(Clearwisdom.net) On May 9, Houston Falun Dafa practitioners held a series activities to celebrate the 17th anniversary of the public introduction of Falun Dafa and the 10th anniversary of World Falun Dafa Day.
Starting at 9 a.m., the practitioners held a group practice at Ballaire Blvd. in Chinatown. It was a very sunny day. With the music of the Falun Dafa exercises music resounding in Chinatown, the practitioners' elegant exercise movements formed a spectacular scene.

From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., the practitioners held a celebration near the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office Culture Center. Prior to the celebration, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Congressmen John Culberson and Ted Poe, Houston Mayor William White, Houston councilwoman Jolanda Jones and City Controller Annise Parker issued proclamations to recognize Falun Dafa.

Councilman Peter Brown's assistant presents Falun Gong Association with Martin Luther King Parade winner trophies: Most Beautiful Float and International Winner
Earlier this year, Houston Falun Gong practitioners' procession won the 2009 Martin Luther King Parade's Most Beautiful Float award and International Winner award. An assistant of Councilman Peter Brown presented trophies for these two awards to the Houston Falun Dafa Association at this celebration. Mr. Stamps, the parade organizer, also attended the celebration.

From performances by the Texas Divine Land Marching Band, Falun Gong exercise demonstration, to vocal and instrumental solos, the celebration had a very diverse program. Several practitioners also shared their cultivation stories.
