(Clearwisdom.net) On September 18, 2009, I finally got back my six thousand yuan from the authorities. This money was extorted from me eight years ago by Geng Xiaobo, the former chief and Wei Guogui, the former political instructor of Yuanlin Police Station.
This is how it happened. I went to Beijing to appeal on January 22, 2002. I took with me more than five thousand yuan, which was a loan that my sister had recently repaid me. As soon as I arrived in Beijing's Tiananmen Square, the police arrested me and took me to Beijing Digongmen Police Station. They searched my body, took my cash, totaling 5,900 yuan, and put it on the desk. I asked an officer, "Do you plan to take the money?" He said, "This is yours. Whoever takes it away violates human rights. You don't need to worry. The money will be returned by the government." I remember his words very clearly.
Later, when Wei Guogui and other officers from Daqing Yuanlin Police station transported me to Daqing Datong Detention Center, they cheated me. "Why did you have so much money with you?" they asked. "We gave your money and your watch to your family." I doubted that they were telling me the truth, but they insisted upon it and finally I accepted their lies. I asked them to write me a receipt. They hesitated, but eventually wrote it and gave it to me before they left. I kept this proof through a great many adventures.
Eighteen days after I was taken to Daqing Datong Detention Center, I was released. My left leg was bruised, I was paralyzed and my family carried me home. After several days, I walked, with great difficulty, to the police station and asked Geng Xiaobo for my money. He said we would look into the matter but then later refused to meet me. I was persistent and went to see him several times until he finally saw me and said that the money was gone. Later, he was transferred to another department and I wrote him a letter but received no response. I was firm in my belief that they were obligated to return my money.
Over the course of the following eight years, I never missed a chance to demand that my money be returned. I heard that the chief of the Daqing Police met with the public every Wednesday. On September 2, 2009, at around 7:00 am, I took a copy of my receipt and went to tell him my story. I met with a man named Mr. Zhang. I explained the situation to him and he called his supervisor. He said that the officers at Yuanlin Police Station would resolve my problem. He made it clear that if the problem was not resolved, I should go back to see him.
The next day, I took a bus to Yuanlin Police Station. The officers there took care of my problem. In approximately two weeks I received six thousand yuan - 5,900 yuan for the stolen cash and one hundred yuan for my watch.
I have written this story to encourage my fellow Falun Gong practitioners. We must stand up for our rights. The authorities should return our money and goods when then they take them. Anyone who takes others' money and goods is violating the law. Additionally, believing in Falun Dafa is one of our rights. The Constitution says we have "freedom of belief."
