(Clearwisdom.net) After reading articles from Minghui Weekly about fellow practitioners using their divine powers in rectifying the Fa and clarifying the truth, I would like to share my own understandings on this same subject.
Master tells us,
"Supernormal abilities are also called divine powers. Contemporary people call them extraordinary abilities." and that "A being's level is determined by his xinxing. That is, when you use supernormal abilities your righteous thoughts must be strong." ("What Are Supernormal Abilities" from Essentials for Further Advancement II)
I realize that the very first requirement for divine powers is a firm belief in Master and Dafa. Master bestows divine powers to practitioners to enable them to eliminate persecution, rectify Dafa, disintegrate the evil, protect ourselves, and save more sentient beings. Thus when a practitioner is using divine powers, one must have no doubts, such as, "Do I have divine powers? Am I able to use them? Will they be effective?" One must not think with this human mindset. We must fundamentally change that thinking. Using a cultivator's mindset, we do have Buddha divine powers, and our powers are enormous.
During the persecution, Dafa practitioners have continued sending forth righteous thoughts. Our righteous thoughts send out our gong and divine powers in other dimensions to disintegrate the evil factors. Now there are fewer and fewer evil elements, as people are awakening to the truth all over the world.
1. Clearing Away Spirit Possession
One of our family members passed away in April 2004. During the funeral, my sister suddenly began behaving very strangely, with fast and clipped talking, as well as making jerking motions with her body. Soon I remembered what Master said about spirit or animal possession. My sister was surely being possessed by a low-level evil spirit in another dimension. According to Master's teaching,
"Actually, I say that they are not formidable and are nothing before a true practitioner. Though you may find one that has practiced cultivation for nearly one thousand years, a tiny finger will be more than enough to crush it." (Zhuan Falun)
I thought of disintegrating it and then my sister said, "I am okay now."
2. Making Policemen Leave
One night in August 2004, the local police station sent out two police cars to park under my upstairs apartment. I heard them talking, "Ask him whether he practices Falun Gong or not. If yes, then arrest him." I then sent forth the thought, "Disintegrate all the evil behind them. Don't let them come upstairs. Back away!" After a short while, I heard them continue to talk, "Let's go!" "Where?" "Back to the station." "But we have the arrest warrant." "Tear it up!" Finally the two police cars left.
3. Using Supernormal Abilities to Eliminate Evil Factors
One night, I was awakened by terrible itching all over my body. As it came on suddenly and violently, I was near a state of panic. Then I thought that I must remain calm. Master said,
"Therefore, to really heal an illness and completely cure it requires supernormal abilities. There is a specific supernormal ability for curing every illness. With regard to the supernormal abilities for curing illnesses, I would say that there are over one thousand kinds, and that there are as many supernormal abilities as illnesses." (Zhuan Falun)
Thus at the time I thought, "The relevant supernormal ability that deals with the terrible itching, please manifest. Please use divine power to disintegrate all evil factors and spirits in all dimensions." Immediately all the itching was gone and I was able to go back to sleep. The next morning when I woke up, I marveled at how amazing the powers had been. If we use supernormal abilities per the Fa teachings and do it in a righteous, pure way, then it will be tremendously effective.
4. Fixing a Water Pipe with Only Mental Power
One time a water pipe inside my apartment began leaking more and more, until finally only a tiny stream of water remained flowing from my facet. My first thought was to call a plumber to fix it. Then I thought that being a Falun Dafa practitioner, I should have supernormal abilities to do things beyond an everyday person's abilities. I then used my thoughts to command, "The supernormal ability that stops water leaks, please manifest! Cover all the dimensions and omit none!" I then went to do some other things. The next day when I remembered, I turned the faucet and the water problem was truly fixed!
Of course, when encountering things, I search inward. There is still fear, the attachment of comfort, doubting others, and other everyday people's thoughts that need me to further cultivate away. On the other hand, Dafa practitioners do have supernormal abilities. We need to remember, however, that we are here to assist Master in rectifying the Fa, so as to save sentient beings.
