(Clearwisdom.net) On September 13, 2008, the Lotus Flower Performing Arts, consisting of Falun Gong practitioners, participated in the Mid-Autumn Festival celebration organized by the Chinese Service Center in Toronto. Mr. Wang, the leader of the performing arts troupe, said that the goal of the Lotus Flower Performing Arts is to teach young Chinese children the traditional culture and arts. The young members started training during the summer, and they learned very quickly.
The young practitioners performed two dances.
The Lotus Flower Performing Arts was founded in 2002 by Zhang Tiejun, a famous dancer and Falun Gong practitioner. That year it won the National Outstanding Achievement Award issued by the Toronto City Government.
