(Clearwisdom.net) On September 19, 2007, Ms. Gao Yumin was arrested by the National Security Team and was forced to have an abortion. She lost of lot of blood and her life was in danger. Her family spent over ten thousand yuan to save her life. On December 15, 2008, Fujin City policen broke into Ms. Gao Yumin's home, arrested and sent her to Xigemu Forced Labor Camp in Jiamusi City.
In September, 2007, Ms. Gao Yumin was visiting her mother at her elder brother's home. Around noon on September 19, a group of police from the National Security Team of Fujin City and the police station knocked on the door of her brother's home. They lied, saying that they were officials from the building management and that neighbors upstairs had a water leak which had to be fixed.
Ms. Gao Yumin opened the door. The police rushed into the room and began to grab things. The police arrested Mr. Gao Liansheng, Ms. Gao Yumei, and Ms. Gao Yumin, who was three months pregnant. Three or four police dragged Ms. Gao Yumin out and took her to a forced labor camp. The police took away Mr. Gao Liansheng's DVD burner and 2000 yuan cash.
Ms. Gao Yumin was detained at the detention center and suffered persecution there for 28 days. Her physical condition increasingly worsened. She could not see anything and had symptoms of extreme iron deficiency. She passed out and was sent to Fujin Railroad Hospital for a blood transfusion. Doctors and nurses hurried to save her life. They found her abdomen heavily bruised and discovered the dead foetus in her womb. The doctor informed Ms. Gao Yumin that when she was sent to the hospital they could not feel her pulse and her heart had stopped beating. It was a miracle that she had come back to life.
The local police arrested many Falun Gong practitioners that year as the October 1st National Day holiday approached. The police claimed that they would not release any practitioner before the closing of the 17th Congress (a big communist party political gathering). It was said that if people were well connected and willing to pay bribes, they could be released. Since Ms. Gao Yumin was near death, Pei Xiaodong from the National Security Team wanted to escape responsibility for killing a pregnant woman, so he agreed to release Ms. Gao Yumin for medical treatment. Ms. Gao Yumin stayed in the hospital for eight days before she was sent home to recover.
At 9 o'clock on December 15, 2008, the police from Fujin City Police Station broke into Ms. Gao Yumin's home and took her away. At 11 pm that night, they took her to the Xigemu Forced Labor Camp, Jiamusi City.
The police told Ms. Gao Yumin that she had not finished her forced labor term in 2007 and there was still a few months left. This arrest was treated as an extension of a previous case and so there was no need to go through interrogation. However, after arriving at the forced labor camp, the police at the forced labor camp told Ms. Gao Yumin that the Fujin Police Station had sentenced her to two additional years.
The victim is still detained in the Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp and suffering persecution. We hope human rights organizations can investigate her case and provide some help.
