Today's report relates persecution incidents that took place in 41 cities or counties in 14 provinces. Twenty-eight Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to brutal mistreatment during detention, and at least 52 practitioners were arrested.

Personnel from the Liquan County Police Department arrested 60-year-old Ms. Xu Fengmei on June 11, 2008, when she explained the facts about Falun Gong. Ms. Xu is being held in the county detention center.

2. [Heilongjiang Province] Practitioners Held in the Baoqing County Detention Center Stage a Hunger Strike Together

3. [Fuxin County, Liaoning Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Personnel from the Fuxin County Police Department arrested Ms. Li Guiyun, Ms. Song Guiyun, Ms. Zhang Yuping, Ms. Li Jingling, and Mr. Pu Zhaoyi on May 29, 2008. The reason for this raid was "the Olympic Games." The practitioners are being held in the county detention center.

4. [Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Zhao Qingxue and two other officers from the Lanxi County Police Department's Domestic Security Division in Suihua City arrested Ms. Li Shuhua on March 17, 2008. They ransacked her home and confiscated 12,000 yuan cash and some Falun Gong truth clarification materials. They eventually took her the county's No.1 Detention Center. Ms. Li had several episodes of the onset of heart disease and was hospitalized on May 28, 2008.

The police also arrested Mr. Shi Shaojun and Ms. Sun Yuhong in March 2008. The three above-named practitioners have been tortured for three months.

5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] One Practitioner Released - Ms. Wang Yingxia Still Under Arrest

Personnel from the Xindu District Chengxi Police Station arrested Ms. Wang Yingxia and Ms. Yang Bing at 3:00 p.m. on June 11, 2008. Ms. Yang has been released while Ms. Wang is still being held in the district's detention center.

6. [Xinji City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Zhipu Arrested

Several officers from the Nanzhiqiu Town Police Station in Xinji City broke into Mr. Wang Zhipu's home in Sishang Village at 12:00 p.m. on June 16, 2008. They coerced Mr. Wang to sign a guarantee statement, arrested him, and ransacked the place. The police confiscated one of Master's pictures, a number of copies of the "Minghui Weekly", and a satellite dish. Mr. Wang is being held in the Xinji City Detention Center.

7. [Chongqing] Ms. Chen Shufang Arrested

Ms. Chen Shufang, a retired doctor from the Jiangbei District No.1 Hospital in Chongqing, was arrested on June 2, 2008. Police ransacked her home and confiscated certain Dafa books and an MP3 player. Ms. Chen had been held in a brainwashing center for six months in 2003.

8. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Wenji Arrested

Personnel from the Qiaoxi District Police Department in Shijiazhuang City arrested 54-year-old Mr. Liu Wenji from Pingquan County, Chengde City, on June 13, 2008. They confiscated certain Dafa books, a computer, and a printer. Mr. Liu is being held in the city's No.1 Detention Center.

9. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Miao Jianguo Tried in the Linghe District Court at 3:00 p.m. on June 18, 2008

10. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Police Arrested Ms. Sun Ying's Non-practitioner Family Members

Six officers from the Developmental District Domestic Security Division in Yingkou City ransacked Ms. Sun Ying's home at 11:00 a.m. on June 15, 2008. They arrested Ms. Sun's second son-in-law and went to her older daughter and son-in-law's workplace and arrested them. Their whereabouts are unknown.

11. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Peng Minhua and Her Husband Arrested

Police from Laizhou City arrested Ms. Peng Minhua in Xiaoguanzhuang Village, Jincheng Town, on the night of June 16, 2008. In addition, they arrested her husband, Mr. Wang Chunrui, when he went to the police station to bring some clothes for his wife on June 17, 2008.

13. [Bin County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Shuxiang and Ms. Yu Haiyan Arrested

Police arrested Ms. Liu Shuxiang on June 13, 2008, when she explained the facts about Falun Gong in Bin County. Ten policemen arrested Ms. Yu Haiyan from Ningyuan Town, Bin County, and ransacked her home on June 16, 2008. The two practitioners are being held in the county detention center.

14. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] A Fifty-Year-Old Woman Practitioner Was Arrested at 7:00 p.m. on June 14, 2008, for Distributing Falun Gong Truth Clarification Materials

15. [Henan Province] Ms. Wang Aiqin Arrested

Forty-year-old Ms. Wang Aiqin, a teacher from the Henan Province Agriculture University, and her non-practitioner husband, Mr. Tang Yulin, were arrested on the night of June 16, 2008. Police ransacked their home and confiscated Dafa books, one picture of Master, and Falun Gong truth clarification materials.

16. [Beijing] Ms. Xu Na, Mr. Yu Zhou's Wife, Is Being Held in the Chongwen District Detention Center

17. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xiao Sumin Is in Critical Condition

Ms. Xiao Sumin and Ms. Sun Shujie were arrested on May 13, 2008. Ms. Xiao is in critical condidtion and is being treated in ICU Room 201 in Haici Hospital in Qingdao City.

18. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Personnel from the Baoji City 610 Office and from the Jintai District Police Department damaged a Falun Gong truth clarification materials production site on April 21, 2008. They arrested at least four practitioners, including Ms. Wang Jiangmei, Mr. Duan Baojun, and Ms. Qin Lihua. The police confiscated all computers, printers, CD burners, MP3 players, CDs, cell phones, a large sum of cash, and some Falun Gong truth clarification materials. Mr. Duan Baojun was taken to the district detention center on May 6, 2008, after two weeks of persecution.

19. [Beijing] Ms. Yu Zhixin Released But Being Monitored

Police arrested Ms. Yu Zhixin from the Majiabao District and ransacked her home in May 2008. She was released following a one-month incarceration in the Fengtai District Detention Center, but police ordered community personnel to monitor Ms. Yu. She had previously been held in the Beijing Women's Prison.

20. [Zhoukou City, Henan Province] Mr. Tian Zhanjun Arrested

Personnel from the Fugou County Domestic Security Division and from the Jiuyuan Town Police Station in Zhoukou City arrested Mr. Tian Zhanjun on June 11, 2008. They ransacked his home twice and confiscated several of Master's lecture books and an MP3 player. Prior to this, the police arrested Ms. Shi Ran and Mr. Han Gencheng.

21. [Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Guixin and Ms. Ai Yumei Arrested for Explaining the Facts about Falun Gong

23. [Yinan County, Shandong Province] Mr. Nie Yubao and Ms. Du Dengxiang Arrested

Personnel from the Yinan County Police Department and from the 610 Office colluded with officers from the Puwang Town Police Station. They arrested 40-year-old Mr. Nie Yubao from Dougou Village, Puwang Town and 50-year-old Ms. Du Dengxiang from Longjiaozhuangzi Village at 5:00 a.m. on May 22, 2008. The two practitioners were held in the town police station for a day and then were transferred into the county detention center.

24. [Songyuan County, Jilin Province] Police Arrested Ms. Xin Shirong

Two officers from Wangfu Police Station arrested Ms. Xin Shirong from Songyuan City on the afternoon of June 14, 2008. She is being held in the Qianguo County Detention Center. Police extorted 600 yuan from her family under the pretext of providing medical treatment for her.

25. [Qi County, Henan Province] Ms. Zhao Zemin Sentenced to Forced Labor

Ms. Zhao Zemin was arrested on May 29, 2008 and sentenced to two years of forced labor on June 11, 2008. She is being held in Xuchang Forced Labor Camp.

26. [Dunhua City, Jilin Province] Repeat Arrest of Mr. Wang Sihai

Mr. Wang Sihai was released from Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp in Jiutai City on March 29, 2008. He mailed a letter to explain the facts about Falun Gong to Liangjiang Town deputy chief Shen Xiaobo in April 2008, but Shen Xiaobo reported him to the police. Personnel from the Dunhua City Domestic Security Division and from the Heishi Police Station arrested Mr. Wang and confiscated several Falun Gong books. He was sentenced again to two years of forced labor to be served in Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp.

27. [Jiaohe City, Jilin Province] Mr. Qiu Baohe Tried on June 18, 2008

Mr. Qiu Baohe was arrested on March 27, 2008, for explaining the facts about Falun Gong. Police ransacked his home and harassed Mr. Qiu's family. His wife lives away from home now. It was heard that Mr. Qiu was to be tried on June 18, 2008.

28. [Yi County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Cheng Taken to the Jinzhou City No. 2 Detention Center

29. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhang Lijun Illegally Detained

Ms. Zhang Lijun, in her 50s, from Houhu Township, Jiang'an District, Wuhan City, was arrested by local police on June 12, 2008. Somebody reported her to the police when she clarified the facts. The police took her to No.1 Detention Center in Erzhigou of Wujiashan in Dongxihu, Wuhan City.

30. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] A Practitioner Surnamed Liu Persecuted

A practitioner surnamed Liu from Zhengzhou City was arrested in November 2007 and held in the Jinshui Police Station for a several days. The police extorted 70,000 yuan from Liu's family. Liu has been released, but police still harass the practitioner and the family.

32. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Lu Jie Arrested at the Mudanjiang Railway Station

Sixty-four-year-old Ms. Lu Jie from Shenyang City was arrested in the Mudanjiang City Railway Station on May 23, 2008. She is being held in the Tielinghe Railway Station Detention Center in Mudanjiang City.

Police arrested Ms. Liu Hanxiang and Ms. Zhao Jinhua in Hulunbeier City.

Mr. Sun Guozhang is a retired teacher in Dongyangzhuang Village, Xingtang County. His whereabouts have been unknown since he went out to distribute Falun Gong truth clarification materials on June 13, 2008. Police have ransacked his home.

37. [Tianjin] Mr. Liu Haibin Has Been Persecuted

Mr. Liu Haibin has been put in handcuffs and shackles and placed in a small compartment during his detention at the No.1 Prison in Tianjin.

38. [Chongqing] Ms. Shen Xueya Arrested

Personnel from the Fengjie County Police Department's Domestic Security Division arrested Ms. Shen Xueya from her workplace on June 10, 2008. Police put her in a detention center and confiscated many of her Dafa books.

39. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Police Harass Mr. Zhao Shujun and Ms. Cui Li

Liucheng Town Police Department chief Pan Shi in Chaoyang County ransacked Mr. Zhao Shujun's home on June 15, 2008, in his absence. Police confiscated two computers, a printer, two VCDs, two cell phones, a satellite receiver, a TV, and several Dafa books. The police also harassed Ms. Cui Li's family on June 13, 2008.

40. [Yingcheng City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested on June 5, 2008

Personnel from the Dongmafang Police Station in Yingcheng City arrested three practitioners on June 5, 2008. Mr. Wan Jixiang, a practitioner's husband, was tortured to death on May 24, 2005. Their daughter took the National College Exam on June 6, 2008.

The Licang District Court agents sentenced Mr. Liu Xitong to four years in prison on May 30, 2008. Mr. Liu does not acknowledge the sentence and has appealed.

Police arrested Ms. Lin Jinglan from Gulou Village, Jinshi Town, Chao'an County, Chaozhou City, at 3:00 p.m. on June 17, 2008, when she distributed Falun Gong truth clarification materials.

47. [Miluo City, Hunan Province] A Few Practitioners Held in the Miluo City Detention Center

Personnel from the Miluo City Political and Judicatory Committee's 610 Office colluded with agents from the Sanjiang Township 610 Office. They arrested Mr. Li Taoyuan, Mr. Huang Xianbao, Ms. Mei Lan, and Ms. Zhu Xixian on the afternoon of June 2, 2008, saying it was necessary "to protect the security of the Olympic Torch." They are being held in the city detention center.

48. [Gannan County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Guo Jinfu Held at a Detention Center

Police arrested Mr. Guo Jinfu on June 9, 2008, when he distributed Falun Gong truth clarification materials in a market. The police beat him into unconsciousness and then took him to the Gannan County Detention Center.

49. [Xinji City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Zhipu Arrested

Five officers from the Nanzhiqiu Town Police Station colluded with officials from the town administration in Xinji City. They arrested Mr. Wang Zhipu, ransacked his home, and confiscated a satellite dish, Dafa books, and a picture of Master.

52. [Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Lin Jixian and Ms. Yan Anfang Arrested

Ms. Lin Jixian, in her 70s, is a retired teacher from Northwestern Industry University. Personnel from the Taibai Street Police Precinct in Xi'an City arrested her and took her to the Chang'an County Brainwashing Center.

Ms. Yan Anfang, 57 years old, is a retired employee from the Xi'an City Smelting Factory. Personnel from the Lianhu Police Station and from the Zaoyuan Police Station broke into her home and then admitted her to the county brainwashing center.

53. [Beijing] Ms. Du Shuqing Taken to a Brainwashing Center

Seventy-year-old Ms. Du Shuqing lives in Liuhai Lane in the Xicheng District, Beijing. Personnel from the Changqiao Police Station arrested her and put her in a brainwashing center.
