheng City 610 Office and police. She was temporarily released home. However, on July 25, 2009, she was taken from home by the Tancheng 610 Office and sent to Linyi City Brainwashing Center where she is still detained.
Zhu Jun and policemen from the Tancheng County 610 Office and the Tancheng County Police Department's National Security Team also went to Maoci Village to arrest Miss Sun's parents and ransack their home. They were taken to Tancheng County Detention Center. Her father, Sun Dejian has been released after one month of detention. However, her mother, Zhang Binglan, is still detained. She has been on a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention since she arrived at the detention center.
At the same time that Miss Sun's parents were taken into custody, practitioner Ma Guiju in her 70's was arrested and practitioners Sun Changfu and Huang Guilan's home was ransacked.
Practitioner Ma Guiju's husband is disabled and bedridden. He has not been able to take care of himself and relied solely on his wife. After Ms. Ma was arrested, her husband's life was in imminent danger. His doctor wrote a letter about his condition and told the authorities that he required constant care. However, the authorities still detained Ms. Ma for more than 40 days. She has just recently been released.
