(Clearwisdom.net) On May 3, Divine Performing Arts debuted in Cleveland, Ohio. More than 2000 people attended the show.
Ms. Marti said it was the first time she had even seen a Chinese show and she really enjoyed it. She said, "I am a spiritual person. The dance 'The Risen Lotus Flower' touched me deeply. A Falun Gong practitioner was tortured to death, but she rose to heaven and saw angels. It is great that the artists demonstrated spiritual principles this way. This dance gives people hope."
"Everyone is equal, no matter whether you are American or Chinese. I enjoyed learning about Chinese culture from the show," she added.
Ms. Georgia Young, marketing manager of the State Symphony, said, "This show is rare. The combination of Western and Chinese instruments was perfect. The form was unique."
"I will come again next year," said Ms. Young.
Ms. Young has seen Chinese shows before, but she said that this show was without parallel. "Every program was breathtaking," she said. The contralto, Yang Jiansheng, deeply impressed her. "Her voice was so beautiful and her style was gorgeous," said Ms. Young, "The drum dances and the background scene designs were amazing, too. The English captions on the background helped us to understand the contents of the songs. The cultural contents manifested by this show can be understood by different people."
Ms. Young said, "The show demonstrated how Chinese people fight for their human rights. This reminded me of American history. The freedoms we enjoy now came at a price. Our ancestors had to fight for them. It is an unforgettable show. If the show comes here again next year, I will definitely come again too."
Joe, a theater employee, said he liked the bright colors in the show, which helped transport the audience into a beautiful dream. He added, "I learned what is happening to the people in the other side of the ocean. They should have the same freedoms as we do."
