(Clearwisdom.net) Editors' note: In both Western and Chinese cultures, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. The universe will reward acts that are in harmony with this principle, while doing things such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely "following orders," the universal law requires that they, too, be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.

In Urumqi City, Xinjiang Province, China, there were two drug-addicted women, Guo Zhiping and Ren Yan, both in their 30s, who were incarcerated in the Urumqi Women's Forced Labor Camp. They did the bidding of female guard Ba Xiaomei. Guo and Ren had been in and out of the camp several times. While serving a one-year sentence from 2006 to 2007, they took part in helping to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Working with guard Gao Hui, Ren Yan knocked out two teeth from practitioner Ms. Jiao Dongmei. At the end of 2006, Ren and Guo beat practitioner Ms. Su Guizhi severely. To keep others from seeing Ms. Su's terrible condition, they confined her in an isolated room until she was nearly recovered. Another time, they persecuted an elderly practitioner and a younger practitioner, Ms. Guo Baoling. The younger practitioner had stepped forward to protect the older practitioner. They nearly beat Ms. Guo Baoling to death.

When Dafa practitioners clarified the truth to them, Guo and Ren not only refused to listen but also showed no concern, proclaiming that there was no such thing as karmic retribution. Often in the hallway they shouted out slanderous words about Dafa. In August 2007, a little over a month after they were released from the camp, Guo Zhiping suddenly died, and Ren Yan was severely injured in a fight. Afterwards she was ordered to serve a sentence at Urumqi Women's Prison. She is bedridden and is only able to slightly move her head. Her condition is pitiful, and there is no one that cares about her.
