(Clearwisdom.net) From August 10 to 14, 2008, the Twelfth International Congress of the Transplantation Society (TTS) was held in Sydney, Australia. Many Falun Gong practitioners stood in front of the Sydney Convention Center in Darling Harbor and called on the TTS to pay attention to the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) atrocities of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners.
Falun Gong practitioners clarify the truth to medical scholars |
Falun Gong practitioners clarified the truth during the conference. Some of them demonstrated the exercises or sent forth righteous thoughts. Some held banners, while others distributed informational literature and collected signatures. Quite a few doctors attending the meetings and passers-by signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution. Every day, there are touching stories.
"I stand with Falun Gong practitioners until the end of the persecution"
Transplantation nurse Linda from Scotland told the practitioners that she first heard about the CCP's atrocities two years ago when she attended the international TTS congressin Boston. After returning to Scotland, she told the story to her colleagues.
As she spoke, Linda had tears in her eyes. She said that she could not believe that such a thing was happening. She said that she couldn't believe that the CCP could kill innocent people. She said that arresting people, torturing them, and then selling their organs is a terrible crime.
Linda said that she would inquire of the TTS why they are not spending more time talking about this issue. She said that she would raise questions on this topic after the speech by the Chinese Minister of Health.
Linda said, "After returning to Scotland, I'll find the Falun Gong practitioners in front of the Chinese Embassy in Scotland. I'll stand with them and support them. I'll support you until the end."
Will the banners lead to shame and regret for some doctors?
One German doctor said to a practitioner, "I saw your banners outside. I can say that I have acted based on the conscience of a doctor. Perhaps some doctors will feel ashamed after looking at the banners, because they have done what they should not do."
Practitioner Ms. Qu Guangyao, who suffered torture in a Chinese prison, told the German doctor, "When I was imprisoned in forced labor camps, some practitioners protested the persecution by holding hunger strikes. The camp guards force-fed them, and then the practitioners were transferred and were never seen again. Many doctors know that the number of Chinese organ transplantations has increased a lot, but due to Chinese traditions, voluntary organ donation is rare. Those Falun Gong practitioners that went missing are quite possibly victims of organ harvesting." The German doctor said, "We all know the facts and would like to put forward questions about the issue. I'll ask questions to Chinese Health Minister Huang Jiefu about the rapid increase of organ transplantation in China after his speech. We cannot allow these crimes to continue in China."
Chinese doctors left abruptly after being questioned
A doctor at St. Vincent de Paul Hospital in Sydney said after picking a piece of literature, "In 2006 at the International Congress of TTS in Boston, when a Chinese doctor gave a presentation on stage, I asked him, 'How do you explain the sudden increase of organ transplantation in China?' The Chinese doctors in the audience did not speak a word, but stood up and left. Their unusual response led me to believe that something wrong was going on."
Israeli doctor: Such organ transplantation may open a door for commercial organ trading and killings
Practitioner Ms. Qu said, "On August 11, in a session called 'Cultural Barriers to Transplantation', I listened to the presentation of an Israeli doctor. He mentioned that China's non-relative organ transplantation rates have increased dramatically. He said that he does not conduct such organ transplantation. After his presentation, I talked with him and asked him if he knew of the CCP's live organ harvesting. He said that he did not do transplantations for organs from China since there was no donor information. In addition, he is concerned about non-relative organ transplantation, especially from China, opening a door for commercial organ trading and killing."
Live organ removal must be stopped
Practitioner Ms. Zheng, who was distributing flyers, talked about her observation, "When we explained the facts to doctors, many of them expressed their sympathy. Many said that they knew about the issue and encouraged us to keep going to stop the crimes. But Chinese doctors did not accept our flyers before boarding a large bus. I think they were being monitored by the Chinese Consulate based on their tense and fearful expressions. The CCP is terrified of doctors defecting and exposing the truth. But I'd like to tell the Chinese doctors, 'Live organ removal is not allowed by Heaven's principles. Speaking out the truth is to save others and yourself.'"
