(Clearwisdom.net) I am a 76-year-old woman from Wuxue City, Hubei Province. I will never forget to thank Falun Dafa and Teacher Li, who gave me a second life after a life-threatening accident.
On the afternoon of November 2, 2004, as I came out of one of the downstairs rooms and was just about to leave the front door of our new two-story house, which was still under construction, a large iron pole, approximately 5 inches in diameter and 7 to 8 meters long, suddenly fell and hit me. I was knocked unconscious and was bleeding a lot. My son immediately took me to the hospital to try to save my life. The hospital X-ray showed that the five vertebra on my lower spinal column were fractured and three other bones were broken. Blood was coming out of my mouth, nose and head. The doctor said that there was only a 1 in a 1000 chance of survival, and that if I did survive I would probably be paralyzed for the rest of my life. I lay on the bed in a vegetative state, having to be hand-fed and looked after constantly. How could I live the rest of my life like this!
While in hospital and suffering tremendous agony, my daughter-in-law, a Falun Dafa practitioner, visited me and brought with her the audiotapes of Teacher Li Hongzhi's lectures. She told me that many people had miraculously recovered from their illnesses by listening to the Fa, and reading the book Zhuan Falun. My daughter-in-law visited me every day and took care of my every need. We listened to Teacher's lectures one after another, for about one week.
One day, when my daughter came to the hospital, she saw the doctor who took my X-ray. The doctor asked, "Why do you come here again?" My daughter said, "Both my sister-in-law and I are taking care of our Mom." The doctor was shocked, "Oh! How it is possible your Mom is still with us! It's a miracle!"
As I was able to listen to the Fa, I managed to come out of the life-threatening situation so fast, and defy the doctors' medical judgment of only living for a short time. I left the hospital after staying there for only 13 days.
At home, I was still paralyzed and remained bedridden. Luckily, I had Teacher's lecture tapes, and by listening to the Fa, I became more comfortable with myself and understood a lot of principles of how to be a good person. Also, I did not take any medicine or injections.
I clearly remember that four and a half months later, my daughter-in-law noticed that I looked much better and had a fairer complexion. She asked me to get out of bed and try to walk. A miracle happened. All of a sudden, I was able to stand up! I touched my waist and found that I was standing up straight; my spine had miraculously recovered!
My hunchback, which had tormented me for many years, had also straightened, and I was able to walk. When my husband, son and daughter-in-law saw this, they were moved to tears. All of us could not help but thank our Teacher for his great and benevolent compassion. Soon, my daughters, their husbands, other relatives and friends, all came to see the miracle that had occurred.
I have never received any school education, and therefore I could not read or write. After experiencing this miracle I decided to learn to read Zhuan Falun by myself. At first I did not recognize any of the words, but after asking my family members to teach me the words one by one, gradually, I learned more and more. I can now basically read through Zhuan Falun from cover to cover.
Within less than half a year, all my injuries and illnesses have disappeared and I am able to work on our land, cook meals and walk wherever I please.
If the Dafa were not a real Buddha Fa, such a miracle would not be possible!
