(Clearwisdom.net) In the past I thought that the time I spent studying the Fa was considerable. I would read, copy and also memorize the Fa. I also had new understandings each time after reading the Fa. I felt that I was doing a good job of studying. I also thought that I knew the importance of studying the Fa. But after I read Master's article on November 18, 2006 "To the Australia Fa Conference," I changed my attitude towards Fa study. I tried to do what Master said, "Don't just go through the motions when you study the Fa. You should study with a concentrated mind, and you must really be studying." It is only then that I only learned how to study the Fa.

We should really concentrate when studying the Fa. In the past when I was studying the Fa, sometimes my thoughts would wander and then I would just pull myself back and continue reading. Now if I find that I have become distracted, I start all over again until my thoughts are fully concentrated on the Fa. I concentrate wholeheartedly and make sure I am single minded on Master's Fa. When I was able to do this and study the Fa with all my heart, I realized that this was truly studying the Fa. I could then better understand the deeper meaning behind every word and sentence and understand that there is a more profound meaning to Master's words. Furthermore, it is not only when I am holding the book that I am studying the Fa; when I close the book, my mind is still in the state of studying the Fa. My whole heart and mind will still be immersed in the boundless Fa. I feel deep gratitude towards the painstaking efforts of our great and compassionate Master to teach us the Fa.

Master said,

"That's why I say that when it comes to cultivation, you must truly grasp what cultivation is, be truly and rationally responsible to your own cultivation, truly handle everything you encounter with righteous thoughts, and have strong righteous thoughts." (Teaching the Fa in Canada, 2006)

The thoughts of a Buddha can create a universe. How about our thoughts? When we think carefully, how strong are our righteous thoughts? How many human attachments do we still have? In the past my judgment on a matter or my thinking only simply focused on the right or wrong aspects of superficial things. Through studying the Fa, I realized that it is not just a matter of right or wrong on the surface, it concerns the issue of whether many lives can be saved. One day my family members were watching television. The television programs nowadays are all very vulgar, but I watched one with them with interest. After watching the program, I suddenly noticed that there was a subtle change in my body. The change could not be seen with my eyes, but I felt that one layer of my body had become weaker. It was as though it had withered.

As practitioners, our each and every thought is very important. When we really study the Fa wholeheartedly, then we can really use righteous thoughts to view matters from the standpoint of the Fa. Thus, we can rectify each and every thought of ours and assimilate to Dafa. Only then can we do the three things required by Master well and not have any regrets.
