(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 24 cities or counties in 12 provinces. In this report, 28 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 19 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zeng Hongwen Searched for and Her Husband and Son Persecuted
Currently, police from Mianyang, Santai, and Chengdu cities are jointly searching for Ms. Zeng Hongwen. Since she has not been found, the police turned to persecuting her husband and son.
2. [Yanji City, Jilin Province] Mr. Shen Quanhui Sentenced to Eight Years in Prison
In August 2008, Mr. Shen Quanhui was arrested. After he was detained for eight months, the Helong Court convened his trial. 57 days later, his sentence was handed down, giving him eight years in prison.
3. [Dongfeng County, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhao Chunmei Sentenced to 18 Months of Forced Labor
Ms. Zhao Chunmei, about 40 years old, is a nurse at the Dongfeng Hospital. On June 18, 2009, she went to the national security team of the county police department to ask for the release of detained Falun Dafa practitioners. On that day, she was arrested by the national security police and sent to the Dongfeng Detention Center. Later on, she was transferred to the Liaoyuan Detention Center. The following day, she was sentenced to 18 months in a forced labor camp. And then, she was sent to the Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp.

On the afternoon of July 24, 2009, Ms. Yu Shuang was taken away from a children's wear shop that she manages by police from the Hangtou Police Station. Her home was also ransacked. The keys to her shop were taken away. On that night, the police went back to ransack her shop.

7. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Persecuted
Ms. Li, about 40 years old, lives in Lianpo Village, Gaoliu Town, Qingzhou County, Weifang City. On May 1, 2009, she was reported and arrested because she distributed flyers about Falun Gong. Now she is being detained in the Qingzhou Detention Center. Her husband, Liang Chunfu, went to work in another city. There is no one to take care of their nine-year-old son, Liang Longwu.
8. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Chen Guiping Arrested
On July 20, 2009, Ms. Chen Guiping from Wudaojiang, Erdaojiang District, Tonghua City, was arrested by the Wudaojiang Police Station and the Erdaojiang National Security Team. That night, she was taken to the Tonghua National Security Team.
9. [Siping City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Yuling Detained
On the morning of July 19, 2009, Ms. Wang Yuling was arrested by police from the national security of Tiexi District Police Department and the Beigou Street Police Station. The police went to her home on Beigou Street to search and took away Dafa books and a large amount of cash. Ms. Wang is being detained in the Siping Detention Center.
10. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Practitioners Including Song Kaijun Persecuted
More than 30 practitioners from Chifeng City are still being detained in forced labor camps. Many practitioners--including Mr. Song Kaijun, Mr. Zhao Hui, Mr. Zhou Jinpeng, Mr. Huang Yade, Mr. Ma Qinghai, and Ms. Bai Yaping--are being detained in the Chifeng Fourth Prison. Mr. Zhang Lianjun, a student of Tsinghua University, cannot take care of himself as a result of persecution.
On the night of June 11, 2009, the Lindong Town Police Department and the Chifeng City arrested Ms. Wu Jingli and ransacked her home. The tuition and boarding money she had left for her child was also taken away by police. Now she is being detained in the Dongcheng Detention Center in Hongshan District.

11. [Shanggao County, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Wu Jinying Sentenced
Ms. Wu Jinying was arrested while she used monetary bills with {[truth clarification}} messages about Falun Gong written on them to go shopping in a farmers market. She has been sentenced to 2 years in prison. Now she is being detained in Nanchang Women's Prison.
12. [Chongqing City] Mr. Chen Fu Sent to Yongchuan Prison
Mr. Chen Fu graduated from Xinan Normal University in Chongqing City. He was detained in Xishanping Forced Labor Camp in Chongqing City. Later he was transferred to Yongchuan Prison in Chongqing. It was said that Mr. Chen Fu was transferred to the second division of the 17th Division in Yongchuan Prison. His family has lost contact with him.
13. [Liaoning Province] A Homeless Practitioner Arrested and Sent to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp
A practitioner who was homeless went to another practitioner's home to help the practitioner send righteous thoughts on September 11, 2007. She was arrested by a group of officers from the national security team of Tieling Police Department and detained in the Tieling Detention Center. Between October 23, 2007, and March 10, 2008, she was detained in the third division of Masanjia Women's Forced Labor Camp. She was forced to work and not allowed to sleep. In July 2008, she was transferred to the first division.
On October 7, 2008, because she did not give her signature, she was beaten and electrically shocked by seven or eight people. And she was hung up for two days and two nights. After she was put down, her right arm had no feeling, and she could not take care of herself. On December 30, 2008, guard Zhang Chunguang broke her right arm. The injury was still not recovered when she was released on March 10, 2009.

On the afternoon of July 26, 2009, Ms. Tong Shuxian and Ms. Lan Suchun were reported while they were explaining facts about Falun Gong. Now they are being detained in the Hushitai Police Station.
18. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Sui Jingfeng Arrested
On July 25, 2009, Mr. Sui Jingfeng from the Xinglongtai District was reported to police and arrested by the Zhenxing Police Station in the Xinglongtai District. He is being detained in the Panjin Detention Center.
19. [Wuwei City, Gansu Province] An Elderly Practitioner Beaten and Persecuted
On the early morning of July 3, 2009, an elderly practitioner with the surname Zhang was arrested by local police. His (or her) home was ransacked.
The practitioner had suffered an incurable disease. Because he (or she) practiced Falun Dafa, the disease was gone. In 2000, the person was sent to a forced labor camp for going to Beijing to appeal. Later on, the practitioner was sentenced to prison twice. As a result of the inhuman torture, the practitioner's body and mind were harmed. His (or her) vision and hearing got worse.
20. [Dongying, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Peihua Sent to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Sun Peihua was arrested by the national security team of the Dongying Area. She was sent to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp for a one-year term.
21. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Junhua Sent to the Shisanli Detention Center
At 8 a.m. on June 29, 2009, Ms. Wang Junhua from Huaian County, Zhangjiakou City, in her 40s went to Jiubao Village, Wanquan County, to explain the facts about Falun Gong. She was beaten by Xue Tingbao, Director of Jiubao Village. Afterward, she was taken away by Rong Bin, Associate Chief of the Wanquan National Security Team, and other policemen. The police grabbed her house key and ransacked her home, accompanied by the Huian police. The following day, she was sent to the Shisanli Detention Center in Zhangjiakou City.

22. [Beijing] Mr. Zhang Lei and His Wife, Ms. Wang Qiuying, Arrested
At 6 p.m. on July 21, 2009, Mr. Zhang Lei, 41 years old, and his wife, Ms. Wang Qiuying, 40 years old, were arrested by the Fengtai Police Station while the two were distributing flyers about Falun Gong. At 11 p.m., the national security police went to ransack their home and took away a computer, a printer, CDs, etc.
23. [Laiyang City, Shandong Province] On the Afternoon of July 23, 2009, Ms. Gai Chunxiang Arrested and Her Home Ransacked
24. [Gaozhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Zhang Xiangming Persecuted
On June 24, 2009, Mr. Zhang Xiangming was arrested while he was explaining the facts about Falun Gong and distributing flyers in Xiangshan Town. On July 7, 2009, police from the 610 Office, national security team, and police department of Gaozhou City ransacked his home and took Dafa books and other materials about Falun Dafa, as well as about 100 yuan in cash bills that had phrases about Falun Gong written on them. Mr. Zhang is being detained in the Maoming City Brainwashing Center.
25. [Xinyi City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Lu Anqu Sentenced
Mr. Lu Anwu is a teacher at the Shuikou Town Elementary School in Xinyi City. On the morning of April 14, 2008, when he finished his class and was ready to go home, he was arrested by police from the 610 Office, police department, and national security team of Xinyi City. On October 7, 2008, the Xinyi Court sentenced him to seven years in prison.
Afterwards, Mr. Lu continued to appeal, but the court upheld the original sentence. On July 20, 2009, Mr. Lu was sent to the Yangjiang City Prison in Guangdong Province.
26. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Recent Persecution Information about Hefei Practitioners
On July 17, 2009, two female practitioners in their 50s went out to distribute flyers about Falun Gong. They went missing and have not returned home.
A male practitioner in his 80s runs a difficult disease clinic in Wushilimiao, Feixi, Hefei. On July 18, 2009, his clinic and home were ransacked by police. His computer and property worth about 10,000 yuan were taken away.
Recently, a young man who came to work in Hefei went missing.
27. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Du Lianyou , Mr. Wang Fan, Mr. Bai Jingzhi, and Ms. Lu Caihua Arrested
Mr. Du Lianyou is 79 years old. At 6 a.m. on July 17, 2009, police from the Fushun National Security Team knocked on the door to his home, saying they needed to check his residency certificate. They left after confirming it was Mr. Du' s home. At about 7 a.m., seven plainclothes policemen went to Mr. Du's home and took him and his wife, Ms. Che Lianzhi, 73 years old, away. They also took flyers about Falun Gong, the elderly couple's bank book, cash, a telephone book, and other personal property. The couple was taken to Nangou Detention Center. On July 24, 2009, the guards sent Ms. Che Guizhi home and took a picture of her. Now Mr. Du is going on a hunger strike to protest. Ms. Che Lianzhi was found to have Spinocerebellar Atrophy and Diabetes.
On the morning of July 17, 2009, the police went to the homes of Mr. Wang Fan and Mr. Bai Jingzhi with the excuse of checking their water bills and took them away. They also took away their computers and printers. Ms. Lu Caihua went to visit Mr. Wang Fan. She was also followed and arrested.
28. [Tianjin City] Ms. He Yana Detained in a Drug Rehabilitation Center
On March 9, 2009, Ms. He Yana from the Dagang District in Tianjin City went to the Hexi District to visit friends and explain the facts about Falun Gong. She was reported to police and arrested by the Machang Police Station of Hexi Police Department. Later on, she was sent to the Tianjin Forced Drug Rehabilitation Center, where she is still being detained.
29. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Mr. Bai Hongyuan Tortured by Electric Shock at the Baimiao Forced Labor Camp
Mr. Bai Hongyuan was sent to the second division of the Baimiao Forced Labor Camp in Zhengzhou City. He went on a hunger strike for several days. Later on, several guards shocked him with electric batons.
30. [Jiutai City, Jilin Province] Mr. Liu Baigui and Two Other Practitioners Arrested
At 7 or 8 p.m. on July 21, 2009, five or six officers from the Jiutai Police Department went to the home of Mr. Liu Baigui in Daoban, Xinglong Town, Jiutai City. Mr. Liu and two other practitioners were taken away. Now Mr. Liu is in the Jiutai Detention Center. The other practitioners are being detained in the Jiutai Lock-ups.

32. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zong Lirong Arrested
At 2 p.m. on July 21, 2009, three officers from the politics security section of the Paoya Police Station in Dalian City rushed into the company where Ms. Zong Lirong was working and took her away from her work. They also took her computer from the office, her cell phone, and other personal property.
That night, Ms. Zong was taken to the Dalian Detention Center. Because of her physical condition, the detention center officials refused to accept her. Later on, the police went to her home to harass her. Now she has become homeless and destitute in order to avoid being arrested at home.
