(Clearwisdom.net) In the afternoon of May 13, Falun Gong practitioners in Thailand held activities in Queens Park to celebrate the 9th World Falun Dafa Day and the 16th anniversary of the first introduction of Falun Dafa to the public. May 13 is also the birthday of Mr. Li Hongzhi, founder of the practice.

At the park, practitioners displayed banners, colorful balloons, and performed traditional waist drum programs to celebrate the day. Practitioners visiting from China joined local practitioners in the festivities.
March 13, 1992, Mr. Li Hongzhi started to teach Falun Dafa to the general public. Falun Dafa is now practiced in some 80 countries around the world. In July 1999, the Chinese Communist regime started to persecute the practice because of its vast popularity in China. Facing the brutal persecution, Falun Gong practitioners have demonstrated unyielding faith and remarkable spirit in their non-violent and peaceful resistance.
