(Clearwisdom.net) I feel that the attachment of fear has a deep root. I can eliminate it for a while, but it always comes back. What should I do? First, I tried to memorize the Fa. The benefit of memorizing the Fa is that the moment I have a thought, I know if it is a human thought or a righteous thought. If it is a human thought, I will send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate it. This method works very well to eliminate "fear" the moment it appears.
I later realized that this approach is still not good enough. Teacher said:
"...wherever there is black qi, there is an illness. Yet the black qi is not the fundamental cause of an illness. It is because there is a being in a deeper dimension who generates this field. So some people talk about discharging and removing the black qi--go ahead and discharge it as you wish! Shortly afterward, it will be generated again, as some beings are very powerful and can retrieve the qi as soon as it is removed; they can retrieve it on their own. Treatments just do not work no matter how they are applied." ("Lecture Seven" from Zhuan Falun)
When black qi shows up, eliminating it immediately is of course, necessary. But, it's more important to realize the fundamental cause of the problem.
The attachment of fear comes from selfishness and from the "me" mentality. It is fear that "my" interests will be harmed.
We came to this world with a mission. At the last moment of Fa-rectification, we should exist only to save sentient beings. Let us imagine that if our minds are always thinking about saving sentient beings, our hearts will not be concerned about the self. "Self" will not exist. How then could the evil things hurt us? There would be no loopholes for the evil to penetrate.
On the other hand, from the point view of saving sentient beings, we should save all the sentient beings we encounter. All life is the same. The difference is that some people have more evil things behind them and some people have fewer. The only difference in the way we treat them is the intensity of sending forth righteous thoughts. Then, when you see police officers, why will your heart suddenly beat quickly? When I do the three things, or deal with ordinary daily affairs, I try to force myself to think from other people's perspectives and from the angle of saving people. For example, when I send forth righteous thoughts, I think, "Eliminate all the evil that prevents the sentient beings from being saved, eliminate the evil using lives to persecute Dafa practitioners, and eliminate the evil that attempts to destroy lives." I also check myself to see if I have the thoughts of "eliminating evil, and not letting it interfere with me," and the selfish thought of "having my comfortable and happy life affected." When I think more of others, I gradually think less of myself. Because, "The cultivation is up to you, gong is up to the master." (Zhuan Falun) I have this desire, and I know that Teacher will help.
