(Clearwisdom.net) Today's report relates persecution incidents that took place in 18 cities or counties in 12 provinces. Sixteen Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to brutal mistreatment during detention, and at least 16 practitioners were arrested.

1. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Yuexiang and Her Family Persecuted
Personnel from the Jitai Town Police Station in Shouguang City went to Ms. Zhang Yuexiang's home to arrest her at 8:00 a.m. on February 25, 2009. Ms. Zhang was not at home, but the police arrested her non-practitioner husband and held him for two hours. They went to her home again the next morning, but Ms. Zhang was again not at home.

2. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Jia Guilan Still Held in the City Detention Center
Officer Li Tie and others from the Zhonghua Street Police Station in the Jianhua District of Qiqihar City arrested Ms. Jia Guilan at 6:00 a.m. on September 7, 2008. Later on, Ms. Wang Xiuzhen and Ms. Wang Fengying were arrested. Ms. Jia has been held in the Qiqihar City Detention Center for five months.

3. [Xiamen City, Fujian Province] Ms. Liu Dongmei Arrested
Ms. Liu Dongmei from Liaoning Province works in Xiamen City. She went to pick up a practitioner at the city railway station on January 7, 2009, but personnel from the Xiamen City Railway Police Station arrested her and sentenced her to two years of forced labor. She was later transferred into the Fuzhou City No.1 Women's Forced Labor Camp on February 11, 2009.

Personnel from the Laiyang City Domestic Security Division's 610 Office arrested Mr. Li Lulin and Mr. Chu Dianwen from Nanli Village, Tuanwang Town, Laiyang City, on February 26, 2009. The arrests took place when the two distributed Falun Gong flyers in East Zhanggezhuang Village. Their whereabouts are unknown.

Mr. Li Zhigang, Mr. Shi Yong, and Mr. Wei Liangyue, a lawyer, were arrested and put in the Nangang District Detention Center. Mr. Li was held in the No. 502 Cell; Mr. Shi in the No. 506 Cell; and Mr. Wei in the No. 402 Cell. Ms. Du Yongjing, Ms. Lin Xuejun, and Ms. Li Xu were held in the Harbin City Women's No. 2 Detention Center. Ms. Du was held in the No. 206 Cell; Ms. Lin in the No. 201 Cell; and Ms. Li in the No. 203 Cell.

8. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Repeated Arrests of Ms. Jiang Caifang
Personnel from the Pingdu City Police Department and from the Wanjia Town Police Station arrested Ms. Jiang Caifang from Zhuanxiqiu Village, Wanjia Town, Pingdu City. The police ransacked her home, extorted 15,000 yuan from her family, and then released her at the end of December 2008. Two months later, on March 2, 2009, the police arrested Ms. Jiang again.
9. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Zhang Guilan Arrested
Personnel from the Zhongmu County Police Station arrested Ms. Zhang Guilan, a retired employee from the county's Pipe No. 3 Company, on the morning of February 27, 2009. The police ransacked her home and confiscated Dafa books and truth-clarifying materials.
10. [Jilin Province] Evildoings of Personnel from the Jiaohe City 610 Office and from the City Forest Bureau
Personnel from the Jiaohe City 610 Office, from the Political and Judiciary Committee, from the Police Department, and from the city Forest Bureau have often harassed and persecuted Mr. Qiu Baohe and Ms. Zhao Hongyan since July 20, 1999.
Ms. Zhao once was put in a forced labor camp for two years because she wrote truth-clarifying letter to her relatives and government officials. Her retirement pension has been suspended since May 2008. Mr. Qiu was arrested on March 27, 2008. He was held in the city detention center for half a year and then sentenced to five years in prison. He is now in the Gongzhuling City Prison in Jilin Province.
11. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Chen Ruilian Arrested
Personnel from the Nanshan Street Police Station arrested 65-year-old Ms. Chen Ruilian from the Zhifu District, Yantai City, on February 24, 2009. The arrest happened when she explained the facts about Falun Gong in the Education Department. Ms. Chen is held in the Southern Suburb Detention Center.
12. [Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Shuqing Sentenced
Personnel from the Fengcheng Domestic Security Division arrested Mr. Wang Shuqing from his home the end of March 2008. He has been held in the Fengcheng Detention Center since then. After ten months of detention, officials from the Fengcheng Court and from the Dandong Court sentenced Mr. Wang to three years in prison. He appealed to the Dandong Intermediate Court in February 2009.
13. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Personnel from the Hongshan District Police Department Arrest a Practitioner's Daughter
Personnel from the Hongshan District Police Department in Chifeng City broke into Ms. Yao's home near the district's Chinese Medicine Hospital on February 28, 2009. She was not at home, so they arrested Ms. Yao's married daughter, Ms. Hao Jingjing, who happened to have returned home. Ms. Hao's child is only a few months old. Prior to the arrest, the police arrested Ms. Hao's grandmother. The two are being held in the district detention center.

15. [Yinchuan City, Ningxia Autonomous Region] Mr. Luan Ning on Trial
Xixia District Court officials in Yinchuan City put Mr. Luan Ning on trial on February 24, 2009. The officials only allowed five relatives to attend the trial and refused to let his family hire a lawyer. Police arrested six practitioners from the local community on the day of the trial and released them afterwards.
Mr. Luan's mother could not bear her son's long-term persecution and died on February 27, 2009. Personnel from the city 610 Office did not even allow Mr. Luan to attend his mother's funeral.

16. [Chongqing] Ms. Deng Jinghui Harassed
Officer Huang Zhongquan from the Zhanjiaxi Police Station in Chongqing City and five policemen went to 70-year-old Ms. Deng Jinghui's home at 3:00 p.m. on February 25, 2009. The police broke in and confiscated Dafa books. Huang took pictures and forced all the family members to sign a document. They took Ms. Deng, her husband, her son and daughter-in-law to the police station and interrogated them. The police released the family at 11:00 p.m. that day.

17. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] A Practitioner Arrested
Personnel from the Dafangli Police Station in Harbin City arrested a practitioner surnamed Li the night of March 2, 2009. The police ransacked his/her home and confiscated Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials and cash.
18. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Dou Jinbao Arrested
Personnel from the Jiayue Police Station arrested Ms. Dou Jinbao from Songgezhuangdong Village, Jiayue Town, Zhucheng City, the afternoon of February 28, 2009. The police then ransacked Mr. Zhao Hongfa's home.
Police also harassed a woman practitioner in Xi'anjiazhuang Village, Jiayue Town, the afternoon of February 26, 2009.
19. [Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Chen Qinglan Missing for Three Months
Ms. Chen Qinglan from Qingyuan City went missing three months ago. She was persecuted in 2004 for distributing Falun Gong flyers.
20. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Dehe Arrested
Personnel from the Jinggou Town Police Station arrested Mr. Wang Dehe from Lujiadianzi Village, Jinggou Town, Gaomi City, on February 28, 2009. His wife is in a vegetative state. There is no one to care for her.

Police recently arrested Ms. Wang Chunxiang from Yuanjiang City and put her in the city detention center.

22. [Shandong Province] Funds Extorted from Practitioners' Families
Personnel from the Taiwen Police Station and from the Suncun Police Station arrested 40-year-old Ms. Li Shuqin, 50-year-old Ms. Hou Yanxiang, and 55-year-old Ms. Li Qingxiang on December 8, 2008. The practitioners live in the Sunchun Mine Residential Complex in the New Mine Group. Ms. Li Qingxiang's poor health disqualified her from imprisonment, so the police extorted 2,000 yuan from her family and released her.
Ms. Li Shuqin and Ms. Hou were held in the Xintai City Detention Center. Ms. Li's family tried to visit her and get her some quilts, but police would not let the family deliver them to her. They ordered the family to pay 5,000 yuan to buy a blanket from the detention center. The family paid the fees. The two women have been put in the Shandong Province No. 1 Forced Labor Camp for a one-year-and-three-month term.

Personnel from the Dongfeng Police Station arrested Mr. Zhang Quan the afternoon of March 1, 2009. The arrest happened when he explained the facts about Falun Gong in the No.1 Vehicle Factory's No. 5 Station. Mr. Zhang's wife requested his release the afternoon of March 2, 2009, but police arrested her, too. The couple is held in the Dongfeng Police Station.

24. [Xinxiang City, Henan Province] Mr. Yang Mingzheng Arrested
Mr. Yang Mingzheng drove to a village to distribute Falun Gong flyers early in the morning on February 15, 2009. Personnel from the Danyang Street Police Station in Xinxiang City arrested him and took him to Weibin Police Station. Mr. Yang was transferred to a detention center five days later. Police ransacked his home and harassed the family several times. They coerced the family to tell them whom Mr. Yang had contacted before.
