(Clearwisdom.net) My name is Li Wenxiu, and I am 60 years old. I live in Xiaonanmeng Village, Beimeng Town, Weifang City, Shandong Province. Since I began to cultivate in Falun Gong, I have benefited both mentally and physically. All my diseases have disappeared and I am able to do all kinds of household work.
Since the CCP began to persecute Falun Gong in 1999, I have been detained many times and my home has been searched many times. In 1999, I went to Beijing to validate Dafa. While I was waiting for the train in Gaomi City, police officers from the Railway Police Station took me and the other Falun Dafa practitioners to the police station. I could smell liquor on the officers' breath as they beat us madly. They threw my watch on the ground and broke it. They seized my ticket and all my cash. After they got tired of beating us, they poured cold water on us. I was detained by the village and town government office for nearly a year.
At about 10 p.m., we were taken to the Beimeng Town Police Station. The director during that time was Zhang Haiyang. We were handcuffed for the entire night. The next day, we were forced to sit on the cement floor with our legs and arms stretched out straight. At night, we were brought to the meeting room of the town government, where the staff members plotted to "transform" us. They did not allow us to sleep, and we were forced to stand. Before dawn, we were taken to the snow-covered yard wearing only underwear. Zhang Zuozhi, the town head, kicked us, resulting in bleeding legs and swelling. Qi Xiaoqing, the secretary of the town Political and Judiciary Committee, poured buckets of cold water on our heads. Liu Minglun, the CCP's secretary in town, watched. We were handcuffed in the garage and hallway while not wearing coats. Zhang Zuozhi kicked us. Qi Xiaoqing slapped us in the face and beat us while berating us.
On February 9, 2000, we were taken to Changyi City Detention Center, where we were detained for 30 days. Before we were forced into the truck, Zhang Zuozhi hit me with his fists, clamoring that he would hang a board around my neck. Then we were paraded through the streets.
After 30 days in the detention center, we were detained in the town government office again. Ms. Liu Zicheng and I were detained in a small warehouse on the first floor. Zhang Zuozhi and Qi Xiaoqing would beat and berate us. Our families were extorted 1,000 yuan before we were released.
On October 1, 2000, I went to the appeal bureau of the State Council to explain the facts about Falun Dafa. I then learned that police officers and staff members of government offices were waiting to seize appealers from areas under their jurisdiction. The authorities of Weifang City also set up a so-called "office", where the CCP's secretary and Political and Judiciary committee secretary in Beimeng Town were waiting to seize local practitioners. I was arrested and detained in the Changyi City Detention Center. I persisted in practicing the exercises in the detention center. Consequently, I was kept out of the cell day and night by the guards. After I held a hunger strike for 13 days, I was picked up by police officers from Beimeng Town Police Station. I was released after my family was extorted out of 500 yuan.
On the New Year of 2001, I was detained in the village government office for the third time. Li Zengfu from Xijintai Village, Shifu Town, Liu Minglun, Zhang Zuozhu and Zhang Suoyou, deputy secretary of Beimeng Town, were involved in the persecution. Liu Minglun asked me if I still practiced Falun Gong. After answering yes, Zhang Zuozhi clamped my fingers with a campstool and Liu Minglun exerted his strength to pinch the campstool on the other end. I could not help but cry out, writhing in pain on the ground. My pinched fingernail came off. Zhang Suoyou hit me ten times with the campstool.
I was then taken to the Beimeng Town Police Station, where Zhang Zuozhi, Liu Minglun and Qi Xiaoqing hit me with an electric baton. Later, I was detained in Changyi City Detention Center for 15 days.
On the afternoon of March 3, 2008, agents from Changyi City 610 Office and police officers from Beimeng Town Police Station ransacked my home while I was gone. They seized a laptop, two printers, two tape recorders, and Dafa books and materials. The value of the seized property, including extorted cash, added up to over 10,000 yuan. I was forced to leave my home and am now destitute.
