I began practicing Dafa in 2005. Since then, I have read many articles on the Minghui/Clearwisdom website and many practitioners have shared with me their experiences of how to cultivate. Therefore, I have been progressing very well in my cultivation.
Moving forward while building a truth-clarifying material production center
I understood that Master wanted us to have truth-clarifying material production centers. In my case, I had concerns about safety and difficulties. During the Olympics, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) intensified its persecution and more than ten truth-clarifying material production centers in our area were forced to stop production temporarily at that time.
Master said in the article "Path" in Essentials for Further Advancement II,
"Cultivation is hard. It's hard in that even when a terrible calamity strikes, even when evil madly persecutes, and even when your life is at stake, you still have to be able to steadfastly continue on your path of cultivation without letting anything in human society interfere with the steps you take on your path of cultivation."
There are seven members in my family, and all of us know that Falun Dafa is good. We also have many relatives and friends who often visit our home. Some fellow practitioners were concerned about the safety of the truth-clarifying materials in my home and asked me to take good care of them. At first I tried to find a good place to hide the materials. Then, I realized that hiding comes from a fearful thought and is following the old forces' arrangement instead of following Master's arrangement. So, I keep all the materials in an open book shelf in my bedroom. My fearful thoughts were gone, but I felt superior to those fellow practitioners who had asked me to be careful.
There was one time when my printer failed to work properly. I asked a fellow practitioner for help, but together we still could not make it work properly. Finally, the fellow practitioner said, "It must be that we need to improve our xinxing. Let's study the Fa, then look inward to see what the problem is."
When looking inward, I found that I liked to show off, was fearful of losing face, and looked down on others. All these were human notions that I needed to let go of.
With the correct understanding, I decided to purchase a new printer. Before I got a chance to go, however, another practitioner called and said that she had already bought a new printer and that I could come and get it. At that moment, I understood that improving one's xinxing is the main issue in cultivation. When an attachment is gone, all problems associated with it also disappear. I also understand that a person cannot perform miracles until his mind reaches a god-like state. For a cultivator, the process of producing truth-clarifying materials is one of removing human notions and moving toward godhood.
Using different approaches to save sentient beings
Pasting couplets is a Chinese tradition during the new year. I wrote the following statements: "Dafa brings good luck and a wonderful future." "Being truthful and exercising patience will bring forth happiness", and pasted them on my door. We have the three Chinese characters for, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, written on the wall of our restaurant, and I use every opportunity to tell our clients to perform the three withdrawals. I also write facts about Falun Dafa on all the bills that pass through my hands.
During the Olympics, the CCP increased its persecution of Dafa practitioners. I did not pay any attention to that. Instead, I continued distributing fact sheets and advising people to perform the three withdrawals. One time, while I was placing a fact sheet at someone's door, the resident arrived. I used the opportunity to ask him to do the three withdrawals. He was grateful and even asked me to come into his home.
Another time, I saw two trucks parked along the street. I went over and placed fact sheets on the drivers' seats. It turned out that there was a man sitting in the back seat of one of the trucks, and he said to me, "What are you distributing? Why do you place it on an empty seat instead of giving it to me? If this is something illegal, we need to go to the police department." I replied, "I'm sorry. I didn't see you there. Here is a fact sheet for you. When you understand the facts about Falun Gong, it will bring you peace and happiness." Then, I asked him to remember the words, "Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good." I realized at the time that as a Dafa practitioner, we must be straightforward and open in what we do and our actions should be righteous. If not, people will not respect us.
Since I can produce truth-clarifying materials, I can choose specific wording to target specific groups such as school children or the average person on the street. To the evil people who are persecuting Dafa practitioners in our area, other practitioners and I designed warning letters and letters advising them to be compassionate. We mailed these letters to their family members and posted them on walls where these people could see them. I have printed many articles from the Minghui/Clearwisdom website and given them to practitioners to distribute. Distributing these fact sheets is an important part of the cultivation process.
Sometimes, I take my granddaughter along when I go out to clarify the facts about Falun Gong to people and ask them to perform the three withdrawals. Generally, when I speak to people face-to-face, they are willing to accept my fact sheets. I placed fact sheets in people's cars and bicycles, shopping areas, police stations, and government buildings. Master is expecting us to save more people. Let's all do more along this line.
