(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 25 cities or counties in 12 provinces. In this report, 18 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 17 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] A 10-Year-Old Junior Practitioner Missing in Beijing Prior to Last Year's Olympic Games

Before the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Ms. Jiang Yajia and her nearly 10-year old son from Xianning City were arrested in Beijing and then disappeared. This news was covered up for almost a year and was exposed only recently. Ms. Jiang's husband is also a Dafa practitioner. He was illegally sentenced to a prison term at that time.

Mr. Chen Qian, 39 years old, went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in 1999. He was illegally sent to a forced labor camp twice.

Around 1 a.m. on July 7, 2009, Ms. Yuan Yuan from Dalian Economic Development Zone was arrested in Gelin Town by the Wucai Mall Police Station.

4. [Pingxiang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Chang Meihui Arrested

July 5, 2009, Mr. Chang Meihui from Pingxiang City was arrested. He is now being detained and persecuted in the Pingxiang City Detention Center.

5. [Boxing County, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Aihua Arrested

On the morning of June 15, 2009, Mr. Li Aihua from Boxing County distributed "truth-clarification: materials on his way to the fair. Someone reported him to the police in Luyi Town and he was later arrested. The head of the county's National Security Team, Liu Jianmin, immediately ransacked Mr. Li's home, taking his truth-clarification materials and Falun Dafa books with him. Liu then sent Mr. Li to the Boxing County Detention Center, where he has been "illegally detained."

6. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Shang Xiaodong Detained in Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp Beyond the Legal Limit

Mr. Shang Xiaodong has been illegally detained in the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp beyond the one-year time limit because he refused to be "reformed". He was supposed to be released on July 13, 2009 and his family would have taken him back home. However, the labor camp told his family they extended Shang's term for five more days. They also threatened to send him to a "brainwashing session" for an even longer time. They said that the "brainwashing session" would last until October 2009.

7. [Renshou County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Yunxia Arrested

Around 2 p.m. on July 6, 2009, the Renshou County Police Bureau, along with the North City Police Station in the Renshou County seat, raided and ransacked Ms. Chen Yunxia's home and arrested her. They took away Dafa books and some truth-clarification materials. Ms. Chen, 65, is currently detained in the North City Police Station.

8. [Qinghai Province] Mr. Liu Qilong Illegally Sentenced to Forced Labor

On April 22, 2009, Mr. Liu Qilong, a teacher from the Industrial Vocational School of Qinghai Province, was arrested by the National Security Team of the Mid City Branch of the Xining City Police Bureau. Recently, it was learned that the West City Branch of the Xining City Police Bureau illegally sentenced Mr. Liu to two years of forced labor.

9. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zheng Ming'e Arrested

On July 2, 2009, Ms. Zheng Ming'e from the Hanting District Cinema was reported while she was clarifying the facts about Falun Gong and was arrested later. She is currently being kept in the Weifang Detention Center.

10. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Xiuli Arrested

Around 7 a.m. on July 6, 2009, Ms. Wang Xiuli was arrested by several officers from Wanli Police Station who were waiting at the gate for her when she sent her child to school. The police ransacked her home soon afterwards. Her whereabouts are unknown.

12. [Jilin Province] Mr. Meng Qingfeng Arrested

Mr. Meng Qingfeng lives at No. 6, Hejiao Railroad. Around 5 a.m. on June 10, 2009, his father was interrogated by two plainclothes officers when he came out of his home. The officers took his father to a police vehicle parked on the roadside and grabbed his house key. They then illegally entered his house with the key and arrested his mother, his wife, and Mr. Meng, who was sleeping at that time. Their personal computer and Falun Dafa books were also taken away. The computer was sent to Jilin City for examination.

His father and his wife were released on the same day, but his mother was detained for several days. After around 15 days of detention, Mr. Meng was officially arrested and sent to a detention center.

13. [Shanghai] 70-Year-Old Ms. Quan Ying Missing in Mid-June

Ms. Quan Ying, who lives in Unit 404, Building No. 10, No. 937 Quxi Road, Luwan District, Shanghai, went missing in mid-June 2009.

14. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Huang Liping Has Been Missing for Nine Years following Her Arrest

Forty-year-old Ms. Huang Liping, who lived on Wumiao Street, Guanghan City, was arrested by officers from Guanghan City's North Town Police Station on January 16, 2000. She has not returned home since.

15. [Baokang City, Hubei Province] Facts about the Persecution of Ms. Zhang Shujie

Ms. Zhang Shujie was arrested and taken to the Baokang Detention Center on November 5, 2005. Guard Bai Yuhua encouraged the prisoners there to beat her. She was also stripped naked and cold water poured from her head to her feet. She launched a hunger strike to protest the persecution, but on the 5th day of her hunger strike, she was force fed with a tube inserted into her stomach.

One month later, Ms. Zhang and other two practitioners were taken to the Tumuji Forced Labor Camp. She was kept in solitary confinement, where two guards, one with a last name Ren and the other Li Aihua, took turns persecuting her. First they forced her to watch a video defaming Falun Dafa. Then they tried to make her to write the three statements. At one time, she was forced to stand still for several days. From the time she entered the labor camp on December 5, 2005, until the time she left on January 25, 2007, she was severely tortured both physically and mentally. She was forced to do hard labor most of the time.

16. [Anyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Li Hehua Arrested

On the night of June 28, 2009, Ms. Li Hehua, 53, from Anyang City was reported and afterwards arrested when she was distributing truth-clarification materials in Caiyuan Town, Tangyin County. She is being "illegally detained" in the Tangyin County Detention Center. Personnel from the 610 Office of Anyang City's North District ransacked her home.

17. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Zhao Huizhen Sentenced to Forced Labor

On June 30, 2009, Ms. Zhao Huizhen, 62, and another senior practitioner were reported to police when they were explaining the facts about Falun Gong in north Qilitang Town. Later, they were arrested by police from the National Security Team of the Qilitang Police Station. She has been sent to the Hefei Woman's Forced Labor Camp for a one-year term.

18. [Rongcheng City, Shandong Province] Additional Information Regarding the Arrest of Ms. Yuan Xiuping

On July 2, 2009, Ms. Yuan Xiuping from Li Village, Longxu Island, Rongcheng City, was arrested by Rongcheng City's 610 Office, Chengshan Township Police Station, and the Yi Village Security Office. Some personal items belonging to her were confiscated. She is now in Rongcheng City Detention Center.

19. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhang Yuhua Arrested Again and Her Whereabouts Unknown

Dr.. Zhang Yuhua, PhD, 40, graduated from the Russian Language Department at the University of Heilongjiang. She was head of the Department of Russian Language and an associate professor before she was persecuted. She has been arrested twice and was illegally detained. After her second arrest, she was sentenced to two years in prison and dismissed from her official post. After she was released from prison, she became homeless. She was arrested again in May this year. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

20. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Both Ms. Shi Ningyao and Ms. Wu Yongmei Arrested

Around 4:30 p.m. on July 4, 2009, Ms. Shi Ningyao was arrested by about six plainclothes officers from the Wucaicheng Police Station, Dalian Economic Development Zone, when she was at work. During the evening of the same day, Ms. Wu Yongmei, 42, was arrested at her home by Wucaicheng Police Station officers.

21. [Luquan County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Yun and Ms. Yang Lunxia Sentenced to Forced Labor Term

On June 11, 2009, officers from the Police Station in Luquan County went to Ms. Zhang Yun's place of work in Luquan Prison and arrested her. Later, they ransacked her rental home and took some materials. The police videotaped their ransacking of her home.

22. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Xu Xinhui and Ms. Zhao Yuqing Detained in the Dashan Detention Center

On the evening of June 14, 2009, Mr. Xu Xinhui from Qingdao City and Ms. Zhao Yuqing from Gansu Province, who came to Qingdao for employment, were arrested by officers from the Beizhong Police Station in the North District of Qingdao City. The two had been distributing truth-clarification materials. They are now in the Dashan Detention Center.

23. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Facts about the Persecution of Mr. Luo Xiufeng in Dashaping Prison, Lanzhou City

Mr. Luo Xiufeng, 37, came from the Xigu District, Lanzhou City. In May 2005, he was arrested by a squad with the Lanzhou City Public Security Bureau that specialized in persecuting Falun Gong. He was sentenced to six years in prison by the Xigu District Court. Mr. Luo is still in Dashaping Prison, Lanzhou City.

24. [Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Liang Yanqiong Arrested and Persecuted in a Detention Center

When Ms. Liang Yanqiong, Ms. Liang Huiqiong, and their mother from Huaiji County, Zhaoqing City, went to the countryside to clarify the facts about Falun Gong and to distribute informational materials, they were reported to the police. They were later arrested and taken to the police station. Liang Huiqiong and her mother have been released, but Liang Yanqiong is still in the detention center.

25. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Atrocities Committed by Wangcun Forced Labor Camp in Persecuting Falun Dafa Practitioners

Ms. Liu Hong from Laixi County, Qingdao City, was sentenced to forced labor on August 30, 2008. She was severely persecuted in the third brigade of Wangcun Forced Labor Camp. Because she refused to put on the prison clothes and refused to be "reformed," she was kept in a narrow, obsolete washroom. Guards Li Aiwen, Cui Hongwen, and Song Hong stretched her hands and cuffed them to the window with her toes just touching the ground. Because of her body weight, the cuffs became tighter and tighter, cutting into her flesh. Before long, both of her hands were swollen and discolored, and the pain was unbearable. During that time the police incited prisoners to endlessly assault Ms. Liu both physically and mentally and swear at Falun Dafa. She endured the persecution almost to her limit, and finally agreed to write the three statements. However, guard Li Aiwen only loosened one of her hands so that she could write and left the other hand still cuffed to the window. After Ms. Liu finished writing, both of her hands were cuffed to the window again.

26. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Information on the Persecution of the Couple Mrs. Lu Huimin and Mr. Feng Xiaoyu

On January 7, 2009, Mrs. Lu Huimin and her husband, Mr. Feng Xiaoyu, went to visit their parents in Yishui. When they were in a relative's home, they were arrested along with their relative, since their relative was a Falun Dafa practitioner, too, and was being monitored by the police. On February 11, Ms. Lu was sent to the Jinan Woman's Forced Labor Camp for a one-year term, and Mr. Feng was sent to the Zhangqiu 2nd Men's Forced Labor Camp for one year. This couple was once homeless because they did not want to give up practicing Falun Dafa and ended up having to leave their home for many years to avoid persecution. They used to eat the wild herbal plants in the mountains. Their two children, one 10 years old and the other 8, were entrusted to their elderly parents even though heir mother has a handicap. Now they have been sentenced to forced labor terms, too. In the labor camp, they have been tortured both physically and mentally, including bodily assault, humiliation, solitary confinement, deprivation of sleep, and restriction in using the toilet.

27. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Mr. Hong Chang Arrested on June 6, 2009

Mr. Hong Chang was arrested by the Hangzhou City Qingbo Police Station on June 6, 2009. He was forcefully taken back to his home with his hands cuffed behind his back. The police ransacked his home without a warrant. Worse yet, on the way home, police falsely told a passersby that Mr. Hong was a thief.

28. [Renshou County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Yuxia Arrested at Her Home

This afternoon, police from Renshou County raided Ms. Chen Yuxia's home and arrested her and her family members. Her home has been ransacked.

Around 10 a.m on June 18, 2009, Mr. Lei Jingxiong and his uncle were arrested by the National Security Agents in Guangzhou's Baiyun Airport when they were catching a domestic flight to Hangzhou.

31. [Pingshan County, Hebei Province] The Facts about the Persecution of Mr. Fu Erdong

Mr. Fu Erdong from Beibailou Village, Pingshan Town, Pingshan County, went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong on January 12, 2000, of the lunar calendar. He and several fellow practitioners went to Tiananmen Square to conduct a group exercise, but only a few minutes after, the police rushed towards them and beat them. The police then pushed them into a police vehicle and took them to the Tiananmen Police Station. On the way, the police barbarically beat them. That afternoon, Fu and several female practitioners were handcuffed and pushed into a small compartment in a car and taken to the Hebei Province government office in Beijing. When they stepped out of the car at the destination, they could barely stand because they had been so tightly squeezed into the small compartment in the car. They were handcuffed and hung overnight in the office. The next day, they were sent back to the Pingshan County Public Security Bureau. They have been persecuted ever since by the Political Security Section and the Pingshan Town Police Station.

The police interrogated them with violence and beat and kicked them. They also used a wooden board to hit their backs, as well as a wooden stick 1 cm thick x 5 cm wide to beat their palms. They used a broom to hit their faces until the broom broke. They forced Mr. Fu to kneel down on the ground and then placed a wooden board on top of his feet. Then a man stood on the board and rocked back and forth. That afternoon, they dragged Mr. Fu to a room north of the Political Security Section to continue to torture him. Policeman Du Xinzhong used a wooden stick to hit his left arm. Later on, they took Mr. Fu to a detention center, where he was illegally detained for one month. During his detention, officers from Pingshan Town Police Station ransacked his home and imposed a 2300-yuan fine on him.

32. [Baoding Prefection, Hebei Province] The Persecution of Ms. Fang Xifeng

Ms. Fang Xifeng from Fuping County in the Baoding Area went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa in November, 2000. She was stopped by police in the underpass beneath Tiananmen Square and ordered to swear at Teacher and Falun Dafa. Anyone that refused was identified as practicing Falun Gong. The three were shoved into a police car and taken to the Tiananmen Police Branch. During nearly one month of detention, Ms. Fang was put on display and humiliated in public with handcuffs on.
