(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 10 provinces. As per this report, 29 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 13 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Tianjin] Ms. Li Yuling Held in the Baodi District Detention Center
Ms. Li Yuling from Dakoutun, the Baodi District, went to a local police station on October 20, 2009, to ask for her Falun Gong books that officers had taken from her home. The police detained her and then took her to the the Baodi District Detention Center.
2. [Guangdong Province] The Persecution of Mr. Long Guande, His Wife Ms. Zhan Xuemei, and Their Family
Officers from the Guangzhou City Police Department and from the Dongguan City Police Department arrested Mr. Long Guande and his wife, Ms. Zhan Xuemei, in 2007. Mr. Long was later sentenced to seven years in prison. Ms. Zhan was released after having been detained for a time, but she was still harassed and persecuted by the authorities. Dongguan City 610 Office officials forcibly closed her legally operating video store on Zhetou Street in the Dongcheng District. Her younger brother's supermarket that was ready to open was also closed, causing them heavy economic losses. Unable to live a normal life, Ms. Zhan decided to leave home with her two children. Their whereabouts are unknown.
Dozens of heavily armed police attempted to arrest Ms. Zhan again in October 2009. They searched her non-practitioner older sister's home in Zengcheng City and her non-practitioner younger brother's home in Zhuhai City to try to find her.
3. [Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhao Hongxiang and Mr. Li Xueren Arrested
On November 12, Mudanjiang Railway Public Security Office Domestic Security Division Head Sun Haibin and eight officers arrested Mr. Zhao Hongxiang, who was working at the Mudanjiang Railway Vehicle Section. Mr. Zhao is still held in the Aihe Detention Center.
Domestic Security Division Head Sun Haibin and several officers arrested Mr. Li Xueren at home on November 20, 2009. Mr. Li runs a food store. He is currently in the Aihe Detention Center.

Beita District Court officials planned to have Ms. Lei Lihua, Ms. Luo Tongchun, Mr. Gong Deyuan, Ms. Yan Shuzhou, and Ms. Wang Wuxiu stand trial on November 25, 2009.
6. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] The Persecution of Ms. Cheng Chunying and Others
Ms. Cheng Chunying, Mr. Liu Yanfeng, and Mr. Jiang Xuenong from Wengniute Flag were put on trial in the Wengniute Flag Court on November 5, 2009. They were sentenced to three years in prison and are now being held in the Wengniute Flag Detention Center.
Domestic Security Division Head Liu Caijun grabbed Ms. Cheng by the hair and banged her head against a chair. He also slapped her face. Ms. Cheng's 17-year-old daughter and her blind husband are now on their own at home.
7. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Additional Information Regarding the Arrest of Ms. Xu Zhihong and Ms. Cai Dongru
Officers from the Xujiafang Police Station in the Qingyunpu District arrested Ms. Xu Zhihong and Ms. Cai Dongru as they paid with paper currency on which were written messages about Falun Dafa and the persecution at the Meidelong Supermarket on November 18, 2009.
Ms. Xu, in her 50s, is retired from the Jiangxi State-owned Medicine Co. Ltd. She was arrested as she spoke with people about Falun Gong and the persecution some time in the first half of the year.
Ms. Cai, in her 60s, is retired from the Jiangxi No.4 Machine Tool Co. Ltd.
Ms. Xu returned home around November 20. The police ransacked Ms. Cai's home on the afternoon of November 18 and found two Falun Dafa and persecution-related discs. Ms. Cai is currently in the Nanchang City No.3 Detention Center.

8. [Zhucheng, Shandong Province] The Persecution of Ms. Zhang Ling
Ms. Zhang Ling resides in living quarters affiliated with Zhucheng City Normal University. Local police broke into her home and arrested her one morning in early November 2009. They also took some personal belongings including electrical appliances. Ms. Zhang returned home a week later after her family had taken great pains to rescue her.
9. [Ningde City, Fujian Province] Ms. Wu Huibin Subjected to Forced Labor
Local Domestic Security Division personnel arrested and took Ms. Wu Huibin to the local detention center on September 20, 2009. She was sent to the Fujian Province Women's Forced Labor Camp for a one-year term on November 20, 2009. While there, her mother made many requests to meet with her daughter, but was repeatedly turned away.

10. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Shuzhi Sentenced to Two Years in Prison
Mr. Liu Shuzhi, in her 60s, is from Qinggang Village and worked part time in Beijing. When he spoke with a person about Falun Gong and the persecution in September 2009, the person intimidated him and attempted to extort 200 yuan from him. Mr. Liu was framed for refusing to comply with the extortion attempt, was sentenced to two years in prison, and is now being held in the Baoding No.1 Prison.
11. [Luchuan County, Guangxi Autonomous Region] A Number of Practitioners Arrested
Officers from the Luchuan County Police Department and Criminal Investigation Team broke into the homes of a number of practitioners at 5:00 p.m. on November 24, 2009. They arrested several practitioners and ransacked their homes. In one incident, Luchuan County Police Department officers broke into Ms. Liu Juan's home claiming to be checking for fireworks, arrested her, and took two copies of Falun Gong books.

12. [Cangzhou, Hebei Province]Yunhe District Court Officials Try Mr. Wang Jijun and Mr. Tian Jingxian
Yunhe District Court officials put Mr. Wang Jijun and Mr. Tian Jingxian on trial on November 23, 2009. Mr. Wang's family invited two upstanding lawyers from Beijing, Mr. Zhang Chuanli and Mr. Lan Zhixue, to enter a plea of innocent.
Mr. Tian stood trial in the afternoon. Both practitioners are currently in the Cangzhou City Detention Center.

13. [Datong, Shanxi Province] The Persecution of Mr. Xu Jianliang
Mr. Xu Jianliang from Hunyuan County was reported as he distributed informational materials about Falun Gong in the Jiaocheng County mountainous area on October 29, 2009. He was arrested in Xishe Town, Jiaocheng County, and is currently held in the Jiaocheng County Police Department Detention Center.
14. [Shaoyang, Hunan Province] Mr. Wang Ruihai Faces Trial
Mr. Wang Ruihai from Xinning went out of town for a part-time job on August 15, 2009. He was arrested in Shaoyang City on his way home. He was held in the Xinning County Detention Center and stood trial on the morning of November 25, 2009.
The police went to Mr. Wang's home and took his wife and father to the Shaoyang City Brainwashing Center. They have since returned home.

15. [Jiujiang County, Jiangxi Province] Additional Information Regarding the Arrest of Ms. Tian Haiying
Ms. Tian Haiying from Jiujiang County was arrested while she was washing clothes on a river bank in front of her home the afternoon of November 20, 2009. Participating in the arrest were plainclothes officers from the Jiujiang County Police Department, the Xunyang District Police Department, and the Xunyang District Police Station. They took Ms. Tian to the Shili Detention Center in Jiujiang City and are still holding her in custody.
16. [Inner Mongolia] Mr. Liu Peiyu's Third Arrest
Mr. Liu Peiyu lives in Dayangshu Town, Erlunchun Autonomous Flag, Hulunber League. He was arrested the third time on November 20, 2009. His wife was not home and avoided being arrested. The police took a notebook computer, a desktop computer, and other items.

17. [Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Fan Yunjuan Subjected to Forced Labor
Ms. Fan Yunjuan from Changzhou City was arrested prior to October 1, 2009. She was later on sentenced to 21 months of forced labor. She and other practitioners from the same city are incarcerated in Judong Women's Forced Labor Camp.
18. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Lianjun and Others Arrested
Ms. Zhang Lianjun, Ms. Qi Fengqiu, and Ms. Mu Suzhen from Shenyang City spoke with people about Falun Gong and the persecution in the Tiexi District the afternoon of November 22, 2009. Qigong Police Station officers arrested them. Their whereabouts are unknown.
19. [Chongqing] The Persecution of Elderly Ms. Yang Meizhe
More than a dozen police officers from the Jiulongpo District broke into 75-year-old Ms. Yang Meizhe's home at 11:00 p.m. on October 3, 2009, arresting her and ransacking her home. They also took several copies of Falun Gong books, an MP 3 player, and a computer. They released Ms. Yang after holding her in a study session for three days, claiming they had made a mistake.
20. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Three practitioners--Mr. Wang Changzheng, Ms. Zhu Cuiju, and Mr. Huang--went to distribute informational materials about Falun Gong in the Dongfeng No.3 Team, Xin'andu, the Dongxi Lake District, the evening of November 23, 2009. Village security head Zhao Haiyang reported them. They were arrested and taken to the Xin'andu Police Station. They were transferred to the Jinghe Detention Center in the Dongxi Lake District the morning of November 24, 2009.

21. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Wuchang District Court Officials Sentenced Ms. Mei Dazuo to Four Years in Prison
22. [Gejiu City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Jiang Yanhua and Ms. Chen Xiangzheng Still in Custody
Ms. Jiang Yanhua, 51, and Ms. Chen Xiangzheng, 71, from Datun Town spoke with people about Falun Gong on November 3, 2009. State Security agents disguised as farmers arrested them in the fields. When both practitioners protested the illegal arrest, the special agents use extreme force to carry them into a vehicle and drove them away. They are still being held in custody in the Datun Town Detention Center and denied family visits.
Ms. Jiang and Ms. Chen were once arrested in 2005 and sent to the Yunnan Province No.2 Women's Prison in 2006. They were subjected to gross abuse and mistreatment during detention and were unable to straighten their backs when released. They regained their health after doing the Falun Gong exercises.

23. [Tancheng, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Binglan and Mr. Sun Dejian Stand Trial and Still Held in Custody
Tancheng Court officials tried Ms. Zhang Binglan and her husband, Mr. Sun Dejian, from Tancheng County on November 11, 2009. Beijing lawyers Mr. Cheng Hai and Mr. Li Jinglin entered a plea of innocent for them. Ms. Zhang is still in custody, but Mr. Sun has returned home.
