1. [Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Lu Demei Unable to Walk Due to Severe Torture
Ms. Lu Demei is retired from the Hebei Forestry Bureau Industry. On July 21, 2009, she was arrested by officers from the Hebei Detention Center. On July 29, 2009, after being severely tortured, she was unable to walk and needed two people to support her to go to the bathroom. When the police finally released her, her husband had to carry her out of the detention center.
2. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Meng Shuzhen Sentenced to One-Year Prison Term
Ms. Meng Shuzhen, 50, lives in the Daowai District, Harbin City. She was arrested and taken from her home by Wang Qiang, Assistant Chief, and officers from Daowai District Sanke Police Station, along with personnel from the Area Residents Committee. Ms. Meng was taken to the Harbin City Detention Center and later sentenced to a one-year prison term.

Ms. Cong Jianfen, 52, and Ms. Lu Zhongxia, 38, are residents of Hantingkaiyuan Banangu Village, Weifang City. In the afternoon on July 30, 2009, when they were clarifying the truth about misconceptions concerning Falun Gong to villagers, they were arrested by officers from the local police station and detained in Weifang Detention Center.

4. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Practitioners Arrested and Money Extorted by Police
Mr. Gao Shuzhen lives in the Zhaoge Area in Renzhao Town. On May 12, 2009, he was arrested by the staff of the Pingdu 610 Office and officers from the Pingdu Police Department and Renzhao Police Station. Police ransacked his home, confiscated all of his Falun Dafa materials, and extorted 2,000 yuan from his family members.
On July 23, 2009, Mr. Ceng Guangyu was arrested by the staff of the Pingdu 610 Office and officers from the Pingdu Police Department and the Guxianzhenwei Police Station. Police ransacked his home and confiscated all of his Falun Dafa materials. He was detained for 15 days, and police extorted 16,000 yuan from his family.
5. [Huanghua City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Shenghai and Members of His Family Arrested
Mr. Wang Shenghai and his family live in Huanghua City. Around 8:00 a.m. on July 27, 2009, he was reported and arrested by officers from Zhongjielingang Police Department and Kenqu Police Station when he went to the Zhongjiehuzhuang Village market to hand out Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs to the villagers. Mr. Wang and his mentally deficient daughter were taken into custody at the Zhongjieken District Police Station.
Around 4:00 p.m., more than 20 officers from the Zhongjielingang Police Department, Huanghua Public Security Bureau, and Huanghuachengguan Police Station broke into and ransacked Mr. Wang's house, confiscating a DVD player, Falun Dafa books, and various personal items. Police also arrested his wife and his brother in-law. Mr. Wang is being held in Huanghua City Police Department but his wife and brother in-law were released.

6. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhong Yumei Arrested
Ms. Zhong Yumei, around 60 years old, is retired from Jining Textile Mill. On May 16, 2009, she was arrested by local police. Her whereabouts is unknown.
7. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Qian Mei Sentenced
On July 2, 2009, Ms. Qian Mei was sentenced to a three-year prison term. She is being held in the Hebei Women's Prison.
8. [Shanxi Province] Ms. Cui Yutao and Another Practitioner Arrested
In the morning on July 29, 2009, Ms. Cui and another practitioner were reported and arrested by officers from the Yunquan Sub Bureau. She was clarifying the truth in the Datong Mining District Government building area. The two practitioners are being held in the Datong Mining District Detention Center.

9. [Yinchuan City, Qinghai Province] Ms. Gu Jingjie Arrested
Ms. Gu lives in Yinchuan City. On the afternoon of July 20, 2009, she was arrested by local police when she was posting truth clarification flyers in Yinchuan City. No one knows where she is being held.
10. [Qinchun County, Hubei Province] Mr. Jiang Yongjun Denied the Right to Work
At the end of 2008, the Qinchun County discipline inspection commission, the personnel bureau, and the sanitation bureau jointly put out a classified advertisement seeking medical care personnel. Dr. Jiang passed the pre-employment tests and completed the physical examination and his name was later announced on Qinchun television. After he completed the employment paper work, they told him he would not be hired because he practiced Falun Gong.

On July 28, 2009, Ms. Liu Xiaolian and Ms. Yu Lamei, residents of Wuchang, Wuhan City, were taken into custody by the local police while the women were distributing flyers about Falun Gong in the Wuchang Yangyuan area. They are being held in the Wuhan City First Detention Center.
12. [Huangshi City, Hubei Province] Mr. Shi Song's Teeth Knocked out by Guard at Forced Labor Camp
In July 13, 2009, Mr. Shi Song was arrested and imprisoned in the Shayang Forced Labor Camp, number nine production brigade. Each day, labor camp authorities assigned four inmates to monitor Mr. Shi's every move, forcing him to give up his practice of Falun Gong. In July 19, 2009, a forced labor camp guard knocked out all of Mr. Shi's teeth, and he is now unable to eat.

On June 28, 2009, Mr. Guan Zhenlin and two other practitioners, residents of Zhangye City, were illegally sentenced by the Chinese Communist Party in Linze County. Mr. Guan was sentenced to three years, Mr. Ma Zhongwen to two years, and a female practitioner by the last name of Zhang to a two-year prison term.

15. [Linghai City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhu Baojuan Secretly Taken to Prison
Ms. Zhu Baojuan, 40, is a resident of Jiangye County, Linghai City. On July 1, 2008, before the Olympic Games, she was arrested at her home by the Linghai City Police Department and later sentenced to a five-year prison term by the Linghai City court. In July 21, 2009, she was secretly taken to the Shenyang Dabei Prison by the Linghai City Police Department and Linghai City Detention Center.
16. [Linghai City, Liaoning Province] Supplemental Information on Mr. Jin Bowen's Arrest
Mr. Jin Bowen is 57 years old and lives in Linghai City. On July 20, 2009, he was taken into custody at work, City Statistics Bureau, by plainclothes officers from Linghai City Police Department First Production Brigade. In the afternoon on the following day, police ransacked his house and confiscated a computer, a printer, and Falun Dafa books. He is being held in Linghai City Detention Center.

17. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ma Chunrong Arrested
Early on the morning of July 1, 2009, about six or seven police officers forced their way into Ms. Ma's home in the Xinglongtai District, Panjing City, took her into custody, and ransacked her house. They confiscated a portrait of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Dafa books, a computer, and a cell phone. She is being held in Panjing City Detention Center and police will not permit her family members to visit.
18. [Jiaohe City, Jilin Province] Numerous Practitioners Arrested and Being Brainwashed
On the morning of July 29, 2009, Ms. Pan Xuejing, Mr. Guan Haibo, Mr. Li Chunsheng, and Ms. Chen Yi were arrested by a group led by Li Yi, Minister of the Pinejiang Town, Jiaohe City, Zhang Fuyi, Chief of Judicial Law Office and officers from the local police station. They were taken to the brainwashing center, where their family members were not permitted to visit.
19. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Bi Lijuan Arrested
Ms. Bi Lijuan, about 45 years old, is an English teacher from First High School in Anshan City. In the evening on July 25, 2009, while she was shopping in Hunan City, she accidentally left her handbag filled with factual materials about Falun Gong at the merchant's store. When she went back to retrieve it, the store owner didn't want to return it to her and instead called the police. She was then arrested.
20. [Beijing] Ms. He Zhiying and Ms. Li Yongchuan Taken into Custody for One Month
On the evening of June 26, 2009, Ms. He Zhiying was arrested at her home by officers from the Changping Sub-division Law Enforcement crew and the Tiantongyuan local police station. Police also took into custody Ms. Li Yongchuan, who was visiting Ms. He at the time. Police confiscated a printer, a computer, and other personal belongings. The two women are being held in the Changping District Shuitun Detention Center.

21. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Teng Chunxiang Arrested
Ms.TengChunxiang is a resident of Wangjia Village, Jincheng Town, Laizhou City. On July 31, 2009, she was arrested by officers from the Jincheng Police Station while she was handing out truth clarification materials in Xinchengji Market. On the same day, seven or eight officers broke into her home and ransacked it. On August 1, 2009, she was taken away and imprisoned in the Laizhou City Police Department.
