(Clearwisdom.net) In July 2009, Youhui, a 4th grade girl, packed her
own luggage, took a plane for 18 hours with a group of adults, and flew from
Taiwan to Washington DC, the capital of the United States. She was attending an
activity commemorating the 10th anniversary of Falun Gong practitioners
peacefully resisting the persecution.
Youhui had asked her parents to let her make this trip. At the beginning, her
father was a little worried about her taking such a long trip, because she is
only 10 years old. But Youhui showed that she is mature and packed her own
things, finished all her homework, and convinced her father not to worry about
her.

A Different Kind of Trip
Many children were looking forward to the summer vacation, and so did Youhui.
But what Youhui wanted was different from most other children.
On July 10, Youhui took out her first flute, which was bought with the money her
parents gave her for the Chinese New Year. She joined the Taiwan Divine Land
Marching Band, flew to Hong Kong, and participated in a three-hour parade
supporting 57,000,000 people quitting the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) and its
associated organizations. On the 14th, she arrived in New York City and united
with her mother, who had arrived earlier. They went to D.C. together. As a
10-year-old, Youhui is an exception in the band. She knows how to take care of
herself and her maturity often surprises other adult members of the band.
Youhui's mother, Ms. Huang, is also a Falun Dafa practitioner. She said it was
not the first time for Youhui to come to D.C. for these activities. She was here
in 2005, when she was only a kindergartener. During one activity she was so
tired that she fell asleep on her father's shoulder. Now Youhui is almost as
tall as her mother. During her cultivation she became independent and caring.
Her mother never worries about her character and studies, and this is the reason
that her parents allowed her to fly to Hong Kong and the U.S. without being
accompanied by other family members.

According to Ms. Huang, Youhui was very attached to her mother when she was
young. She would cry if her mother was not around. When she grew older, she
learned that in Mainland China many people are under the CCP's persecution. Many
children lost their normal living environment simply because their parents
practiced Falun Dafa.
A big wish in Youhui's heart was to play the flute in the Divine Land Marching
Band. She wanted to perform "Falun Dafa Is Good" and tell people how
wonderful Falun Dafa is. She wanted the persecution to end soon and for those
children who are under persecution to have their families back. Youhui knew the
trips cost a lot of money and her parents worked hard. She treasured the
opportunity very much.
Now, Youhui can carry her luggage and go to a new place on her own. She is not a
tourist or going to study abroad. She marches through the streets, playing songs
again and again under the hot sun. She thoroughly enjoys the wonderful
experience. When the band started to play, this young girl who was sensitive to
the heat did not feel hot at all; instead, she felt a cool wind blowing on her
face.
Growing Up with Truth-Compassion-Forbearance
Youhui started to practice Falun Dafa with her parents and grandma as a little
child. She knows Falun Dafa requires disciples to be good and caring people. She
is a great help to her parents and teachers. In school, she was often appointed
by her teachers as a child teacher. She helps teachers in collecting homework,
and sometimes she helps naughty students to obey the teachers. She helps her
parents with the housework. Youhui looks mature compared to children of the same
age. She is an only child and receives lots of love from her parents and
grandparents. She is a top student in school in terms of both her character and
studies, and all the teachers praise her. It is because she practices Falun Dafa
and knows how to look inward.
Youhui's mother is a teacher herself. She said that Youhui was born a few month
prior to the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong. During the ten years of resisting
the persecution, she watched Youhui grow up with the light of
Truth-Compassion-Forbearance. She has seen Dafa being spread all over the world.
She has witnessed the compassion of Dafa. Ms. Huang thanks Dafa for giving her
such a happy and healthy child. She hopes to help more people find out about the
wonder of Falun Dafa, so that more families and children will come to know the
truth of life, which is simple and happy.
