(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 22 cities or counties in 9 provinces. In this report, 22 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 26 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Gao Zhenhua Arrested
At around noon on October 22, 2009, seven police officers arrived at the Risheng Computer and Photocopying Store owned by Mr. Gao Zhenhua in Tongyuanbao Town, Fengcheng City. They confiscated his personal belongings. Mr. Gao was taken to an undisclosed location.

2. [Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhang Zhi and Mr. Xu Zhi Tortured in Daqing Prison
Mr. Zhang Zhi and Mr. Xu Zhi have been unlawfully held at the Education Division in Daqing Prison. They refused to wear prison uniforms. As a result, both practitioners have been restrained on steel chairs for several days.
3. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Additional Information on Mr. Bi Shijun in Detention
Mr. Bi Shijun lives in the Boyuquan area in Yingkou City. He has been held at the Boyuquan Detention Center. His wife, Ms. Sun Li, has been held at the Yingkou Detention Center. Other practitioners who have been held at the Yingkou Detention Center for over a month include Ms. Yu Zhihong (wife of Mr. Wang Shenlun), Ms. Deng Wenmin (wife of Mr. Shen Guanghai), and Ms. Guo Jinrong, who is from the Xiongyue area.
Those held at the Boyunquan Detention Center for over a month include: Mr. Dong Yong, Mr. Dong's father and younger brother who are not practitioners, Mr. Shen Guanghai, and Mr. Wang Zhiyuan (Mr. Wang Zhiyuan's son). Mr. Wang Shenlun has been held there for over four months.
4. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Additional Information on the Arrests of Ms. Meng Su'e and Three Other Practitioners
Ms. Meng Su'e, 65; Ms. Gu Suzhi, 67; Ms. Zhang Zhixian, 65; and Mr. Zhang Yuewu, 60, are practitioners in the Sujiatun District in Shenyang City. On October 12, 2009, the four went to Yingpan Township in the Sujiatun District to hand out the 2009 Chinese New Year's Spectacular DVDs . After receiving reports, the police forcibly took them to the Dagou Police Station. The practitioners are being held at the Zaohua Detention Center in the Yuhong District, Shenyang City. Their families have been not been allowed to visit them.

5. [Tonghe County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Lu Qianli Detained by Domestic Security Division
At around 11:00 a.m. on October 13, 2009, Sun Xiaowu and Wang Shaobin from the Tonghe County Domestic Security Division; Wang Hanfu, deputy director of the Nonghe Town Police Station; and other officers broke into Mr. Lu Peigen's home. The officers arrested Mr. Lu and confiscated Falun Dafa books and a portrait of the founder of Falun Gong. On the morning of October 14, Mr. Lu Qianli, who is also a practitioner, went to the Domestic Security Division asking for the release of his father. He was detained by the police. The police searched his home and confiscated a computer. Mr. Lu Peigen was released on the third day. His son, Mr. Lu Qianli, remains in police custody.

6. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Mr. Shan Yanming Taken to Brainwashing Center after Serving Seven Years in Prison
Mr. Shang Yanping from the Hongshan District in Chifeng City was illegally sentenced to seven years in prison. On October 20, 2009, his elderly parents went to the prison in Panjin City, Liaoning Province, to take him home after he had served the full seven-year term. However, Bai Yin'er from the Chifeng City 610 Office and other officers had taken Mr. Shang directly to the Chifeng City Brainwashing Center.

On May 1, 2009, officers from the Zhuliang Town Police Station in Qingzhou City arrested Mr. Li Chengrong, a resident of Lianpo Village in Gaoliu Town. He has been held at the Qingzhou City Detention Center. It has been reported that he has been unlawfully sentenced to five years in prison.
11. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Ma Yongfa Arrested from His Home
Mr. Ma Yongfa lives in Dongbei Village in the Jiage area in Anqiu City under the jurisdiction of Weifang City. He has been homeless since 2002. On October 2, 2009, he called saying he was coming home. On October 3, Bao Zhendong, director of the Jiage Police Station, and several police officers arrested him at his home. Mr. Ma has been held at the Anqiu Detention Center.
12. [Shandong Province] Ms. Yan Ruiying, a Retired Teacher of Liangshan County No. 2 Middle School, Taken to Jinan Brainwashing Center
Early evening on October 18, 2009, Ms. Yan Ruiying, 58, a retired teacher of the Liangshan County No. 2 Middle School, was arrested after being falsely accused. That night, she developed serious symptoms of illness and was rushed to the county hospital in an ambulance. She was diagnosed with gallstones. The physicians advised that she be taken to a hospital that was better equipped. However, Zhang Zhentao, head of the county 610 Office, ordered officials of the county education department to take her to the Jinan Brainwashing Center regardless of her life-threatening condition.
13. [Yangxin County, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhao Changfa Held in Detention Center
Mr. Zhao Changfa in Yangxin County was arrested at the end of September 2009. The police confiscated his computer, printer, and other personal belongings. Mr. Zhao has been held at the Yanxin County Detention Center.
14. [Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Li Hongjie and Other Practitioners Arrested
Late at night on September 28, 2009, Li Sheng, director of the Qiuji Town Police Station in Suining County, Xuzhou City, and a group of police officers broke into Mr. Li Hongjie's home. They arrested Mr. Li and a female practitioner and confiscated Falun Dafa books. The two practitioners are being held at the Suining County Detention Center.
In addition, Mr. Song Yushu, who lives where the county seat is located, and Mr. Zhang Buhua, who lives in Qiuji Town, have been transferred to the Fangqiang Forced Labor Camp. They have been held at the Suining County Detention Center for several months.

15. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Luo Wenbin, an Outstanding Teacher at Luojia No. 1 Middle School, Held in Custody
Mr. Luo Wenbin, 34, is a former Outstanding Teacher at the Luojia No. 1 Middle School in Qingshanhu District. On September 17, 2009, he was arrested by officers from the Xujiafang Police Station while painting "Falun Dafa Is Great" on an electric pole in the Qingyunpu District. He is being held at the Nanchang City No. 2 Detention Center.
Mr. Luo has been arrested on numerous occasions. In 2000, he was sentenced to seven years in prison. When he was released from Yuzhang Prison in 2007, he lost his job. All of his identification cards, including his diploma and teaching certificate, have been withheld by the Qingshanhu Police Department. He suffered inhuman torture in prison. He is physically weak and has been unable to find a job.
16. [Shuangliu County, Sichuan Province] Police Search the Homes of Elderly Practitioners Ms. Han Yuhua and Ms. Chen Changbi
Ms. Han Yuhua and Ms. Chen Changbi, in their 60s, live in Shuangliu County. The police arrested them on October 17, 2009. The officers also searched their homes and confiscated their personal belongings. The whereabouts of the two practitioners are unknown.

17. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yu Xianrong Arrested; Her Home Searched
On the morning of September 20, 2009, officers from the Chengbei Police Station in Guanghan City arrested Ms. Yu Xianrong. In the afternoon, the officers, led by Wang Yonghong, searched her home in Gaogongqiao Village, Gaoping Town, Guanghan City. They confiscated all Falun Dafa books, a DVD player, a cassette player, and DVDs.

18. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhou Hui Arrested
On the morning of October 23, 2009, a production site for Falun Dafa materials near the Guanghan Railroad Station was searched. Ms. Zhou Hui was arrested. The police confiscated a computer, a DVD burner, two laser printers, a multifunction laser printer, DVDs, and supplies.
19. [Yibin City, Sichuan Province] Persecution Cases in Gong County
Ms. Zheng Fafen, in her 50s, lives in Gong County, Yibin City. She was employed at the Xunchang Town Mining Department in Gong County. On September 30, 2009, she was arrested by officers from the Gong County Police Department. Officers and residential committee officials searched her home. Her whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Du Xiangfen, in her 70s, was arrested by officers from the Gong County Police Department and residential committee officials on September 30. Her whereabouts are unknown.
Mr. Zhang Dahong, in his 30s, was taken to the Yibin City Brainwashing Center by officers from the Gong County Police Department and residential committee officials on September 14. He has been released.
Ms. Xie Guangfen, in her 50s, was taken to the Yibin City Brainwashing Center by officers from the Gong County Police Department and residential committee officials on October 2.

21. [Muling City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Song Xiuyu Arrested by Domestic Security Division Again
Shortly after 10:00 a.m. on October 21, 2009, Ms. Song Xiuyu, 69, was again arrested by the Domestic Security Division. She is being held at the Muling City Detention Center. She is in poor physical condition.

Ms. Liu Wei is a teacher at the Xiangxin Elementary School in Harbin City. On October 15, she was arrested by officers from the Xiangfang Police Department. She has been on a hunger strike for four days. The police have extorted a significant amount of money from her family.
24. [Beijing] Ms. Zhang Guishu Harassed on Numerous Occasions
Officers from the Xitianzhuang Township Police Station in Miyun County, Beijing, and officials from the village committee have harassed Ms. Zhang Guishu at her home in Hubuzhuang Village several times. The lives of Ms. Zhang and her family have been disrupted. Early in the morning on September 11, 2009, Ms. Zhang went to the fields to dig peanuts. At around 8:00 a.m. a dozen police officers suddenly arrived in three vehicles. They jumped over a wall to break into her home. The police were angry after ransacking the place and not finding anything. They were to search Ms. Zhang's son's home, however, Ms. Zhang's daughter-in-law berated the officers and stopped them.
25. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Li Arrested
Ms. Wang Li, 35, lives in the Wangjiazhuang area in Kangzhuang Town, Gaomi City, under the jurisdiction of Weifang City. She has been homeless since 2001.
On the afternoon of October 20, 2009, Ms. Wang went to the Gaomi City Human Resources Market to process a card to collect unemployment compensation. Plainclothes officers from the Development District Police Station in Gaomi City arrested her. She is being held at the Gaomi City Detention Center.

26. [Pingquan County, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Shuwen, His Wife, and Another Practitioner Arrested and Sentenced to Forced Labor
Mr. Wang Shuwen, in his 50s, and his wife, Ms. Liu Yulan, 56, live in Dudaiyingzi Village, Qijiadai Township, Pingquan County. Shortly after 8:00 a.m. on September 15, 2009, Liu Guoquan, head of the Pingquan County Domestic Security Division, led officers to search their home. The police arrested the couple. Two or three days later, Mr. Wang was taken to the Shuangfengsi Forced Labor Camp in Chengde City and is serving an 18-month term. Ms. Liu was taken to the Kaiping Forced Labor in Tangshan City and is serving a 12-month term.
Ms. Fan Guijie, 50, lives Dudaiyingzi Village in Qijiadai Township. At around 6:00 a.m. on September 6, 2009, Liu Guoquan and other officers from the domestic security division arrested her while she was working at the family mushroom greenhouse. Her home was searched. She was taken to the Kaiping Forced Labor Camp as well.

Shortly after 2:00 p.m. on October 22, 2009, Ms. Wang Meifen was arrested while telling the public about the persecution. After 3:00 p.m., officers from the Zhaoyuan City 610 Office and officials from the Guoda Gold Metallurgy Group Company searched her home. Ms. Wang is retired from the group company. The officers confiscated Falun Dafa books and other items. Her whereabouts is unknown.
