(Clearwisdom.net) In a world of ice and snow, the banner proclaiming "Falun Dafa Is Good" was striking. The melodious Falung Gong exercise music echoed in the air. During the World Economic Forum January 28 and 29, 2009, the world media focused on Davos, Switzerland. Falun Gong practitioners came again to tell people about the ongoing bloody persecution of Falun Gong in China. They displayed photos exposing the Chinese Communist regime's torture of Falun Gong practitioners.

Many residents in Davos are very familiar with the Falun Gong information stand. Some of them came forward specifically to sign the petition calling for an end to the persecution while others asked how they could provide more help. For the past six years, practitioners have come to Davos every year during the World Economic Forum.
A mother and her son from Davos told practitioners that they sign the petition for Falun Gong every year. The young fellow said, "It is very important that you never give up and should keep up the effort. More and more people will become concerned about this persecution."
Mentioning that practitioners have suffered brutal persecution at the hands of the Chinese Communist regime, the mother said, "I think this persecution is horrible. It shows contempt for humanity. People have disappeared and have been tortured. The regime even harvests organs from living people. This is not what human beings do. I must say that the Chinese Communist regime is lying. People hoped that by holding the Olympics there, the regime would improve. But the changes are all superficial. It was just an act. I think that our government and all governments should exert pressure to end this persecution and bring the primary culprits to justice. This is what I think. My husband and all my family share my sympathies. I think that the persecution is very brutal and it should not have happened. We all know that the Jews were persecuted in the concentration camps in the past. We didn't do anything then. We should make efforts to end this persecution. Even though we are far away from China, we should still do something." Before leaving, they took a few petition forms so that they could help to collect signatures.
Among those signing the petition were children, the elderly, local residents, people attending the Forum, and reporters. After hearing the truth about Falun Gong, people also expressed thanks to Falun Gong practitioners.
An elderly gentleman from Britain was eager to tell a practitioner that his nephew is also a practitioner and that his nephew and other Western practitioners went to Tienanmen Square in China to unfurl Falun Gong banners. He was very pleased to see Falun Gong practitioners in Davos.
One person stopped by to say that Switzerland was just too small and that it had too little influence, so not much would be gained. Practitioners told the person that if everyone stood up and said "no" to the Chinese Communist regime, it would really frighten the regime. "If everyone believes that they are powerless and has no influence, then the Chinese Communist regime will continue to do whatever it wants." Finally that person signed the petition demanding an end to the persecution.
The Mayor of Davos, who gave practitioners permission to hold their activity, also came to the information stand. He said that, because practitioners come here every year, he has learned a bit about Falun Gong. Before leaving, he gratefully accepted a copy of Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party that exposes the evil nature of the Chinese Communist Party.
At the end of January every year, Davos hosts the World Economic Forum. Many reporters and important figures, including many important government officials, attend.
