(Clearwisdom.net) In the French newspaper L'est Republicain on July 9, 2008, a series of articles entitled, "China: Being treated inhumanely" and "Organ harvesting: Proof," etc. were published, carrying conclusive and irrefutable proof to confirm the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. These articles were also posted on the newspaper's website.
The article "China: Being treated inhumanely" pointed out that men, women and children were being arrested for practicing Falun Gong, or more seriously, because they had taught other people to practice Falun Gong. Without any legal procedures, they are being detained, imprisoned, and cruelly tortured in forced labor camps.
The article stated that some of the people who experienced the persecution first-hand provided evidence after they were released. There were very few who had escaped. A young educated woman named Feng Yajun had escaped and now lives in Paris. Her parents were persecuted to death by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) authorities. Their only "offense" was opening a book shop and selling Falun Gong tapes and books. Yajun herself was also imprisoned for two years, and was frequently beaten, humiliated, and abused. In one particular place - Nanyang, she was subjected to brainwashing. She was detained in a forced labor camp in Sujiatun, a place known for harvesting organs from living practitioners. When she worked in the labor camp - making candles and Christmas ornaments, she could hear the screaming sounds of others being brutally tortured. Her brother Jian was also persecuted, and is now in the US after obtaining asylum from the government there.
The article also pointed out that one could find over one hundred cases like these reported by human rights organizations. Many reports revealed the abuse in mental institutions, such as in Yantai City, Qiqihar, in Yichun and Baiyun. The evidence is authentic and irrefutable.
Falun Gong practitioner Su Juzhen from Liaoning Province was arrested in November 1999. She recounted how she had been tortured by forced physical labor, electric shocks, and forcibly-administered unknown drugs. She was beaten, particularly with electric batons. A work team fighting for human rights for Falun Gong has written a report containing over one hundred pages, with direct witness accounts as a basis, describing the different forms of torture and maltreatment. These statements have been verified by the reports of many human rights organizations like Amnesty International.
The article entitled "Organ harvesting: Proof" accounted Falun Gong practitioners' allegations of the CCP's organ harvesting.
The article stated that on January 31, 2007, David Matas, an international human rights lawyer, and David Kilgour, former Secretary of State (Asia-Pacific) for Canada, formed an independent investigation team and came to this conclusion after investigation: "We have concluded that the government of China and its agencies in numerous parts of the country, in particular hospitals but also detention centers and 'people's courts', since 1999 have put to death a large but unknown number of Falun Gong prisoners of conscience. Their vital organs, including kidneys, livers, corneas and hearts, were seized involuntarily for sale at high prices, sometimes to foreigners, who normally face long waits for voluntary donations of such organs in their home countries." Later in their report it is stated, "Our conclusion comes not from any one single item of evidence, but rather the piecing together of all the evidence we have considered. Each portion of the evidence we have considered is, in itself, verifiable and, in most cases, incontestable. Put together, they paint a damning whole picture."
The article also stated that indications of Falun Gong members being killed for their organs could be found on websites of some hospitals in China. A Shanghai hospital made the following statement, "To all those ill people needing liver transplants, the waiting time will not exceed one week." Soon afterward the atrocities were exposed this advertisement disappeared.
The article also stated that according to the report by Mr. Kilgour and Mr. Matas, since 1999 when the persecution of Falun Gong began, the supply of organs for transplant in China has increased rapidly. In 1998 there were only nine cases of liver transplant, but by 2004 the official number increased to 1601 cases. This is one of the examples, but does not indicate medical progress. One can also obtain relevant information from medical conferences that Chinese surgeons attended.
