(Clearwisdom.net) Today's report relates persecution incidents that took place in 14 cities or counties in eight provinces. Twenty-two Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to brutal mistreatment during detention, and at least six practitioners were arrested.

1. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Ling on the Verge of Death
On January 15, 2009, Ms. Zhou Ying and Ms. Zhang Ling went to Xiazhuang Town to visit Dafa practitioner Ms. Xu Jinying. Town police station officials nabbed both women and took them to the Gaomi City Detention Center where they were subjected to brutal torture. Ms. Zhang is now on the verge of death.
Police Chief Lu Qinyi and Domestic Security Division Head Wang Chuanpu are responsible for the women's arrest.

2. [Fangzheng County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Yu Lianhe Tortured in the Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp
Mr. Yu Lianhe is a practitioner from Fangzheng County. He was subjected to numerous tortures ever since his arrest. He was initially held in the Fangzheng County Detention Center where he was frequently beaten. He was eventually transferred to Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp. On December 18, 2008, guards Hao Wei and Sun Minggang in Team Four urged criminal inmate Xu Yanbo to brutally beat Mr. Yu. The practitioner is detained in Team One where the abusers continue to torture him.

3. [Hulin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Ma Lijun Incarcerated in the Hulin City Detention Center
At around 1:00 p.m. on February 4, 2009, Domestic Security Division Head Pei Guangfu and several plainclothes policemen nabbed Mr. Ma Lijun and his non-practitioner brother on the stairs of their apartment building. The police body searched the two brothers and confiscated the 1,700 yuan cash and two cell phones the brother carried. Mr. Ma also had several thousand yuan and a cell phone with him, which the police confiscated. The next day the police released Ma Lijun's brother but then took Mr. Ma himself to the Hulin City Detention Center.

4. [Tianjin] Mr. Li Shaochen and Ms. Zhang Guizhen Sentenced to Prison
In January 2008, Li Shaochen and his wife, Zhang Guizhen, were arrested and were eventually sentenced to prison. At present, Mr. Li is being held in Team Three, Ward Five, Yangliuqing Prison in the Xiqing District, Tianjin. Ms. Zhang is in Team Three, Ward Four in Linzhuangzi Women's Prison in Tianjin.
5. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Taobaozhuang Police Harass Dafa Practitioners
At around 7:15 a.m. on January 6, 2009, practitioner Chu Liwen was watching Master's lecture video when six officers from Taibaozhuang Police Station arrived at his home. Two of them scaled the fence and broke in. They took away a copy of Zhuan Falun, a copy of "Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference," a copy of "Minhui Weekly," and three copies of Fa Teaching Given to the Australian Practitioners.
Mr. Sun Huaisen is a practitioner from Paojiaying Village. In January of this year, more than 20 policemen from the Weifang City Criminal Investigation Division and from the Taibaozhuang Police Station arrived in three police vans to harass him. They scaled the wall and broke the window of his house. The police took away a several Dafa books and also a large-screen TV set, a copier, a DVD player, a VCD player, two cassette players, two MPs players, a satellite receiver, and two boxes of incense. They detained Mr. Sun at the Taobaozhuang Police Station. The night of January 16 they took him to the Weifang City Detention Center, where center officials refused to accept him because of his poor health. The officers had to take him back to the police station. They eventually extorted 3,000 yuan from him before releasing him.
6. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yang Xiurong and Mr. Xue Cunjia Sentenced to Four Years
On July 27, 2008, Ms. Yang Xiurong and Mr. Xue Cunjia, both in their 60s, were arrested. Participating in the arrest were agents from the Huangdao District Police Station in Qingdao City. The practitioners are accused of disseminating truth-clarification materials on the Internet. The practitioners were taken to Huangdao District Detention Center on September 2, 2008. In mid-December, Huangdao District Court sentenced each of them to four years in prison. Both practitioners have filed appeals with the Qingdao City Intermediate Court.
7. [Shanghai] Additional Information on Mr. Gao Jifei in Tilanqiao Prison
Gao Jifei is currently incarcerated in Tilanqiao Prison in Shanghai. He used to attend Tongji University. Mr. Gao was nabbed in Shanghai either at the end of 2005 or at the beginning of 2006 and was held in the Pudong First Detention Center in 2006. Toward the end of 2006 he was sentenced and then transferred to Tilanqiao Prison, where he is now in Ward Seven. The guards there shocked him with electric batons and urged inmates to beat him. They also forced him to write statements giving up his cultivation.
8. [Beijing] Ms. Li Xiuqing Transferred, Her Current Whereabouts Unknown
Li Xiuqing lives in Zhumuchang, Yongshun Town, the Tongzhou District, Beijing. She was taken from home on July 26, 2008, and sentenced to two years of forced labor on July 26, 2008. She was taken to Division Nine at the Beijing Labor Education Dispatching Center. When her husband and son went to visit her there on January 19, 2009, the officials told them she had been transferred elsewhere, but no one told them where she is right now.
9. [Tianjin] Ms. Jiao Linhui, Ms. Zhang Jinping, and Ms. Liu Ning Detained
These three women practitioners are from the Daguang District. They were arrested at around 4:00 p.m. on February 8, 2009, while doing truth-clarification activities.
10. [Changle, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
On January 14, 2009, Mr. Yu Xinshan and Ms. Yu Meixia were arrested. Two days earlier, police also seized Mr. Zhao Guangjie
11. [Tangshan County, Anhui Province] Mr. Wu Gensheng Detained
Mr. Wu Gensheng is from Zhaotun Village, Tangshan County. When he was putting up truth-clarification placards at the gate of the Zhaotun Village Police Station on New Year's Eve, the police arrested him. He was held in the Tangshan County Detention Center before a later transfer to the Tangshan Yuanyichang Detention Center.

12. [Laiyuan County, Hebei Province] Mr. Yang Geng's Whereabouts Unknown; 2003 Information
Mr. Yang Geng is a practitioner from Laiyuan County who used to work at the County Second Middle School. In 2003 police department officials urged his school principal to trick him into coming to school. When he arrived, police waiting there took him away. He was brutally beaten at the police department before he was sent back to his school to be detained. In order to avoid further persecution, he managed to escape from his school. No one knows where he is.
13. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Shujuan and Ms. Li Hong Arrested
Ms. Li Shujuan, 57, works at the Ciyutuo Refining Plant at the Liaohe Oil Field. Ms. Li and 40-year-old Ms. Li Hong were arrested on February 4, 2009, after a middle school student reported them to police. At present, both practitioners are being held in the Liaohe Oil Field Detention Center.

14. [Guangdong Province] Police Arrest Ms. Liang Donglan
Ms. Liang is from Meizhou, Guangdong Province. At around 7:40 the morning of February 6, 2009, police arrested her as she distributed truth-clarification materials.

15. [Chongqing City] Additional Information Regarding Mr. Hong Liu
On June 3, 2008, while Hong Liu was at work in a shopping center, officials from the Mingyuetuo Police Station and staff from Nanan District 610 Office arrested him. They eventually took him to the Nanan District Detention Center. He was tried on October 10, 2008, and sentenced to two years of forced labor in mid-November. They transferred him to Section 13 at the Chongqing Second Prison. His family was not informed of this until later in December. When they went to visit him on December 27, a regularly scheduled prison visitation day, the guards didn't let them see Mr. Hong.
16. [Jianshui County, Yunnan Province] Ms. Qian Shufang Tried in Court - 2003 Information
Ms. Qian Shunfang, in her 50s, used to work at the Kaiyuan City Power Plant. She was fired from her job for persevering in Dafa cultivation. At noon on July 23, 2003, while she clarified the truth in Jianshui County, someone reported her. Domestic Security Division agents from the Jianshui County Police Department arrested her. Also participating in the arrest were agents from the Mile County Domestic Security Division and from the Kaiyuan City Domestic Security Division. The individuals later ransacked her home. Ms. Qian has since been at the Jianshui Detention Center. Six years later, Jianshui County Court scheduled a trial for her at 3:30 on the afternoon of February 12, 2009.

17. [Shanghai City] Updates on Yang Jinmiao and His Family
Yang Jinmiao and his two daughters, Yang Hairong and Yang Haiyan, were arrested and had their home ransacked on June 4, 2008. The next day the three of them were taken to the Pudong Detention Center. On July 2, 2008 Ms. Yang Haiyan was transferred to a brainwashing center and not released until the Olympics were over.
Mr. Yang Jinmiao and Ms. Yang Hairong were both indicted recently. Pudong Court scheduled a trial for them at 9:30 a.m. on February 11, 2009.
